Below average not worth the money despite a wonderful location

Cleaning is done without caution Hotel is way outdated, the facilities are old and need immediate renovations Not worth a 4 star hotel at all Not meeting international standards The furniture is broken, very badly equipped The breakfast is a total mess, very repetitive with poor quality.

Just in front of copacabana beach. Easy access with literally everything. If you need anything, just call the reception and you will have it.

Breakfast is the same for the whole length of my stay (sunday to sunday) but its forgivable since the sausage is nice and staff are very attentive

Checkin experience,Room size and view whole hotel was very clean.

Breakfast for me very busy and staff kept whipping plates cups away as soon as finished almost watching you so they could justify there job? SELECTION of foods was average on both days scrambled egg was watery and cold even at 7am and coffee was at best below average.Sadly this just ruined a small part of our experience.

There's much to improve.

The hotel is close to the beach what's good. The rooftop pool is great. The room had a decent size. Breakfast was good.

We arrived at the hotel around 10 am. on the day we were supposed to check in. The front desk person promised us to give us access to the room once it was ready, but it never happened. He gave rooms to everyone who was supposed to check in on that day at 3 as soon as they arrived at the hotel... except to us. In addition to that, the common areas were dirty, really dirty. In the room, there's a blue light on the ceiling always on, very uncomfortable.

Great location and friendly service – a pleasant stay!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July 2025. The location is excellent – right across the street from Copacabana Beach and just a short walk from a popular shopping street. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming throughout my stay. The rooms are spacious, although a bit worn and could use some renovation. Still, they were clean and comfortable. One of the highlights is the rooftop – there’s a pool, bar, sun loungers, and even a restaurant with great views. There’s also a gym available for guests. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Amazing staff, excellent location and comfortable/clean beds

Amazing staff, excellent location (you have 2 supermarkets near and a lot of stores) comfortable beds, good rooftop meal prices, nice pool and super clean hotel. Everyone working at the rooftop area are extremely nice and helpful, happy to serve and to give you tips, that’s really amazing! Billy and company at the rooftop bar are incredible! as same as Sousa and company at the breakfast area. The best asset of this hotel are the staff, definitely!

Check in is super slow, 15-20’ just to register and pay. Previous bed type requirements were not fulfilled but room location and view were as requested. They don’t have spa or any relaxing treatments if you want to rest and chill.

Great place

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The place itself was really nice—clean, comfortable, and well-kept. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I especially enjoyed the pool area; it was a great spot to relax. The views were absolutely amazing, both from the rooftop and from the room with a sea-side view. Breakfast was also amazing.

Big disappointment, far from Pestana high standards. Felt totally deceived

The location was good

The room measures on the reservation were 193 ft2. However the room only had 59 ft2. Besides other problems like founding cockrouchs on the bathroom, an unconfortable spring mattress that made my back hurt the entire stay, a couch older than me which was unusable, an air conditioner wich seems more with a waterfall and some other details like almost no food for breakfast arriving 15 minutes before close time and the answer was that we should come earlier, I felt deceived and turned my vacations with my wife on a poor experience. The staff only solved the air conditioner issue 2 days after complaining so those nights were even worse. Very bad experience for such a high daily rate and far from Pestana network high standards.

Amazing sea view over Copacabana beach, fabulous hotel.

An absolutely fantastic hotel in a lively location right on Copacabana beach. We splashed out on a King Suite with sea view after a month of backpacking around, and it was wonderful. A spacious room with large balcony directly overlooking the beach, and a great bathroom, comfy bed, well-stocked mini bar etc. The pool area is nice if a bit crowded- and we enjoyed a few lunches sitting there. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. A very memorable stay - highly recommended!! Upgrade if you can, we got a deal for the King Suite, as having a sea view and balcony was fabulous.

Overall, my stay was good. BUT for the amount of $ spent, our stay should have been great.

The soap is the worst smelling soap I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. The A/C stopped working twice: The first during the middle of the night and we woke up in a sweat. The second during the middle of the day around 1pm, which is arguably the hottest time of the day. The heat woke us from our afternoon nap. The hot tub within the room was damaged but functional.

The staff were excellent and let us have our room much earlier than typical check-in times. They also suggested some good places to visit. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The view from the pool on the roof is fantastic and the hotel location cannot be better.

One night, the wind was so strong that it felt like the walls were paper thin. It whistled through the gaps under the window and around the air conditioner, creating loud noises that made it difficult to sleep.

Great location, good staff but disappointing hotel

The location is fantastic, in front of the Copacabana beach. The hotel has a rooftop with a swimming pool, bar, and a great view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well served and varied, despite being a little crowed at certain moments.

The state of the hotel in terms of the construction is disappointing. Sure, it is an old building but it seems that was not very well kept for quite some time. The floor of our room was peeling off. We didn't dare to use the spiral staircase connecting the rooftop main deck to the upper level as it was almost completely rusted. One elevator has a problem exactly with the button to our room's floor. The outstanding location and great view, in my opinion, do not justify the rate we paid. We selected this hotel only because we had stayed in other Pestanas such as in Amsterdam and Lisbon and found them very good. This one in Rio does not resemble the Pestana experience we had elsewhere. Maybe 3 stars and the related room rate would be more adequate.

Best location, kind staff and excellent breakfast

Stayed here before 2 times and I came back for all the reasons below: Excellent location, accommodations, good pool with excellent view. Comfortable rooms, god bed and renovated bathroom. Not too spacious but just what you need. The highlight of the hotel is the staff and breakfast: Rooftop staff Eliane, adilson and Kaylanne were super helpful, kind and always keen to please the guest, awesome staff selection. Staff at the reception, Marcs, was super kind and comprehensive with all our needs, a big star for him! At breakfast good selection and variety of food, pan de queijo incredible! Eggs any style you ask. Bruno y Sousa always with a smile on their faces, quick to arrange a good table so you don’t miss the beach a second. Conclusion, excellent staff, location and breakfast.
