The perfect first holiday for us, beyond expectations.

There was plenty of choice and flexibility for breakfast. The staff, particularly Rajeen, were so incredibly accommodating, allowing me to decorate the room for my partners birthday, getting him a gift and putting balloons in the breakfast room, giving us cake and extra towels if we asked and answering any questions, even bringing us a fan late at night before the staff finished to make sure we were cool enough. Honestly any questions or requests I had were consistently met with kindness, a desire to please and a clear great level of detail and care. The room was absolutely perfect, wonderful view and loved the sound of the sea, the shower was so hot and lovely, the room was nice and clean and when asked, we got extra biscuits on room cleaning. It’s in the small details. Honestly such a magical first holiday for us I couldn’t be happier !

The double duvet were two single duvets zipped up the middle which at times was a little scratchy but outside of that, everything was just amazing.

Exceeded expectations. Relatively expensive but the many plusses made this worth every penny.

Superb location, excellent breakfast and dinner. In addition there were plenty of very good and welcome extras ... e.g afternoon tea, reserved parking, excellent free Wi Fi and very well maintained room servicing. Free upgrade for my single room.

The lift had its problems but this was being dealt with by the hotel.

A lovely short holiday, very comfortable and very relaxing, with lovely sea views.

Lovely hotel right beside the sea. Great arrangement of residents’ facilities including longe and dining room. The problem for me is that the bedroom was tiny with no room for suitcases and the en-suite was minute. The sink was far too small to shave in comfortably- about the size of a tea cup!

Lovely to be with friends by the sea but my room should have been half the price

The location

I was given a room no bigger than a cupboard and could not see out of the high opaque window. Friends had a balcony and larger room for the same price. Poached eggs way overcooked. The waiter did change them but couldn’t eat at the same time as friend.

Pleasant hotel, but overpriced and if you like good food, don’t eat there.

The location and the decor

Although the breakfast was fine, the dining experience was poor. On our first evening I wasn’t feeling very well so just ordered soup while my husband ordered the fish pie. No sooner had our order reached the kitchen and the food was on its way to our table so it had obviously been pre-prepared and this showed in its taste which was lacklustre.Very disappointing for our hotel for which we had paid over £200 a night. We would not stay here again.

Weekend Break by the sea

The hotel was in a great location, staff really friendly and attentive, great food and I had a lovely room with good facilities.

Excellent in every way.

My situation was quite difficult as I tested positive for covid while staying at the hotel. The staff were both professional and very kind and understanding. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.

Pleasant autumn break

The hotel is in a good position on the seafront and close to the town centre. There was a good choice of cereals and cooked options at breakfast, and service at breakfast and dinner was quite speedy. There is a lift but it is some way from the front door.

Our standard room was quite dull. We did not expect a sea view but the window had frosted glass and overlooked a rather grubby light well. There is a car park behind the hotel. We were told that no parking was available, meaning a walk to and from the 24hr hour long term car park close to the Connaught Gardens. Possibly the availability of parking at the hotel depends on how far ahead you book.

Lovely little room by the sea

Helpful and friendly manager. Very clean comfy bed, free and convenient parking (although directions with a map in advance would be useful). Rear facing but still a nice view over the town.

The bathroom had a large cupboard over the toilet so it's hard to sit on the loo without worrying you're going to hit your shoulder when you get up or down. Unnecessary and an injury risk in a small bathroom.

Great location, basic hotel!

Room basic, breakfast ok, better buffet selection would have been nice. Special touches missing! Previously this hotel provided top quality shower gel/ soap and hand lotion, a bottle of water in the room, an iron and a couple of books. These little things can make all the difference

Solo Folk Festival Female Guest.

Beautiful location on the seafront. There are plenty of outside tables on a terrace for drinks and relaxing. Large lounge areas with free coffee. Well stocked bar serving nice wines and crisps or nuts. Delicious breakfast with a great cooked menu. Eggs Florentine was superb, thank you 😊 🙏 Some free parking spaces, if any, are available, and you need to ask for one to be reserved on your arrival or pay £8.80 for 24 hours at Manor Rd Car Park. Clean bedroom and bathroom with newly upgraded showers and sanitary ware. Friendly and kind staff, which made my stay more enjoyable. Perfect hotel for the solo traveler and an abundance of returning regulars.

My booking for two nights through Booking.com advertised free parking on site. After securing the single room, I was contacted by the hotel and told that I would be moved to another room for the second night. Also that I couldn't be guaranteed a parking space. The move was to a larger room but meant I was without my own room for 1.5 hours while cleaning the new room. It was an inconvenience, but the staff were very hospitable and managed to reserve a parking space for my second day. I was just happy to have such a great location and comfortable accommodation for two nights during the busy Folk Festival. Thank you, Kingswood Hotel!

Beautiful view, conveniently located, amazing staff, comfy bed, felt like a real treat

The staff were so friendly and helpful, it felt like nothing was too much to ask. We went for my husbands birthday and our first wedding anniversary and we were given a free upgrade when we arrived. The room was lovely, really comfy bed, nice soap in the bathroom. The balcony was perfect to sit and take in the view. Breakfast was delicious, all good quality food, and the staff were also very friendly and hospitable at breakfast. We didn’t have to book a time slot which we liked as we wanted to see how we felt in the morning. We would have loved to have been able to stay longer!!

Would have been a nice touch to have a fridge in the bedroom for fresh milk for the hot drinks!

Superb hotel

A lovely hotel. We had an allocated parking space, a lovely double room with seasonal view and balcony and all the staff were both friendly and attentive. The hotel is located right on the front. The dinner was delicious and the breakfast was excellent. We talked to other guests who were as enthusiastic about how great the hotel was as we were. A highly recommended hotel

There was nothing I didn’t like, I would just personally have liked the room to have been cooler / the windows to open, as it was a warm space. The mattress was a little too firm (and I’m a firm fan normally!), but again this was just a small gripe.
