Friendly but could do with some more attention to detail.
The restaurant was excellent. We had really good breakfasts and evening meals there.
There wasn't the attention to detail we expected. We have stayed at the Salcombe Harbour hotel, where every member of staff cared about the detail. One example was the room care which could be hasty. But when something was pointed out, the errors were quickly and happily amended.

Good hotel; hidden costs
Hotel was clean, dinner was good, and lovely spa
We was on a babymoon and the hotel offered to leave fudge to make out stay special this didn't happen. The hotel (including the room) was way too hot. Being 6 months pregnant didn't help but even the heat woke up my husband. We had to keep the door of the balcony open. During breakfast I felt ill due to how warm it was. We was told breakfast was included (but it was not mentioned this excludes a cooked breakfast.) The mini fridge is not free (we expect to pay for alcohol) but for over £600 for two nights I would of thought a bag of crisps would be included? The price list was well hidden. The hotel rang us before our stay and told us about the Sunday lunch they offered. We booked a table at 6:30 but was told by the restaurant that they stop serving roasts at three. It wasn't the end of the world but I think it added to the disappointment.

We liked our stay netherless and looking forward to another stay there.
Friendly staff. Nice location.
Unfortunately we had a room in the courtyard next to the entrance . Cars driving in and out early . A workman was jet washing right outside all morning and workmen noisy due to the works . A room inside the main building would have been better due to the noise going on outside .
