Location is excellent - opposite Exeter Central Station - frequent trains to St Davids.

Fantastic city centre location
Staff very helpful and friendly
Beautiful building
Sadly the hotel is looking very tired.
Threadbear carpet on the beautiful grand staricase. Room needs attention, certainly would benefit for re-decoration and bathroom re-fitted

Location was good
A dated property.
A poor breakfast set up which was more attuned to a take away process!

Staff friendly and welcoming. Facilities great. Clean and tidy.

Location and comfort.
The shower took several minutes to warm up, then only the overhead part worked.
The lifts were out of order.

I love the grand staircase and the stained glass windows
The room was exceptionally warm even though I turned the radiator right down. I opened the window but at night there were cars racing up and down, people outside screaming and shouting. I had the option of not sleeping because it was too warm, or not sleeping because it was too noisy.
The building itself was lovely and it felt like stepping back in time.
The side lamps were odd. If you wanted the side lamps on, the main lights came on too. There were strange black metal cylindrical lights, reminiscent of a torch, these worked without the overhead light.
The edges of the carpet on the grand staircase were frayed and definitely needed replacing as it tarnished an otherwise impressive feature.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The artwork, the stained glass windows on the landing, the chandeliers, the feel of the hotel and everything therein was very aesthetically pleasing. We came early, about four hours before check-in time, and we were able to store our luggage for £5. The location was wonderful, as we traveled by train and arrived at Exeter Central. The hotel was right across the street from the station, which made it absolutely perfect for us. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The facilities we're very clean. Our room was very nice, and not lacking in any amenities. It was very quiet, and we were able to get the rest that we needed.
The lifts were out of order. Which didn't really affect us as we were traveling light but there were other guests that were struggling with their luggage as they were elderly and had to carry very heavy bags up the stairs. There was no one to assist them.
Was very comfortable, however, the king size bed was not the most comfortable as it was just two singles pushed together without any kind of topper, just a sheet and a mattress protector. When laying across the gap it was uneven and uncomfortable. We originally requested a double bed, and while I appreciate them giving us the "upgrade," it would have been nice to have had a more comfortable mattress. The floor in the bathroom was raised up about an inch from the rest of the room. I did not notice it until I stubbed my toe rather painfully going into the bathroom. All the lights in the room were controlled by the main switch by the door. There was no way to operate them individually which kept the room very bright at all times. The only lights that were not affected were too small pen-like lights that were on each side of the bed. The room was either extremely illuminated or not illuminated enough.

Reception and waiting staff so friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was very good (especially the sausages). The room was large and public areas of the hotel were very impressive and clean (lovely Victorian building). Nice bathroom and good shower. Bed comfortable.
The room was a bit hot and the windows (for safety reasons) don't open all the way. No fan in cupboard. I understand that it is a budget issue, but all cotton sheets / pillow cases would be so much nicer.

Beautiful building, great location. Staff lovely and room was exceptionally clean. Spacious and had a lovely bathroom. Comfy beds. And well lit!
Lack of sound proofing. Walls are super thin!!! Our neighbours came back around 10.30pm. Could hear them chatting etc.
He snored ALL NIGHT LONG. And she had a cough bless her. It was soo loud. We had little sleep and it ruined our next day. I was staying with my 13 year old, just pleased they didn’t get intimate, or we’d have had to leave!!!!

The location was good
The bedding and towels were dirty
And the rooms are made up every 3 days The towels were replaced however they were old and had stains on them

Location and the parking although the cost of parking is high. I think it should be included in the hotel if a guest
The room was cold. I looked for extra blankets or covers and there weren’t any. It was very old fashioned, the reception staff for night shift talked too much and to be honest arriving at 11pm we just wanted to get settled asap

The relaxation experience staff provide. Location of hotel
The bathroom showers aren’t the best when it comes to hot water. I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times now and every room I’ve had, the hot water has a mind of its own.

Very good location
After staying there for several years we noticed that it is now looking very tired & tatty but, breakfast has always been good! However, our last stay the breakfast was awful. Jugs of juices not re filled coffee machine broken & hot food rather cold!, I’m sure you were served at the table before with coffee but not this time?

Perfect location for railway station and venue i was visiting in city centre.
Bathroom was good, but the water from the shower wasn't very warm, certainly couldn't stand under it, so only got a splash wash.

Amazing staff and great location
PLEASE put some drawers in the rooms so one doesn’t have to live out of a suitcase.

Great location, friendly staff, character of building. 2 minutes from central station, 3 minutes from high street.
No fridge in room. Also no moisturiser provided which usually is in this calibre of hotel. Room lights were either all on or all off save for small bed reading light and it would have been nice to have less stark brightness but still be able to see clearly.
Breakfast range ok but could be expanded to make it more interesting.
Downside of central location was late evening noise as overlooked the front but wasn’t all night.

Perfect location
Had room at the front of the hotel 215, really noisy outside until about 4 am as only one piece of secondary glazing present.

Location great. Clean hotel, staff amazing.
The shelf in the bathroom room no6 (but that’s being picky it didn’t spoil our stay and the hotel was immaculately clean)

Very good location and parking at the hotel is a plus
The bed was not very comfortable. The pillows - one was flat and the others lumpy and well used.
At breakfast they say the eggs were cooked fresh, which is good but caused a queue of people waiting for eggs to be cooked.

Nothing, will definitely stay there again.

Location. Impressive entrance and appearance external and internal but would not return see below
Walked straight in to an argument with the receptionist over parking. Insisted I had to pay £12.50 for parking in the car park for the one night. Booking on Booking.Com simply said parking no mention of charge as I told her. I refused . This was after a 3 hr drive there. Also my room was on the very top floor floor 4 with lift only to 3 then four flights of stairs to floor 4 at age 80 ( or any age ).and same nightly charge as for lower floors and not discounted.
