    The staff were all very friendly and professional. Fabulous location in an amazing historical house with original architecture. Vey convenient for the motorway. It was an exceptionally hot day but a fan had been left on in the room. Fortunately it did cool down later. The bed was very comfortable. I would have like a feather pillow but I had brought my own. We had a meal in the restaurant, seated in the window. I have allergies and the staff were professional but also understanding as sometimes I can feel embarrassed. The food was cooked perfectly. I had the seabass, better than a mitchelin star restaurant that we had dined in earlier that week. I am very particular about my food 😊 If we are in the area again I would definitely return. Not something we usually do as there are so many new places to discover. Also, plenty of parking even though the hotel was full.

    Arrived at hotel, check in was swift and pleasant. Can’t really find fault with anything during stay. Really enjoyed the room, the Poole and food and drink. Would recommend and would come back in the future.

    I found the hotel grounds and most of the communal areas to be clean and well maintained however the corridors and rooms did not live up to my expectations based on the photos and reviews I had previously read. The hotel is dated inside and has not been refurbished or maintained by the looks of it. The windows in my room were crusty and had paint coming off them - the rooms are also extremely hot in the summer months and without air conditioning, it is sweltering. The fans provided in the rooms unfortunately do not do the job and were covered in dust. I was also very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom - just not up to the standards I’d expect and then daily cleaning wasn’t much of a clean, more of a towel change, an addition of toilet rolls and a quick tuck of the bedsheets under the mattress - pillows were even left as is! The hotel has lovely grounds and the breakfast room is nice. The swimming pool and spa were not tried but on first impressions looked quite basic. We had a nice stay overall but won’t be recommending or re-visiting. Most of the staff were fairly unfriendly - some level of customer service training is definitely required.
