Nice room. Good value for money. Walking distance to city centre (10 minutes walk to Cathedral). Friendly owners and staff.

The hotel's car park was full but the owner gave us a free residents' parking permit which allowed us to park on the road short distance away.

I love the Telstar. We didn't have breakfast, but it was very comfortable, and the decor totally unique. Our room had a record player and being able to purchase drinks was a bonus. The off-road parking is super convenient. We'll definitely return.

Lovely stay, can highly recommend.

The owner/manager and staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accomodate my needs. The room was lovely, and also very quiet and other spaces nicely furnished. It was within walking distance of the town centre. All in all, I can highly recommend it.

Friendly staff to greet us on arrival. Very comfortable room with its own balcony. Off street parking. Excellent breakfast.

The room was warm - there was a winter weight quilt on the bed so it was too hot for my partner. The host recommended a restaurant that was closed that day - we walked across town only to be disappointed.

Great Staff, Excellent Breakfasts

Charming guesthouse-style accommodation, notable for excellent staff and first class breakfast where all dietary requirements are catered for. Very well located for St. David's train station, and close enough/far enough away from the centre of the city. Many interesting features in the building such as tiling, old photographs, and various antiquities. Special note of thanks to Magdalena who was a consistent and outstanding member of the team.

Unfortunately (and fortunately) we visited Exeter at the time of a heatwave - great weather for the whole weekend. But we were in the eaves and the room was very hot at times. Staff did all they could to accommodate us with supplies of ice and cooler fans though, couldn't ask for more.

It was exactly as the reviews had read. Excellent location, lovely Victorian Hotel, of course very old but great character and spotlessly clean! Great room overlooking the courtyard and a superb breakfast in the morning and plenty of it! Parked in the car park at the back with no trouble.

Location was great, walking distance from the city centre and Exeter St Davids station. There was a wide range of choices for breakfast and food was delicious. Kind and very friendly staff as well!

A lovely place to stay.

A lovely little room tucked away in the quiet and with balcony area outside the room . Although I was only staying for 1 night, I loved the ‘added extra’ touch of a gramophone record player and some records being provided. If I was looking for somewhere to stay in Exeter for a week, I would happily choose Telestar to stay. Also there was a lovely choice of breakfast items and a friendly breakfast room. 👍🏻💖

Telstar is a well run inn that lives up to its billing; definitely recommended.

Very charming hotel, delightful and helpful staff, could not have been nicer. Close to (but up a hill from) St. David's train station.

Not a complaint -- to be expected in this kind of lodging -- but the rooms are snug. There's no lift, but the staff offers to help hoist the luggage upstairs. Shower water pressure was rather weak in one of our rooms.
