Randomly picked as I usually stay in Hilton Hotels but this was convenient for my trip.

The food and the service were excellent. Table cloths and proper cutlery. They treat you like they want you to return and enjoy the experience. Proper central heating that worked, tidy and well looked after bedroom and bathroom.

It was all good, you will enjoy the experience.

I did not think it was value for money as we have stayed in oher accommodation with better experince

Breakfast was delicious. Location - would have been good to have a view of the sea.

The room was too hot - uncomfortable for sleeping even with the window ajar. Bed too soft. When asked if we had a good stay - I mentioned these thigs and was told if I had booked a more expensive room it would have been better. Not the response I wanted.

From speaking to the receptionist on arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble staff food location, right on seafront, was excellent a very relaxing two night stay

We came for my father's funeral, so although a sad occasion, we were extremely well cared for.

The staff were lovely, ery helpful and always smiling. We had my father's wake in the restaurant and the service was faultless. Wade especially made it a very smooth experience and the food was lovely. We had scampi in the bar in the evening and it was utterly delicious.

The rooms were very hot. We had to turn the radiator right down but once we had done that, it was quite comfortable. Some alternative pillows would also have been welcome.

An oasis of luxury and charm .

Location excellent for seafront and the town centre. Plenty of on site parking. The whole experience from check in to check out was exceptional. Great staff, beautifully kept rooms and superb food with wonderful sea view when in the lounge bar.

Ideal location, welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable room, excellent food. Also the lift was a great help as I have mobility issues.

Nothing to dislike. The only problem was Storm Bram which confined us to the hotel most of our stay! It did at least make us grateful for all the facilities provided at the Belmont.

Just a lovely relaxing stay in a wonderful place.

Location central for Connaught Gardens and the town. Whilst staying at The Belmont I went to the Victoria to use the Spa facilities, excellent.

Lovely, but aimed at the elderly

Very well trained, professional and attentive staff.

It is advertised as 'Adult Only', so I thought it would be good for a romantic birthday weekend away. It was more like a care home! We seemed to be some of the youngest there and we're over 60. Heating on way too high!

Great location, exceptional staff, perfect.

The team at the Belmont are superb. Polite, professional and helpful. Quite exceptional to have such excellent friendly service in every area from front desk to housekeeping bar and restaurant. Our room was great, clean and very well equipped. The food was of high standard, fresh and well cooked. We enjoyed cocktails and canapés in the bar too, and access to the Spa and putting greens was a bonus we appreciated. Location is superb, great views and easy stroll into town. Easy parking. Oh and the gardens and woodland walk were lovely and beautifully maintained. What's not to like?!

We had a lovely relaxing weekend with a comfortable bed and delicious food and hope to be back soon.

The hotel is adjacent to the beach and promenade. From our arrival with a helpful car park attendant, through to the friendly receptionists, we were welcomed by the attentive staff. Dora the restaurant manager and her team cater for every need in the beautifully appointed dining room. Steve the bar manager is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Our double aspect room, which was spotless overlooked the beautifully tended gardens.

Good traditional hotel, good seafront location with great facilities to use for free, especially the pool!

Great location with sea view from the terrace, loved the heated pool. The staff very friendly and attentive, great to be able to check in on arrival to use the facilities before our check in time, so could park and enjoy the day there. The room has all you need, very comfortable bed and spotless. Great breakfast with lots of choice.

The dinner jacket dress code for the restaurant, almost put us off staying, but glad we did, just didn’t use the restaurant.

A disappointing experience and not worth the exorbitant price.

I had booked a room with a balcony and sea view. Instead I was in a room overlooking the extractor fans of the kitchens, air conditioning fans and the recycling bin for glass. This was NOT "an upgrade to a garden room", as I had been told at reception. The shower delivered no more than a dribble and when I mentioned this to the deputy manager on checking out, I was told I "should understand" that it was an old building and the plumbing could be "challenged" if a lot of guests were having showers at the same time (I was trying to shower around 4pm, so I don't think this applied).

Good breakfast but somewhat expensive. Comfy room with comfy bef. A bit noisy but that was due to tbe Sidmouth Folk Festival. Impressed with the parking control arrangements.

A great stay at a lovely hotel, would like to return.

Location was amazing and we were upgraded to a sea view, which we enjoyed. All staff were lovely and the extras in the room, such as water, tea/coffee and body lotion were appreciated.

The room was very warm, so found it difficult to sleep. Did use the fan in the day but didn't want to sleep with it on.

Lovely stay at the Belmont Hotel

The location and spacious surroundings and friendly staff. We had a meal in the bar area and the restaurant which were both extremely good. The terrace area is a great place to wind down with views of the sea over the putting green. The spa in the sister hotel was a bonus.

Perfect Seaside Escape

Perfect seaside hotel. We loved having the use of the outdoor heated pool & indoor spa facilities at the Victoria hotel next door. The staff at the Belmont were very friendly & accommodating. The room was spacious & the bed was large & very comfortable.

A fridge in the room would have been helpful but apart from that everything was excellent.
