Lovely historic property, but could use a new mattress!

The location and property/grounds were spectacular! The room was beautiful, if uncomfortable.

The room (#1) was very small, facing a loud road, and above the onsite restaurant. It was terribly hot even though we turned the heat off completely. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable with a large divet.

Lovely building in a great little town

Really super receptionist on arrival. They did upgrade us, as we wanted a room with a shower. It was on the second floor. (No lift) As the suite was in the eaves of the building it was a challenge with beams on one side to get into bed. The shower was good with hot water quick to arrive . Great staff in the dining room too . Car park - tucked away though an arch - for larger cars a tight fit ! Charging for cars if needed

The room was a bit tight around the bed, with the sloping ceiling. The dinner , we really thought that there should be more choice. We both struggled to find anything we really wanted to eat .The menu really wasn’t for us . Although of course thats subjective

A very comfortable stay in a delightful and welcoming hotel with excellent restaurant and menu

The hotel location, in the centre of Amboise, was very convenient and the free parking at the hotel was very useful, particularly as we were able to leave our car in the car park during the morning of our departure which allowed us to visit the chateaux in the town. The staff were all, without exception, very pleasant and most helpful. The room was comfortable and the hotel lounges with open fires and board games were a very welcoming and cosy ambience. The food in the restaurant (evening dinner) was exceptional and the restaurant service was excellent.

The access to the hotel is quite narrow and requires a little care on entry and exit. The "Comfort Room' we were allocated while comfortable, was a little cramped and felt cluttered for the room size. It was difficult to find a place to use the tea and coffee making facility conveniently as the kettle flex was too short to reach the electric sockets ! However, these are minor negative features. While we ate in the restaurant for dinner we didn't feel we needed a large breakfast at €20 each so used the convenient local patisserie in the town for coffee and pastries.

Exceptional

The exceptional detail to service. We had problems with our flight and didn’t arrive till 1130pm. Our luggage was carried to our room and a charcuterie board was rustled up for us. Breakfast was beautiful and dinner superb. The room was very sweet and had everything we needed. Lots of lovely areas to sit.

Great hotel buidling with lots of character. Good restaurant, albeit the staff were a bit unhappy looking!

Lovely hotel , great air conditioned room beautifully designed to be sympathetic to the hotel. Gardens very pretty.

We arrived for breakfast before 10am but were obviously last people there. Breakfast staff seemed a little put out . However we’re polite but not very welcoming. This is probably more noticeable as the rest of the staff were so friendly and smiled so much .

Elegant and restful oasis in the very heart of Amboise.

Wonderful location in the center of Amboise, with secure parking. Pretty manicured grounds and pool. Air conditioning in our room was a godsend. Lovely bathroom and Fragonard soaps. Great breakfast outside under the pergola. Very close to pedestrian shopping and restaurants, and around the corner from historic sights. Delightful staff.

A lovely relaxing stay

An exceptional property, with pool, garden and privacy. The room was clean and fresh. I loved the french doors to the patio! The breakfast was hearty and very satisfying. The dining room was charming and civilized. Parking on-sight was appreciated. We would easily go back.

The hotel is beautifully furnished and well maintained. The gardens were also well kept. The location of the hotel is a convenient walking distance of the Chateau de Amboise and DaVinci's home. Restaurants are also plentiful and within walking distance.
