The staff were friendly and welcoming and the communcal space was very comfortable, Our room opened out onto the garden, which was lovely. We had a very comfy bed and room in general, decorated to a high standard. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, I would come again 100%!
It was all great!

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Brilliant to have free parking in a location like Sidmouth.
Our only niggle was the early hour of breakfast (8am - 8.45am). However, this was clearly stated in the hotel information and so we were aware of this before booking.

Everyone was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, Both meals were delicious - the best mushroom soup I've had for a long time!
Had I been staying for longer the stairs could have become a slight problem. I am elderly and my room was on the first floor, as far from reception as possible!

Clean and modern room recently renovated. Comfortable bed in big room. Very central part of town. Good breakfast which comes with price of the room
No dinner on the night I was there.

The breakfast.
The hotel is not in any woodland. The room we got was a small room on the ground floor next to the reception and the mens toilet. The door did not effectively shut out the noise from the busy main hallway and reception area and toilet. It was an awkward stay. The room had direct access to the bakside via a glassed door and people could look straight into you on the bed. There were no effective curtains to shut. Very strange and awkward

Good location, friendly staff, good breakfast, honour bar. Light and airy restaurant and lounge. Good shower with lots of hot water.
I had a single downstairs room. The ceiling light in the room was so bright I felt like putting sunglasses on. In the end I opted to switch the room light off and switch the ensuite light on with the door open. Suggest a lower wattage bulb or a dimmer switch or a lamp in the room.

Almost everything. .Room was great. Clean, and nicely laid out. And the TV was easy to use. Bed was VERY comfy. Slept like a log. Staff were nice. Clean, and lovely garden with hens clucking around. Pity we didn't get the eggs from the hens, but see later about the breakfast which was ok but needed attention
Cooked breakfast was ok, but better ingredients were needed. The " sausages" turned out to be one chipolata which had an odd taste. Some decent sausages from a local butcher would be better. And free-range eggs. My scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked but I should have said beforehand that I don't like them rubberised.
There are hens in the back garden but not enough of them to feed all those guests
The breakfast was very well prepared, and piping hot, so no complaints there at all, just about the quality of some of the ingredients.

It has loads of comfortable relaxing lounging areas for sitting, reading or just relaxing. The decor is cozy and warm. It has a quiet ambience, with sort of 'at home' feel to it. The breakfast was very good.
Amy, the owner's daughter was very kind and generous in occupying my small very active grandchildren who were visiting with me at the hotel for the afternoon. The hotel has a large very pretty garden area , where they keep a few chicken at the back of it. She let the kids play with her chickens, feeding them etc. She even gave them a few eggs to take home.. she kept the kids quite busy, whilst the parent and I had an afternoon tea. That was exceptionally kind of her.
My room was a it noisy in the mornings. But that was because the maid's supply closet happen to be just across from my room. Every morning there was a bit rustling about outside my room. But this was avery minor issue. Next time I would not have that particular room.

The room was lovely. A good size, and clean. the breakfast was also very nice.
We would have liked more flexibility around the check-in time. We arrived around noon and requested a check in as early as possible but was told they could only do around 30 minutes earlier than the normal 4pm.

Very pleasant, traditional hotel. Beautiful gardens with chickens roaming! Honesty bar looked well-stocked. Great location with easy access to Sidmouth town centre. Excellent choices at breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable.
My room needed a bedside or over-bed lamp for reading and relaxing. Just having one main ceiling light is not ideal. Car parking spaces are tight and tricky to negotiate.

Had one dinner which was good, fresh and well presented .
Overslept one morning and the owner provided toast and coffee for breakfast
The large garden was inhabited by some unusual chickens. There’s a comfortable sitting out area and a large lounge
The food could have been a little less conventional, though the fresh fruit platter at breakfast was a lovely idea.

Room a very good size with brilliant powerful shower and enormous bed. Very clean and a good tasty breakfast. All staff were friendly and efficient. Located just a short stroll from the seafront and town.
Perhaps a mini fridge in room for fresh milk.

The room was big, the bed comfortable and clean. It looked like it had been recently decorated and was light and airy.
We liked dogs not being allowed in the Dinning Room.
