Breakfast was lovely but would have liked cheese and cold meats for continental breakfast

Some toiletries as forgot shampoo and had to pop out to buy some

Shower and loo very poor functioning

Breakfast was excellent.only complaint is one of the rooms had no hot water for showers in the morning. Other than that, every thing else was perfect. Very friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely room with free upgrade.

2 night stay was comfortable. Staff attentive Meals excellent Requested a bath and we were upgraded at no extra charge. did not need the Spa so from our view of the outside pool clean and well looked after. Would recommend to anyone young or like us old.

TV (pixellating) and blinds in bathroom didn’t work. Out of stock of a chosen aperitif and our two choices of wine at dinner! The whole place felt cold although I’m sure it’ll be addressed shortly with heating being turn on.

Great location for the tank museum which was the purpose of the visit. Plenty of parking right by the door. Very quiet.

A little dated. Price includes gym, pool access etc but would prefer a cheaper price without this access.

Was inviting and clean. Was given an upgrade on arrival, bonus. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Large french windows overlooking well-kept grounds. Very quiet and peaceful and added bonus was an owl lulling me to sleep.

If I was being very picky, the wooden bathroom toilet roll holder and toothbrush holder didn't match the beautiful bathroom. My biggest complaint was breakfast. Was not good at all. Hardly anything left, and what was left was far from appetising.....ok, so it was 9.30 (I had a lay in as I'd travelled far the day before). Breakfast finished at 10! But still. I'd expect more on offer. No Greek yoghurt, only a couple of toffee flavour. Only two plain croissants left, no other pastries. Only defrosted frozen berries left. One sausage left. Eggs looked disgusting, both fried and scrambled. Couldn't find the milk for cereal? It was very noisy too.

Very friendly staff and good breakfast and dinner. Nice outdoor pool. Large bedroom and spacious lounge area.

Some dust in the bedrooms. Hotel in need of external decoration.

Frontage in desperate need of tlc - I’d suggest they employ a Gardener. With a little effort and small investment the frontage could be so much more welcoming

Room was a good size and clean the shower was pathetic and needs to be replaced. The indoor pool was closed but outdoor pool was used but could do with a clean. Breakfast was good,evening meal was good but personally smaller portions for a lower cost would be better.

Things seem a little frayed and tired decoratively – things not working, such as the sauna, and a window in our room gaffer taped up. And the food really needs an improvement. Our dinner was not pleasant.

Location is convenient. Free parking. Firm mattress.

I stayed here before in 2018 and enjoyed it, this time however was very different. Everything very outdated, scruffy and needs a good deep clean (see pics for extractor fan in bathroom), hairs everywhere in our room. Very difficult to sleep. A lot of noise from people on the terrace below until the early hours and cars speeding down the road. Our room was also next to the stairs and many creaking floor boards outside so everyone walking past woke us up. Very hot in room, no air con or fan. Both me and partner were very itchy in bed, I couldn’t see any bugs so possibly the laundry detergent. All combined meant very little sleep. We didn’t receive any information in our room about the hotel, we had to go to reception and ask. WiFi was very spotty, only able to connect in the bathroom sometimes and only 1 bar. Was told it had already been reset because of problems others had already mentioned to reception that day. Breakfast staff the second day were too busy loudly gossiping to bring us a menu. I ordered boiled eggs and one came broken open and spilling out of the shell and husband’s mushrooms were smothered in salt. Will not return here again, can’t believe we paid so much, not sure where the money is going.

Great service and staff. Excellent food very well priced and comfy rooms. Good location. Lovely outside pool. Will definitely stay again when in the area. We did have a problem with the TV in the room which they sorted quickly by moving us. Great customer service

A bit expensive but we stayed in the school holidays which always cost more.

The hotel location is brilliant, as was the service, particularly the hotel reception who arranged to store our cycles securely. We had a swim in the pool and used the facilities which were very well maintained. Parking was free and fairly secure.

The accommodation for 170 with a booking made will inadvance would have expected more than what appeared to be a single room next to the kitchen with a view from the windows of a stack of old cake trays a shopping trolly a big metal food container and some old car batteries on the law. The view was awful considering the beautiful gardens.

The swimming pool area was a bit grubby on the floor. The signage in Spa is not clear for people who are short sighted and are likely as my wife was to be walking around without her specs. There was no clear signage in the men’s changing room indicating that to access the Spa you have to go via way of the pool. I wound up walking by up and down in the corridor outside trying to find it!

Room was spacious, with a comfortable sofa, kettle, hairdryer, balcony, USB chargers by the bedside. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was good, dinner was good quality pub-type food. The grounds are spacious and pleasantly maintained, with an outdoor swimming pool and there is a good sized carpark.

The shower was unusable as the water was extremely hot and the temperature could not be adjusted, presumably due to a faulty control valve. I reported this and to be fair was offered another room by the helpful staff but we declined the upheaval as we were staying for 2 nights only. At one point the TV fell off the wall and upon inspection found that it had not been secured, merely hooked on the wall bracket. The room was very hot from the July sun and although there was a ceiling fan this had little effect. A/C would have been nice. The spa facilities although mostly working OK were looking very tired and could use a thorough refurbishment. The annoying soap dispensers in the rooms and spa required a superhuman grip to extract any soap.

We had a couple of minor glitches initially but they were fixed by friendly and attentive staff! These glitches were not something one could have foreseen. The spa / fitness facilities were superb!
