It is like a motel, 2 star

the location is close to the centre

Great hotel, clean, comfortable & friendly.

For the age of the hotel it was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. We were really impressed with the comfort of the bed and cleanliness. Staff were friendly and kind.

Location was okay - good if you need the train station but a bit out of the action. Our bathroom had a slant in the roof meaning we had to duck down to shower, I did bump my head quite hard. Also the shower head is low so you need to hold it the whole time. Suitcase doesn’t have much space but I wouldn’t let these things stop me from staying again.

I enjoyed my stay because the staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good too.

The room was very nice with a table and TV. They provided little bottles of shampoo, shower gel and body lotion and the bathroom itself was very clean. The breakfast had great variety. The staff was also super welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Ok let down by large coach parties

Clean hotel room serviced well good for railway station

This hotel took coaches off about 50 to 60 people each night we were there, so breakfast was well picked over and not replenished very quickly the first morning we went down early as we were on a trip the dining room had No clean tables and one waitress on duty. After that we went down later but the choice of food especially hot was very limited. If we had known this we would not have booked the hotel, I can’t see any reviews re this problem.

The city is pleasant, beautiful, but the hotel is not worth it.

The location is far from the old city center, but you can go along the banks of the Salzach river for a walk...a bit long, but pleasant.

I was in Salzburg for the first time 5 years ago and I stayed at a 4 star hotel, centrally located. We liked the city and would gladly return. But this hotel we stayed in now was a total disappointment. I think we were assigned the smallest and ugliest room in the hotel. I understand that there may be a slight difference between the picture on the website and the reality on site... but it was incredibly small, with only 1 chair and at our insistence an additional chair was brought to the room. Although the website states that the room is equipped with a minibar, we were forced to pay extra for it🤔. The reception staff was not at all friendly. The breakfast was not very diverse and there were a few sweet products. The classification as a 4 star hotel is not justified. Quality-Price = Negative

Very pleasant and comfortable hotel with excellent staff.

The Hotel Scherer is in a quiet location, it was very clean throughout and the room and bed were very comfortable. The breakfasts offered a good selection of hot and cold foods and catered very well for a wide variety of tastes and preferences. The staff were always very helpful, friendly and considerate, and the table waiting team at breakfasts were very attentive. The hotel generally has a "traditional" feel to it, and they clearly set themselves high standards. It is within easy walking distance of the railway station, a flat walk of 5-10 minutes.

Although only 10-15 minutes' walk from the old centre of Salzburg, there are no restaurants or bars close by, and no bus or tram routes go past the hotel.

Clean and convenient but dated.

Breakfast was tasty but it was the same selection each morning. The coffee was very good. The room was quiet and spacious but dated. There was only restaurant style seating and there weren’t any comfortable chairs in which to sit and read or watch TV.

The bathroom shower was a weird arrangement. You could NOT stand under the shower unless you turn it toward the sink and then the glass shield wasn’t sufficient to contain the water in the tub. The key system should be changed to a digital card rather than having to turn it into the front desk each time you leave the hotel

On the whole it was a good experience.

Breakfast was very nice. Very pretty setting too.

The location wasn’t that great as we needed to catch a tram bus to get to the center. We also were disappointed that the hotel had no restaurant and there were hardly any restaurants in the vicinity.

during the stay tips was not required which was very thoughtful, as I put 2 euros on the table and still on the table when we returned, but tricky was, my hairclip and hairpin were missing~ probably left them in the last hotel, it’s very cheap but very useful

Very good value!

The cozy room is clean and comfortable. It also has a small table with 2 chairs. The bathroom is new and a good size. The optional breakfast is worth the price. Staff at the desk were very helpful.

Fantastic authentic and clean hotel!!!!

Clean friendly hotel, family run business and everyone was so accommodating. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone. The rooms have an additional table/seating area which is useful! Bathroom is the nicest bathroom I’ve seen, additional lighting and personal touch of a radio in the shower! It was super clean not a spot of dust in sight. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

No drawers in the bedroom when asked the manager replied that the room was only used for overnight stays When I said that I am staying for six nights I did not receive a reply. I also do not appreciate when asked on the first morning whether I had used the mini bar when I said no the receptionist queried my response!!!

Nice spacious room with a balcony and nice view of the garden. We had enough space for a family of three with a dog. The balcony was an unexpected, pleasant surprise. Getting the center was easy, although a relatively long walk along an underwhelming route. The decor seemed a little dated, but everything was very clean and well maintained. The shower had great water pressure.

Pretty steep price given location and decor. However, seemed on par with the prices in the city during the summer season.

Staff were so helpful. They even helped us with the local hotspots to visit with the map. Staff were generous enough to assist us with the Wifi, room services etc. Rooms were so clean and modern.

Pleasant

Good location: near central station, the river and a nice jazz club.

Not great communication: they told us our room was ready when it was not. The maids where not happy we arrived, and we did not get an excuse from reception. Also, the radio in the bathroom turned on (very loud) in the middle of the night.

The room is very clean and comfortable. The hotel reception staff and the lady who prepared the breakfast are friendly, helpful and thoughtful. The breakfast spread is hot and delicious. Fruits are super fresh. The hotel's location is a mere walking distance of around 500mtr to the Salzburg Train Station. We have a very pleasant stay in this hotel.
