The staff upon arrival and throughout my stay were polite and friendly, an assets to the Marston's chain. The room was clean and had everything you needed. The Shower had good consistent water pressure.

Breakfast unavailable as we were leaving early. Room was clean and quite spacious even with extra bed for kids put in it. Main bed was huge, but the matress was uncomfortable, not supportive at all. Plenty of pillows, bedding was nice. Bathroom was very poor, floor looks like a public toilets floor, one of the taps was broken, shower had bits of black mould around the rim. Had dinner in the pub, on a Sunday night before Christmas, the menu was very limited, no festive options, unless pre-ordered. Being Martons pub, we were unpleasantly surprised there was only one ale available. Bar floor sticky, whole restaurant area had unpleasant smell. Food was taking forever to come out, to the point me and kids left the pub and went to our room, leaving husband behind to wait for their dessert to come. Food was nice enough, on a average side. Staff was very nice, that was the only positive.

A good welcome from a busy team on a very busy Friday evening. All our interactions with the staff were excellent. Portion sizes were good and the food was presented well, with a smile and at a very fair price. What lets the place down is the decor including the bedrooms which are clean but tired and run down. Everything is functional but the venue is overdue an upgrade.

Bedroom was right near a busy road, windows had to be closed thus making the room hot and stuffy even with a fan. Bathroom was a little tired and the toilet didnt flush well plus shower base didnt flow away so flooded floor. Bed was missing a foot so we felt like our legs were higher than ourheads

Very bad experience after booking I reach there in pay at property condition before my arrival property grab money from my friend account without his authorization we tried to clarify they put us in black list and didn't give rooms, we face very difficult to find another stay my rating about this property 1 out of 10.

This was my second Marstons pub stay in a week. I've always stayed in them over the years, on par with Premier Inn and sometimes even better. However, the rooms seem to be extremely tired these days, looks like minimal investment since Covid and found them very tired looking and such a shame. Stayed for 2 x nights but room was not cleaned inbetween, not an issue for us, apart from the fact that we didn't get our coffee replenished (good coffee, Nescafe Gold Blend, but 2 x stick packs and 2 x decaff), they were gone first morning with two of us staying. Room was uncomfortably hot, no air conditioning.... had a fan but, it didn't blow any air around, we should've complained but was too hot to be bothered and didn't think they'd have a spare anyway. Lovely staff though!

A old building so quiet quirky. Lots of plug sockets and a fan provided as there is no aircon. The shower was really powerful. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was nice and clean. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. Location was just right for us. The pub downstairs had a good range of beers and the food was good.

Whilst the actual stay was generally acceptable, we had SERIOUS issue concerning our return booking 11/12 June (Ref. 73064796017052). Upon booking this return we pre-contacted the manager who confirmed that our late ferry arrival circa 11:30pm could accomodate late access, given prior notice. However the manager 3/4th June would/ could not re-confirm late access availability, nor communicate this for/to the later manager even with prior notice. A company administration/ communication customer failure. We then cancelled our return booking to a welcoming alternative hotel who had no such isssue !!! Won't visit Shah of Persia again.

Nice hotel, unfortunately by a busy main road. Food and staff are lovely however the windows in the rooms could do with being double glazed, it is quite loud when traffic is going past, especially on a hot day and the windows are open.

The check-in was great on arrival with plenty of info from Courtney. The food in the pub was also good with no complaints. The room I stayed in needs a good deep clean both in the bedroom and bathroom. You could also hear every noise from people walking past your room with the floors creaking and doors shutting which made for a terrible nights sleep.

The bed was super comfy and the pillows were soft and comfortable and the duvet was cozy I had the best night sleep in the bed the bathroom was clean as well overall it was a good stay
