The staff and decor were outstanding

The window on seafront room was letting wind in around the edges. Unfortunately there was a storm so the noise was quite bad. The mattress and pillows could have been better. The breakfast was delicious!

Lack of parking spaces could potentially cause problems for some visitors. We were lucky enough to find a space directly outside the hotel.

Family group booking to celebrate a special occasion - mums 80th birthday celebration! A party of 6 for a 2 night weekend stay. All the rooms we booked were lovely….mum had a sea view which was gorgeous. Location was great. It was fab to have parking and somewhere to leave mums mobility scooter. The breakfast was superb! All the staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated the extra little touches to mark the special occasion. Thanks to everyone at the hotel! We’d definitely visit again

Very good restfull holiday, just what we needed

Hotel in good position, quick and easy to get to beach, but enjoyed watching local. Activities whilst drinking our coffee on our balcony. Everything needed in the room but not far from shops, for our retail therapy too. What more can you ask for

The staff are friendly and attentive at all levels. We arrived far too early to check in, but were told the room was available if we like.

The bed was smaller than what was listed on booking.com but they quickly rectified this and got us another room.

Thoroughly enjoyable place to stay - check car parking availability

It’s a very Well run establishment and good breakfast. The location is great - right on the esplanade so had great views. Particularly for the Air Display at the Regatta Staff are all really friendly, kind and professional. Nice to see.

It’s not clear on Booking .com or hotels website that parking space is limited and needs to be reserved. It is free but at busy times you may not get a space. There is a car park about 100 Metres away £15 for 24 hours. Some areas, some furnishings and outside balconies could do with a bit of a touch up before it gets too tired looking.

Fabulous location and excellent staff which made for a great stay

The staff were all super friendly & smartly dressed. The hotel is right on the seafront and a few steps from the beach, shops, pubs & restaurants. Breakfast was really lovely and the food service at breakfast was really quick,even though they were fully booked. I’d definitely stay here again.

It was a little noisy at night as our room faced the esplanade. I think this was mainly because it was folk festival week and it didn’t affect our overall enjoyment but might be something to bear in mind if you’re booking for the folk festival.

Good to get a parking spot behind the hotel at no cost. Location on the seafront is very good and an easy walk into the town centre with a good selection of places to eat. Excellent breakfast and great service from the staff. Dined at the hotel on the first evening, there was a good choice of food at a reasonable price. The room was serviced every day to a good standard

Having paid a top price for a sea facing room we were very disappointed with the actual room given to us. We had seen the photos online of the sea facing rooms which were fairly highly priced due to it being high season , all appeared to have either a full picture window or full length door with lovely sea views and some with access to outside seating on a small balcony. Our room however was situated on the third floor with a smallish dormer window which we had to ask for assistance to open. We had two bucket chairs in the room which we were unable to use as they were pushed under the sloping eaves and couldn't be positioned to sit comfortably to read and look out on the view across the sea (which is why booked the room in the first place). We needed to stand up to see a part of the sea view. This was not a late booking and we appear to have paid the same rate as those other guests who had full views and window facing seats. We believe that this was overpriced compared to other rooms with sea views and I feel needs a lower price than other better rooms with a sea view.

Excellent hotel with amazing staff, nothing was too much trouble. Room 26 looks straight out onto the beach with a balcony. Large room with chairs and a sofa too

The balcony would benefit from a repaint and parts of the decor will need replacing soon but all purely cosmetic and didn't affect our stay at all

A wonderful escape to the seaside. We felt well looked after and very comfortable
