Car parking was a little difficult but the standard of the hotel made it worthwhile

Very nice spacious room with very comfy bed and very clean
Menu in restaurant quite limited and over priced

Comfortable room and location
Miserable staff. Off-hand at reception with no warmth of greeting, no ‘how was your stay’ on departure and then barmaid in the evening surly and unhelpful. Claimed she had no whisky glasses because they were all broken over Christmas. Really?

The room was more spacious than expected, very comfortable and clean. A two-minute walk to a car park and 5 minutes to coffee, shopping and restaurants.
All was good!

Comfortable hotel with well set up rooms. Menu looked good although we didn't eat there.
Has limited parking but the space is tight - wouldn't want to park an SUV in it. However there is a public car park opposite,

Fabulous ambiance. Excellent food and service. Wonderful room. Very accommodating for our dogs. Staff very friendly and professional, delivering personal service with attention to detail. My husband said it was the best hotel he'd ever stayed at!
Car parking is tight, but close proximity to a major car park in the town.
Quite pricey but you get what you pay for. We're not 'spa people ' if you are it's not for you.

Very nice room, too many stairs though, perhaps less able people would struggle to access Lering Station room

Food very good generally dinner could have been hotter, very good breakfast though as commented by me to the chef

As always, rooms are well presented, restaurant onsite so great to dine and enjoy the wine list.
The reception staff were either not there or not very welcoming- disappointing on arrival, no one there to checkout.
So many stairs and small stairways- no problem but couldn’t imagine locating rooms if you were not physically able.
Parking onsite, told we couldn’t reserve parking but on arrival no spaces but reservation signs were present! Cheaper parking alternative down the road.

The room was nice and comfortable with lovely products, decent hairdryer. Room had all you needed for comfortable stay.
The common areas bar and restaurant were freezing cold which unfortunately was due to a boiler issue, not great in January when weather was zero and below. They had no contingency, not even any plug in heaters in the restaurant and were not particularly apologetic about it, so it was uncomfortable!
We stayed here as had been told the brand has a good reputation but I was underwhelmed by the restaurant service and food. On more than one occasion we were served like warm coffee and tea. The breakfast was also a little luke warm with solid butter so you could not spread it. Had to keep asking for a cup or milk to go with the tea there was a serious lack of experience in the dining area.

Got a good deal for DBB. Bed comfy
Staff, bar one lovely barman, had the charisma of cardboard cut outs. Only one person on check in and same when we checked out meant long queues. No acknowledgement, a smile and I’ll be with you as soon as I can doesn’t cost anything but goes a long way.
Room was in an annexe rather than the main hotel so needed coats to go for dinner and breakfast.
Whilst a 2 course dinner ‘included’ actually almost everything had a supplement and sides additional and required to make a complete meal in most cases eg steak is just a steak.
We used to love the hotel du vin chain but fear recent experiences here and other properties mean it’s loosing it’s charm and no longer somewhere special and just an upmarket premier inn

A beautiful building in a fantastic location. The bedroom we stayed in was the Thierry Lombard, which was so spacious and so comfortable.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner both evenings and the food was delicious.
Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and very fresh.
The staff were very helpful.
We have a Tesla and the car park entrance was a little tight, through an arch, and the actual car park spaces were a little short. My husband was not happy that he scratched his alloy wheels. It was £15 a day for car parking.

Lovely room, excellent staff and great position for everything in Poole.
Parking is a little tricky, entrance is tight to get into but large public car park a couple of minutes walk away.

An excellent breakfast. Buffet style for toast, juices and cereal, waitress service for an extensive range of cooked food including kippers. There was also an option for vegan and vegetarian cooked food.
There was nothing not to like.

Huge shower, comfy bed and bedding . Good selection of tea and coffees.
Good size room .
Staff on reception and when booking all very helpful and friendly despite reception was very busy .
Ugly tv furniture , no lamp in seating area ,bath in room all felt dated how executed .
no little extras such as basic providing fresh milk . Books ,magazines, info about area .
No plug inside cupboard for kettle so had to have it boil on floor of room
Windows/french doors covered in film no outside view unless doors opened felt v shut in
Restaurant area dark and dated and very limited menu.

Room was more than adequate although a level of fitness was necessary to access the room.
Had dinner which was adequate but fully priced
Parking of a car is somewhat of a problem unless the vehicle is very small but even then “difficult”

Good venue, great room, really good food in restaurant
When booking was not told room would be away from main hotel. No heating in the rooms bathroom, we were told when we complained the radiator was getting too hot so had been turned off. Again disappointed we were not informed at time of booking. Shower water also luke warm, although sink and bath water very hot.
For these reasons I thought the room was overpriced.
Also disappointed a service charge was added to every single transaction in the restaurant. Every drink at the bar and every meal in the restaurant, including breakfast. I am not against tipping but having the option would have been nice.

The restaurant (although a little expensive) was fabulous quality we had fillet steak 🥩 it was a 10/10 . Breakfast was good. We had the most comfortable bed in a quiet room with a fabulous deep bath . Immaculately clean & warm .
Minor observations. Weak decaf coffee ! A lot of stairs no lift !

From the very helpful check-in, we had loads of luggage and the lovely young fellow on the front desk helped us, to a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. We lived the decor too.

Hotel is in a great location.
We had a suite. The room was a good size (although I think I expected it to be larger) and well furnished.
Extremely dog friendly (with a dog bed, water bowl, food bowl and treat bag with a wooden spoon for wet food, AND a tennis ball as well as the treats!) - loved how much they'd thought about that.
Breakfast was excellent - particularly like that it's a la carte for hot food. Fresh and well cooked / presented.
The staff in the Bar & Bistro were absolutely fantastic and accommodated a group of 20 of us at the last minute for late drinks and snacks after our concert in the neighbouring church.
Stairs everywhere - obviously it's because of the type of property, but I don't think this was mentioned at all anywhere that I recall. Especially with our dog, getting stuff up and down was not easy and there was no offer of help.
Mattress was very, very firm. Some people will like it, but I really struggle with that and would love the option of a foam topper or suchlike for those who need something a bit softer. Especially for the price we paid for the two nights! I really did not sleep well at all.
I had stated my feather allergy on booking and the bed linen, duly, was non-feather. However every single cushion in the room was feather and I didn't realise until I'd been sitting on the sofa watching TV for a while and I felt my allergies kick in. I am very surprised feathers were left in the room and don't understand why non-feather can't just be standard anyway, since it keeps its shape much better and is surely longer lasting?!
The heating controls - blimey, you need a PhD! Our friends all struggled with theirs as well. Note to hotel - you absolutely NEED to explain these to guests, they are not obvious!!
For such a big bathroom, it was lacking in thought / detail. The toilet roll holder and dispenser were stuck right in the corner behind the toilet which made getting to it pretty difficult when you were on the loo. And there was no loo brush in the room.
Towels felt very small - kinda stingy for a premium brand (and I'll go back to the price we paid!).
Two "patio" type doors in our room, one opened to a Juliette balcony. The other had no handle and wouldn't open, despite there being a large roof terrace area outside of it. Disappointing that that area wasn't part of the room (esp. with the cost and when we could see other rooms outside the other window which had outdoor balconies with chairs and tables!!).
