Ideal.

Always need an en-suite, free parking and easy access to come and go. The Shah ticked all boxes. Comfy room. Good location.

No toilet brush and the poached eggs a bit minimalist, but minor quibble.

Warm, friendly, Great location and everything on hand ! Couldn't ask for more

Warm welcome, efficient check in, friendly attentive staff and management. Good choice of products at very reasonable prices. Hotel room very clean and very well equipped. Comfortable bed. Free parking on site a very welcome bonus.

Just my own preference but the decor in the bar was very dark.

The room was spacious and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Handy budget stay for Poole .

Handy for Poole . Staff did their best to overcome major problems to keep the place running. Good ambiance and well patronised on quiz night. Very successful.

Heating had broken down on first night. Staff had to find me a plug in radiator to make room bearable. Heating never came on entire stay. In general the place would benefit from a major refurbishment.

It was Christmas so seems unfair to complain about minor things - staff had plenty to do and needed a break too.

It was pleasant enough for what we needed and had last minute availability as this stay was a last minute decision.

I liked the fact staying guests get a discount on food and drinks. I thought the names of the rooms were interesting. The food was good enough. Beds were very comfortable. Close enough to Bournemouth Airport if like me you prefer a chilled start to your holiday.

The property is a bit dated and could do with a little revamp but was comfortable enough.

Convenient for Poole

The hotel was easy to find and check in. There are steep stairs which for me are a problem, but they helped with luggage. I was happier when they moved me to a better room because lighting was faulty. I was comfortable and felt warm. Free WiFi worked ok. I didn't eat there as I was attending a function elsewhere.

Don't bombard me with emails - so far fourteen. One welcome mail would suffice. Bath drain needs attention - not draining correctly. No hot water in the morning, No towel rail although there is a sign saying there is one.

In a very convenient location to visit friends who live nearby. The room was great and had everything I needed it - and the staff were all lovely.

Good value hotel and excellent location for exploring Oxford.

Room was a little tired , however clean and bed very comfortable. Towels etc also good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for exploring Oxford as we were allowed to leave car for unlimited time and an easy walk, or frequent buses,into the city.

Great value for money, great location and excellent breakfast!

The staff were super friendly and were so accommodating when I found my ferry was delayed and I might not arrive before the cut off time!

Nothing substantial - just my room was a tad cold and, although I was given a plug in oil heater, it was a bit smelly so I didn’t want to use it.

Temperature was a little too warm so I slept with the window ajar and without the duvet cover over me. Squeaky floorboards so other residents kept me awake as they moved around the property.

All the charm of a family pub.. Luvly jubbly.

Cosy, free secure parking, great staff, great food and it’s a pub… what’s not to like!

Not a dislike, more of an observation. The walls are thin so you can hear traffic (which you get used to) the neighboring rooms (snoring/coughing/farting ect) and some inconsiderate so and so’s slamming doors at all hours, however, this may have just been the room I was in, otherwise, I was happy and will come back next time.

A perfect family room in a welcoming establishment!

From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff, both evening and morning, were super friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for what we needed and with 2 SEN children in tow, it really helped me! We had an evening meal on our first night with family members and again, the staff were super helpful with our needs and nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast both mornings which was fresh and delicious, served with jolliness and quirks catered for. All in all a treasure of a find for when we visit family again.

There wasn't anything I could fault! Personal preference of a thicker loo roll perhaps and maybe a lift to save my knees but nothing that would stop me visiting again. (I know a lift isn't possible and it is only a flight of stairs!)

OK but could have been much better

A good location not too far from the town centre

I went for breakfast but there was no-one there, I later discovered the person cooking breakfast had overslept, I didn't bother after that. There was no hot water in the bathroom. The TV was intermittent and dropped in and out all the time.

It served its purpose, a one night stay on route.

Comfy beds, clean towels, parking and tea making facilities.

The choice of food on the Sunday night was poor. They had sold out of steaks and roasts. The toilet in our room had a very poor flush. It caused us to have to use the facilities down stairs in the bar.

This is a Pub/Restaurant with rooms, not an Hotel.

Very pleasant and helpful barman who booked us in. Food quite good. Convenient position to get to ferry terminal early next morning.

No seating in bedroom. Double Bed and two single beds meant dodging around extra beds to reach bathroom. Side dish arrived ten minutes after main meal started. Very noisy crowd exiting at closing time disturbed sleep. Not appreciated as needed to get up at 0500hrs to catch ferry.

We picked this hotel as we were catching the ferry to jersey which was ideal. There wasn’t a lot to do in the area . We walked into centre but very busy roads.

Very noisy people in next room talking loudly in the early hours we tried to let them know we could heart the em but not resolved. The walls between rooms too thin & not sound proofed we cancelled the reservation form the following week on our return journey from France

The room was really hot and stuffy. And the provided fan was loud but didn’t really do much It was also quite noisy with the extraction from the kitchen The windows could also only be opened a little bit… For the price i frankly expected a lot better

Lovely old hotel, with friendly and polite staff, very hard working staff. Extensive menu which is very good value. And the food was served hot. Room was equipped with all the Amenities you need for the stay. Plenty of parking.

Good location but bathroom needs an upgrade

Wasn’t too far to walk into Poole, bed was very comfy, bar staff were helpful

Cleanliness needs improving and bathroom needs a facelift. There was mildew around the bath, the washbasin and outside of the toilet bowl were dirty, the shower wasn’t useable as the head kept falling out of the holder. The whole room shook every time the outside door slammed shut.

Position for the port of Poole was perfect. Less than 10 minute drive. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Very nice staff. Beds comfy, Perfect location. Great food. Had fun in the room which was must have during the hot nights.Will return again..

Not a great choice for us

Big room and bed. Scruffy shower but didn’t use. Staff friendly and informative on arrival

Noisy road. And could hear talking through walls so not much sleep Not great choice of beer on tap. Eating area not appealing to stay for breakfast so left early and went elsewhere
