Forthay Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful location and house, friendly host.

The house was lovely and the host was very welcoming, the room was a good size and the breakfast was nice, the bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep

I hate to be that person but there were a few things that if attended to, would have improved our stay, the room was quite dark and needed a bit of a dust, there was a strange clicking sound coming from under the window seat which was a bit annoying, especially during the night, on removing one of the cushions it was clear that the wood was infested by some sort of creature, the door to the room didn't have a lock which we felt was a bit strange, the bin in the bathroom hadn't been changed since the previous guests and the water and milk for the tea and coffee was left in Chilly bottles so both smelt a bit odd, we bought some granola when we left (which is made at the property) when we got home we realised the best before date was Jan 2026, I'm sure it'll still be fine but £6.50 was a bit steep when it was out of date 😉

Beautiful grade 2 listed property. Stunning gardens . Comfortable bed. Good quality breakfast . Charles pleasant host.

Room extremely dusty. Thick dust on mirror tops and skirting boards badly stained carpets and sofa. Lots of cobwebs especially on light fitting over bed which we wiped down. Bathroom needed attention scummy shower tray and fittings. Thick dust on top of bin and toilet brush holder. Needs a proper deep clean.
