Fabulous
To be honest the staff made our stay the best it could be. I had a great treatment at the spa from Sadie and Molly on reception was so helpful and polite a real credit to the hotel. The spa facilities are clean and the pool temperature was perfect. Aiden ‘s service at breakfast and dinner was remarkable. So thank you all for a wonderful break away.

The room. The staff. Facilities. Cleanliness. Bathroim covered in black mould. Toilet rim and overflow bath and basin never been near bleach

Perfect ambience, location, & restaurant service.
All excellent, especially the dinner service and food - excellent quality and, importantly to me, delivered hot (and promptly). We used the more casual “white room” restaurant rather than the main/posh one as I didn’t want to dress up for dinner, but it was still a very nice quality place.
The only minor thing was there are no sockets right by the bed for phone charging, but I had a battery pack, so no problem.

Wonderful seaside hotel
Very good selection of breakfast cereals, juice, bread, fruit, fish, charcuterie; wide range of cooked breakfast items, all delicious. The dinner menu was very good and we really enjoyed our meals on both evenings, the beef was especially good. We’ve been staying here regularly for over 20 years and it’s our favourite hotel in Sidmouth. The main draw for us is the very comfortable sun lounge overlooking the sea where you can really relax and enjoy afternoon tea

Good, but not great, with cold pool, tiny beds and substandard breakfast
Staff lovely, hotel generally great
Pool very cool - a stretch to call it “heated” which definitely marred the experience. Some of the food was excellent but the breakfast was always somehow off, nothing tasted quite right and I would never normally say this about a hotel breakfast. The beds were the smallest singles I have ever seen - I could barely turn around without finding an edge and I am 5”8 and regular build. Restaurant was also slightly cramped and stuffy.

Another memorable stay at this magnificent hotel
The staff at this stunning hotel are all charming and could not be more helpful. The spa is delightful and very relaxing and a real bonus was the heated outdoor pool was still open (end of Oct) too. We will be back very soon!
