the excellent choice for breakfast was a major factor in my choosing the hotel. Kippers and smocked haddock were excellent
you need more signage showing the direction of reception

The hotel is right on the sea front and within the town, so it is a great location. It is welcoming, nicely decorated, cozy and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
No kettle in the room. Would have needed to go down to reception to ask for one.

Great to listen to the waves from one's bed!
Car park was not terribly user friendly! A bath would have been nice, not just a shower

Excellent breakfast with attentive staff. Well cooked food.
Evening meal was very good with sufficient choice.
Having Spa facilities was a bonus
Evening entertainment was good
Parking was available with helpful staff to direct you
Service for evening meal was a little quick so the meal seemed rather a rush.
Spa treatments were a bit shorter than we planned.
Better advertising for the evening entertainment, which was very good, might have achieved a bigger audience.

The location was superb about 6 minute walk to most of the venues I was interested in. The breakfast was good. There was a choice of lounges all very comfortable. The shower was strong and had plenty of hot water. There was a wide range of channels on the TV and the soap and shower gel provided smelled great. The chairs and table in front of the window made for a perfect place to watch the world go by. Filtered water and tea, milk and coffee top-ups were always available from the top-up bar.
The room was on the 3'rd floor and head room for someone of 6'5'' was challenging. The bed was on the small side and the shower was a little confining also the towels could have been larger. I found that the wi-fi kept dropping in and out.

The location was ideal? Th staff were helpful
I am partially sighted. I found the change of levels on the 2nd floor difficult ; unmarked and a potential safety hazard I also found the self closing doors difficult
I would not therefore recommend the hotel for the single disabled

Beautiful premises, choice of peaceful lounges.
Waiting staff helpful.
Room clean and comfortable.
Parking was not available through our stay, in the very small Chinese tile puzzle parking arrangement behind the hotel, so paying locally for greatest ease, cost £6.00 for 4hrs, though mercifully free after 6pm until 8am
Despite asking on booking re dietary requirements, when checking in and asking for confirmation of suitable breakfast, receptionist said I hadn’t related that my friend is vegan. She then checked, and agreed that it was in fact on the booking form, problem was that I booked online. She assured us that breakfast would be arranged. In fact, the waiting staff knew nothing of it, asked if we had spoken to the chef (?) and said that the vegetarian sausage was vegan. That made for an extremely limiting breakfast for my friend, one vegetarian sausage, a spoonful of beans, and half a grilled tomato!
I spoke to reception following breakfast, and the lady appeared quite flustered, asked if we’d spoken to the chef as that would be the normal process, despite no-one mentioning it to us, and rushed into the kitchen to bring out a catering pack of Flora to show that it is now vegan.
Cooked breakfast generally was v small portion, though various options on menu meant that after the first day I had yogurt and cereal in addition, which I would normally forego with a cooked option.
Waiting staff however were always courteous and helpful.
Being folk week, which was great, there was a music session going on in the hotel bar, so crowded we couldn’t get to the bar and had to get our evening drinks elsewhere to bring them back into one of the lovely lounges. Despite the brochure saying residents could get a drink at the bar behind reception, that wasn’t possible and we were advised to go to the bar.
There was complimentary filtered water in the room, which could allegedly be refilled, again behind reception, but unfortunately that was closed around 11pm, so we couldn’t! It would have been good to have that information beforehand.

Breakfast was good although we had to wait quite a while. I think another member of staff would have been good.
The wait!

Location was brilliant for the concert in the evening. Breakfast - unfortunately no table setting was made for us but we got a table. The service was ok but the waiting staff failed to take order properly.
Couldn’t get on the Wi-Fi! Left didn’t show it was coming.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend, our stay was more than comfortable and relaxing, staff were friendly and ensured that we could make the most of the short getaway. The tea was complimentary and touches like that were pleasant.

It was absolutely brilliant! Super location, fab staff, hasn’t booked a sea view room but was given one anyway and having the spa to ourselves was so worth the extra cost!

Staff very helpfull, reception and waiter . Parking a bonus and the free upgrade to a sea facing room was fabulous , all of these things will mean I will be looking at this hotel for my next visit .
Hotel is tired but it’s location and age adds in certain ways to its ambiance .

Customer service is outstanding. The hotel is on the sea front, which is perfect for an evening walk after dinner. The four course evening meal was very good, followed by coffee and mints in the lounge. I was surprised to find entertainment on a Tuesday evening, which was a pianist playing a range of popular music. As I was staying over for work, it was lovely to be able to relax in the bar. On work trips, I usually stay in my room but on this occasion, I felt comfortable to explore the hotel, which has several areas to sit.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. There were things I could have improved, if I had known more about the hotel.
I stayed in a room with a side view, which was good, until I realised I could have paid a little extra for a sea view. The cooked breakfast was sufficient and good quality but not as large as I have received in other hotels. However, I could have chosen a range of other brrakfast options, in addition to the cooked breakfast, if I had asked for them. Unlike other hotels the hotel has table service, so I could have asked the waiter for more items for breakfast.
I wished I had checked in earlier, to have the afternoon tea and cake, which is included in the full board price.

Good room, facilities, upgrade to half board was wfm. Central location.
Limited parking, though public carparks nearby. Windows had a constant issue with sea gulls!

It would have ben better if there was a clear understanding of the dining price for residents.
