Great location, friendly staff, room was clean, comfortable, and cosy. If it wasn't for the debacle of breakfast, I would've rated it 9 stars - one star deducted for no USB port in the room
Breakfast. I ordered vegetarian sausage, beans, scrambled eggs, and brown toast. When my food arrived I noticed the white toaat but put that down to an easy mistake.. It wasn't until I cut into the sausage that I realised it was PORK sausage. I immediately told the staff member who was apologetic and took my plate away. Short time later my plate came back and as I was eating the sausage, I noticed the beans and eggs were cold, I looked at the photo I took of my plate when I was first served breakfast (for feedback purposes as up until that point I was impressed with my stay). I realised that they had simply removed the pork sausage from the plate and replaced it with a vegetarian sausage, so I was eating a vegetarian sausage that was sat in juices from the pork sausage Clearly, they don't care about cross-contamination when it comes to meat eaters & vegetarians. I wasn't complaining again as I lost all trust in the food department.

We had a very comfortable stay. Lovely comfortable bedding and good tea and coffee making facility. Good breakfast selection. Excellent evening meal menu with plenty to choose. The food was absolutely delicious.
The only thing was the bathroom. The shower tray and window had mould and there was a kind of musty smell.

The location was excellent, the staff were very helpful the rooms were clean, the bed comfy and good extra pillow.
Food was good too
The overall hotel could do with a bit of a refresh, the bathroom especially was quite tired.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay here.
The room was lovely and warm, beds very comfortable, and room was equipped with everything you needed.
We had both dinner, and breakfast and the food was lovely on both occasions.
Staff very friendly,and knowledgeable.
Amble parking.
We would definitely stay again.

Friendly staff, cosy old traditional pub, value for money, good food. The pub is in a lovely location (from what we could see in the mist and rain).
Would have liked a room away from the road but it wasn't too loud. Although the room and bathroom were clean and had what you need, they would benefit from an upgrade -but that is expensive in this day and age. It wouldn't put us off staying again.

Breakfast was adequate
The room was in desperate need if updating, The bathroom was disgusting with a cracked sink, tiles lifted from the wall and grout missing. Shower had no power.

It was the perfect location, in the countryside, and very reasonable price for the room and meal we had on a weekday. Friendly staff. The room was on the ground floor with it's own access. A large bedroom room and bathroom. Controllable heating. Extra children's beds, If needed. Ironing board and iron. Quiet, with parking. Very clean.
Lovely Full English breakfast.
Some cosmetic decorating could be done. The TV channels were limited.

Good location for where we needed to be. Nice pub and plenty of parking. Good size room and very warm.
Over priced for the room but maybe due to the time of year. Bathroom in desperate need of redecoration/upgrading.

Helpful and friendly staff. Warm and spacious room with a good sized TV. Good hot shower. Comfy beds. Good value food at the pub next to the accommodation. Filling breakfast. Affordable overnight accommodation.
The room was a little tired and gloomy, with cobwebs on the ceiling. Carpet could have done with a thorough vac

Tv reception was bad although wifi was ok

Accommodation was comfortable and clean. Rooms were warm although tired and need some attention to mould in the bathroom. Beautiful tiled fireplace in the bedroom but no fire (even a fauls one for effect)? Real ale a treat.
Despite having open fires and radiators the main bar and restaurant were always cold. Hardly anyone tended to the log fires which went dead regularly. This meant keeping outside coats on all the time, not a good idea when dining.

Very warm
The bathroom was an absolute disgrace - moldy, shabby, broken shower door - all disgusting. Come on Greene King, rip it out and replace.

Location, the pub/restaurant, food
Room was in need of updating in places. Patches of paint missing in bathroom, leather headboard needed replacing. Was very busy when we arrived to check in. Sign explaining about the change in reception area, not in a great place so missed it at first.

Staff friendly and helpful, the evening food was very good we ate on 3 occasions and had no issues.
Cooked breakfast was good only downside was it was not hot enough only warm.
Room needed some updating, radiators very noisy,
As we had room facing road it was constance traffic noise. Car park had large potholes needs resurfacing.

The breakfast was good but we would have liked some fruit other than apples to eat with the yogurt.

Although a little tired, the room was comfortable enough. The radiator in the bathroom needed bleeding as no heat was coming through, but the bathroom was adequate. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed dinner too. The bed was fine.
Chilly bathroom.

If you're looking for just a sleep and a shower, then this is a nice Inn! I was out everyday, so this was perfect for me.
Nothing about the Inn, but it is quite far from everything, so a car or a taxi are a must.

Very convenient location to where we were working, friendly staff nothing was too much bother. Food was great
Bedrooms a little tired looking
8.0 / 10.0
The rustic look and the old time look matched what we look for. The comfortable beds, the open fire in the bar.
The price of the food compared to the size of the serving. I paid £19.99 for an 8oz sirloin served with literally 10 fries and some rocket salad. Very poor choice on the menu.

Breakfast was outstanding, best we have had for a long time. Service was excellent served by Doug who was very attentive. Booking in early was no problem.
