Lots of excellent facilities, first class. From dining/drinking to relaxing. Brilliant range at breakfast.
Rome was okay, but bathroom dated. Grab rail in the bath loose, rad had a leek which looked on going. Bathroom especially needs TLC.

Breakfast was excellent and the spa facilities were nice. Beautiful location and whole feel of the building was perfect
The only disappointment we had was my lemon meringue pie dessert with my dinner in the Atrium, it was very poor compared to everything else we ate and drank.

Beautiful hotel - consistently good. Staff are welcoming. They all have a smile and a hello whoever you see around the hotel. Lovely big room, comfy beds, good shower. Food is fabulous.
Great to have the pool and spa.
We love staying here.

I was part of a group. The dining room was prepared for us well in advance but we were not rushed over our pre-dinner drinks
The quality of food was not as high as I had expected.
I had roast lamb which was not as tender as it should have been
The pastry on the lemon meringue pie was tough
There was no black pudding available at breakfast

The hotel and grounds are absolutely stunning. Our room was amazing, very spacious with a very comfy bed and pillows. We had dinner in the restaurant which was really lovely, the staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was really nice.
Nothing to mention really, we had quite a long walk from reception to our room but it was worth it as this is such a gorgeous place to stay

The property is absolutely gorgeous! It’s very much a labyrinth, but a beautiful venue overall.
There were no complimentary slippers or toiletries which is quite standard practice in a 4-star accommodation. And the slippers were particularly needed in such an old building with cold floors.
Also, the shampoo and shower gel in our shower were actually heavily diluted, potentially by guests, but staff could pay a little more attention.

I love that the property is really old and well kept we had a two night day there and really enjoyed it. Staff were brilliant. Couldn't have asked much better.
I can't say there's anything we didn't like about it

Unfortunately not alot. Some staff in the bistro.
One of the dirtiest places I’ve ever stayed at!!!!

Absolutely beautiful main house and gardens, very attentive and welcoming staff. We stayed for breakfast which was of excellent quality and ingredients. Superb evening meal, although drinks were expensive.
Stayed in a standard courtyard room which was a bit tired. The wooden window was broken and didn’t shut properly. The grout in the shower, on the shelf, around bath handles and the window cill need a good bleach as mouldy. Very disappointing for the cost of the room and standard of hotel.

The grounds were very beautiful. Breakfast was tasty and offered a good selection of choices. The parking was good.
There was only one size of pillows (thick/high) available, so we did not have a good sleep, stuck in a one-pillow-too-low/two-too-high limbo.
The room had only one small window so it would not ventilate properly.
The bedding was made of polycotton blend and therefore we got very sweaty at night.
I would prefer smaller bottles of toiletries rather than large ones, which are accompanied by a rather cheerfully passive-aggressive note stating that if we like them and take them, we will be charged £30.
The walls are super thin - we could hear the couple next door having an intercourse!
While parking is available, it was quite a trek in the labirynth of corridors to get to our room.
Only one hour of SPA included in the price of the room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the woman who worked in the spa. The location was breathtaking, and the outside of the hotel was beautiful and grand.
The standard of the hotel from the outside looked a lot nicer than sadly the reality inside. It sells itself as a luxe country side stay, but felt more like a budget airport hotel at times. The food was awful, microwave nachos with salsa and guacamole out of a bag, and the drinks were incredibly expensive. The food was genuinely Weatherspooons quality, which really wouldn’t be so bad if the hotel didn’t market itself as being some else. The whole advertisement just feels disingenuous. The room was fine, it was warm and the bed was comfortable and relatively clean. The carpet in the room and the rest of the hotel felt tired. The spa was alright, although it felt a bit dirty with hair and an bandaid on the floor. Also not an huge deal, but it feels like overall there was just a lack of detail missing. The staff were lovely however, and worked really hard to make it a nice experience, so I want to give a big shout out to them.

This was our second time here and we loved it again. The staff is lovely, the food is nice and the room was very comfortable. We were upgraded which is always nice! I would recommend and I'm sure we will stay again in the future. The whole place it's beautiful.
The spa seems too small for the size of the hotel. It would be nice if there was another hot tub, and a larger siting area, sauna or steam room as it can get quite busy.

Fantastic, hotel and grounds, easy to get to, a few minutes off jun 14 M5. The public areas are everything you want from such a beautiful building. The food quality is good a little pricey but overall we were very happy
The bedrooms not in the main building are in serious need of refurbishment, very disappointed. No toilet brush in the bathroom, the heated towel rail didn’t work.

The way the new modem furniture compliments the old restored building’s characteristics. Staff attentive , friendly & helpful. Loved the Christmas decorations 🎄
There were some cobwebs in top corner of bedroom but literally this was the only thing negative about our stay

Breakfast was very good. Great choice of food and drink. Cooked breakfast was hot so too were the plates. Nice selection of bread. Plenty of preserves to choose from. Gluten free options too and milk alternatives.
Would have been nice to have a little more relaxed seating.

This hotel is beautiful, the rooms were warm and well appointed. The beds were comfy and the suit spacious. The spa facilities were nice and part of the experience, we used the indoor pool which was set to 30C. The staff were helpful and friendly.
While I enjoyed my time at this hotel, there were some aspects that were at odds with the experience presented online, even as a 4 star hotel.
At times it almost feels like a budget airline. You’ve booked bed and breakfast but now everything is an extra charge, want an umbrella, extra charge. Want slippers at the spa, extra charge, want breakfast delivered to your room, extra service charge…
It was also really odd for a hotel like this to have one ply toilet paper.
Moreover, they don’t show their room types very clearly on the website or the portal, you would think the more expensive room was the better room, but according to the concierge this was not the case. She noted dynamic pricing was in use, but even so, it doesn’t make sense. When I called she mentioned that the junior suite, mansion suite and executive suite were better than the courtyard suites, but when you book the courtyard suits are the most expensive.
I expected a lot more of the breakfast to be honest, but in fairness it was adequate. I think in contrast to the building and space it seemed mediocre.
