Very convenient and perfectly for an overnight stay.

Smart appearance. Very clean. Free off road parking. Fridge with milk and bottled water in the bedroom. Our room was made available extra early upon our request.

Room very small. Bed reading lights too bright. Illumination I bathroom not great. Little interaction with host made it feel rather impersonal.

Very clean, great location for us specifically with proximity to our family. The service was very friendly and helpful. Also really good that the property has parking.

The mattress was a little bit hard and the water pressure in the shower wasn’t great.

Friendly and helpful. If you and any issues Yvonne was at the end of the phone to help. Shower did stop working but Yvonne allowed us to use another room as there guests had left. Yvonne couldn't apologise enough to me as I have trouble with stairs for my hip and the only room left was in the attic.

Nice comfortable clean ensuite room, well equiped and good location with good kitchen facilities downstairs.

Cozy

It was very neat and cosy. The owner helped me get a taxi to get on my ferry. She was also accommodating after I arrived pretty late.

My room was on the second floor and as a plus size girl, it was a bit of a struggle especially on the narrow and steep staircase and my room was a bit small, with very little wiggle room around the bed. Also the owner is pretty strict with the check in time, so double check before booking

Clean, comfy and accessible

Comfortable, clean and hosts were very friendly. Short walk from local shops and restaurants. Bottles of water and tea were a very nice touch with clean towels and storage for clothes and luggage. Very happy with stay, thank you for your hospitality!

Ideal for a stopover in Poole.

Thank you to the host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful with advice regarding restaurants etc. We are grateful. This is a simple guesthouse, so if you are looking for hotel 'facilities' such as bars and room service you may be disappointed, but the room was great, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed for a one night stay (ahead of a ferry jouney early the next morning). The Mariners was easy to find and there was on-site parking. We would be happy to stay again.

There is quite a lot of traffic noise, which prevented the early sleep that we ideally wanted, but there's not much the host can do about that. It wouldn't stop us staying again, but worth bearing in mind if you are a very light sleeper.

The cleanliness was impeccable, the room looked exactly like the pictures and description, with a very comfortable bed, the staff was very kind and helpful. The location was easy to access, parking was provided in the yard. 30 minutes walk to the city center

Late arrival from Brittany Ferry

Yvonne had kept a look out for us from the Cherborg Poole ferry, as it took a long time to get through immigration. She was very welcoming and ensured we settled in comfortably.

Exceptionally smart, clean room

The Mariners is easy to find and parking is readily available on her gravel drive. The room was very bright and exceptionally clean. The ensuite is roomy and well equipped with the necessary toiletries and towels. The coffee/tea making facilities could be improved with some small snacks/biscuits. The single beds were very comfortable and the duvet large and warm. Despite being close to the main road there was no noise to disrupt our sleep. I would give Mariners a 10 but for the lack of a breakfast. I would have thought a simple Continental breakfast would be easy enough to provide: yogurts, croissants, toast, jam and marmalade and tea and coffee. You need something first thing. It also says on the Booking.com website that breakfast is included until you come to the end of the booking process by which time it's too late. I think the rate could easily be raised to £85-£90 to cover this. The owner is very friendly and I understood her reluctance to provide full English breakfasts. I would certainly return to the Mariners but armed with breakfast food to keep in the room fridge.

Room was lovely, house was quiet, parking availiable off street. hostess was funny, very cheerful, incredibly warm & helpful towards guests. Had a great stay, very happy to have chosen the mariners to stay

gute Lage, aber kein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

wir kamen in der Hitzewelle und bekamen im erstes Stock ein „kühles“ Zimmer, das war angenehm. sehr gute, helle Leselampen über dem Bett. Die Lage ist gut, wenn man m nächsten Morgen die Fähre nach Cherbourg gebucht hat. Parkplatz direkt am Haus.

Wir wissen nicht, wie das gebuchte „warme“ Zimmer ausgesehen hätte. Dieser Ersatz war eine Zumutung. Das Zimmer ist eigentlich zu klein für eine Person, geschweige denn für zwei. Zum Glück hatten wir nur kleines Gepäck. Frühstück wird keines geboten. nach ersten Informationen - gute Restaurant-Empfehlung - verschwand die Gastgeberin, und wir mußten feststellen, dass es weder im Zimmer noch an der „Rezeption“ Infos zum WiFi gab.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, nur leider ohne Heizung.

Das Zimmer ist hell, sehr sauber und alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hat uns gute Tipps gegeben, wo man lecker Frühstücken kann und welche tollen Sehenswürdigkeiten wir uns anschauen sollen.

Leider ging die Heizung im Schlafzimmer nicht an, dadurch war es in der Nacht recht kalt.
