Lovely little pub in the country.Great place to stop it was a nice touch to have continental breakfast in the morning. Stopped here for 3 nights, as was visiting my daughter at Stonehouse, so it was only a short drive away. Definitely. Come back if visiting my daughter again. Thanks for a great stay.
Quite country pub made very welcome Great walk river lovely place stop

Friendly welcome, great pub atmosphere and delicious food
Room was quite cool but there was a heater and we were soon cosy, no blind on the skylight

The pub atmosphere and food was good. Clearly the pub management is a priority, and rooms are completely neglected.
The rooms were dirty and need a good thorough clean, carpet needs changing. The room itself was very dark, no proper window there, only a tiny window on top. The mattress has to be the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on, could feel every single spring - woke up with a back pain. Shower water temperature is hard to regulate- it’s either super hot or cold. Overall experience of our stay was poor. It’s a shame, because location is lovely for walks etc.

The pub is in a quiet village, which was what we expected, Staff were all very good, attentive and friendly.
The breakfast was very good although unusually run; there was a basic continental breakfast in the rooms, which would have meant the group having breakfast separately -so we requested a cooked breakfast in the restaurant which turned out very good but they assumed we would all want a full english rather than waiting for our order - though they seemed happy enough to adjust it once we specified.
Perhaps would have preferred to know the breakfast arrangements before arriving to be better able to plan.

The Red Lion is located in a small village, with it's own car park. The staff were very polite and friendly and made us very welcome. The accommodation was very clean and included and en suite . There was a really good menu choice. The pub was busy on the Friday night with a lovely local atmosphere.
Nothing to complain about

The room is in a quiet building at the end of the pub, convenient for popping round in the evening for food and drinks, but also nice and quiet. The room was very imaginatively and delightfully decorated, and certainly comfortable. The village is in a picturesque, quiet loop of the Severn, so a great location for a break. Staff were very helpful and found a secure overnight location for our tandem.

We received a warm and friendly welcome. The pastries for breakfast, milk and juice were lovely.
We stayed Saturday night and heard little noise from the pub.
Good quality bedding.
Others have said in past reviews that the bed needs replacing and it does. It seems that the advice has not been taken. There is a dirty stain on the carpet and skirting board and it gives the impression of uncleanliness (although on closer inspection the room was clean).
We stayed for a wedding and walked to the venue and back - beware there is no pavement so worth a taxi if it’s dark.

Friendly welcome in a close knit community.
Carpet needed a clean - windows didn’t fully open.

Mattress could do with replacing, springs sre poking through!! Bed frame very creaky!

Close to the Severn. Nicely decorated room and comfortable bed. Not very noisy considering it was a pub. Pleasant staff.
Couldn't book dinner online as it was full for Mother's Day. No cooked breakfast available as the pub shuts on Monday. Posted keys through the front door when we left. Didn't fancy a shower as water came up the plug hole when you flushed the toilet. Also no plug in sink which made washing difficult.

We had such a lovely reception from the staff. The food in the restaurant of the pub was delicious. The croissants/cereals plus tea/coffee in the room was a nice touch and was unexpected.
We were staying for a friend's wedding up the road so the location was perfect.
The bed - unfortunately it's in real need for replacement. Could feel the springs when lying down and also any movement from either of us during the night caused it to creak.

We had a perfect time in Arlingham. A warm and cozy room, Continental breakfast at no extra cost. Very friendly staff and nice and hospitable people in the village. Pretty good place for having long walks and suitable for exploring Gloucester, Bristol, the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean.
Landlord Mark, who is also the chef, is truliy a magician in his kitchen. Perfect dinners, really imaginative and skillfully served. We will be glad to come back again in the future.

comfy bed, good parking , continental breakfast, takes dogs, separate entrance to pub. some nice local walks , particularly nice by The Old Passage Inn along the river Severn.
we found shards of glass in the bed, the toilet was not clean on arrival and half a toilet roll, no spare and no spare left on day two, we had to ask for one. Bin small and not emptied when breakfast was replenished. Bed really comfortable. pub expensive, bottle of cider £6 , pub down the road £3, food expensive and not a huge choice but nice. Try the Old Passage a mile down the road. Not enough care taken in room prep.

Goed bed.
