Location and facilities are good.
Hotel rooms are dated, worn out and in need of repair. Expensive for what it is.

I didn't like i could not stay longer

What a gorgeous location: our view from our corner suite was heavenly. We left the sliding doors open to listen to the waves crashing as we slept. The pool area & restaurants were very appealing. The staff's level of service was fantastic.
Our bathroom was a little tired and needs new chrome wear, a working laundry line and repair to the leaking bath tub faucet. The room carpets desperately need a good clean. The suite has the potential to be FANTASTIC.
Drinks are v expensive as one expects at a Sheraton.
We'd stay here again for sure.

Great location on a private beach with stunning views
Run down rooms. My first room didn’t have hot water, there were stains on the carpet and bedding. The management was responsive and moved me into a better room. Thank you, Rodrigo!

We come every year because of the Kids Club with GG and his team. And also because of the pool area with its perfect host Ronaldo.
Price ist really high at Holiday time, but as the hotel is full,...

Nice pool, beach right next to it. Comfortable room. Great location. Very nice staff.
We were on floor 20 and there was a werid smell. The elevators didn’t work really well and it always took along time for them
To an arrive. The options for lunch and dinner by the pool weren’t great.

A typical large spacious and busy hotel with a diverse clientel. The staff were very welcoming and most spoke English which made life easier for us! Breakfast was plentyful with all the choices available. We asked for seaview rooms which were allocated to us. The pool and gym facilities were available and we were able to take a run down the main road to Leblon beach most mornings which was a bonus fo us. Ubers to and from the city centre were used whic we found to be cheap and efficent although the hotel does operate a free bus service.
The decoration and furntiture in our room was dated and two of the chairs were thread bare and worn. Wallpaper was peeling of the walls in the corridor and stains on the carpet. The conclusion was that we were in an older part of the hotel which required refubishment. We had been away of this from previous traveller reviews.
The swimming pool was not clean. Tissues and leaves were not removed and at the time of our visit the tiles in the actual pool were in need of a deep clean.
Having stayed in other Sheratons across the world our stay was a little disappointing.

I received an upgrade to the 18th floor, which I appreciate it very much.
Bene Restaurante was a a disaster, twice. I ordered the COD, it arrived well done instead of moist.
COD takes only maximum 3-4 mins to cook, anything longer ruins the fish. I’m cooking too.
This happened last year too. I asked the Host, to remove the charge, this did not happen.
Casa Da Cachaca’s menu should be revived. Too many Pomme Frites. Offer a nice Quiche Loraine, or a nice fruffly omelette, there are so many options. Please.

Everything was really good, in general… facilities, restaurants, recreational areas, and service.
6.0 / 10.0
Beautiful location and lots of great things about the hotel, pool, beach, gym, meals and staff were great. Let down by the sewage system from the Victorian age, and general age of the decor. Seriously needs updating with new carpets and furniture on the rooms, cleanliness is great in the restaurants but the age of the rooms means it is difficult for them to make a huge impact.

This is my second time at Sheraton in Rio and I absolutely think is the best hotel in Rio! I have stayed already in many different places, but the fact that inside Sheraton you have everything makes a big difference in a complex city like Rio. The rooms are big and super comfortable. Staff are friendly and always willing to help… Concierge’s are super knowledgeable and helpful. The fact that they have many restaurants inside the hotel and also the pool service is very cool. The beach in front of the hotel is so nice! You don’t need to leave the hotel if you don’t want to (although would be a big mistake, since you are in Rio 😉).
It’s also possible to go for a nice walk/cycle from the hotel to Leblon beach, which is super nice! I specially recommend this hotel for foreigners visiting Rio for the first time that seek a more comfortable experience.
The windows could be more soundproofed. But in Brazil this is hard to find - couldn’t find any hotel yet that has good isolation. We are in the 24th floor and could hear still noises from the street.

Everything was perfect, they allowed us to check in early and upgraded our room and benefits for a reasonable fee. They also stored our luggage on our day of departure. Staff speak English and the resort is fantastic. Don't miss out on this one!!!

You attract with the private beach of the hotel.
It is an old hotel which is affected on the rooms and facilities.

Amazing location on a beach just past Ipanema. Friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of restaurants with good food. Tennis courts overlooking the sea!
Had to ask for my room to be cleaned a few times. The pool area and rooms could use some renovation.

Location (not your typical Rio hotel on Copacabana/Ipanema), this hotel is literally on a very nice small beach (not private, but easily accessible and safe), great breakfast with lots of options, comfortable room with great sea view. Very helpful concierge desk. Bikes available for a stroll over Leblon/Ipanema beaches. Good restaurants on the resort.
Pool area is clearly dated, broken chairs here and there. Pool bar/food not the best. All other restaurants in the hotel were great!

The breakfast choices were very good. The location with direct access to the beach.
The daily cleaning of our room was hit and miss, and not always cleaned well. The bedding was only changed after I stripped it myself. The bedding was also stained.

Very comfortable, staff very helpful, clean, location also good. great view
not all the charges were clearly explained during check in
there was a daily extra charge of 50 reais to use the resort(pool) , for instance . why it is not part of the accommodation price if it is not optional?

We had a few very irritating problems during our stay because a) the location, b) the staff’s poor communication with us and each other (not due to language - we are native Brazilians), and c) the hotel cleanliness/maintenance.
First of all, we arrived at 11 am. The checkin was 3, so I asked for early checkin and it was not available (which is understandable) … but they didn’t give us our key until 4pm! One hour late…
On the first day that we tried the breakfast restaurant (which was our second morning at the hotel) we were told we didn’t have to pay, since we have two rooms on one reservation with breakfast included for everybody. On the next day, we were stopped at the restaurant door by a different host saying the opposite, that only three people were included on our breakfast plan and the rest would have to pay. We were under the impression (reinforced by the girl the previous day) that we were all clear on the included breakfast plan (note that we are now three days into our 6-night stay). However, he couldn’t check with his supervisor because the computer system was down. Here’s the lack of communication - every person we talked to told us a different thing, which was so irritating. If we had been told from the get-go that our plan only included three guests, we could have added the plan or adjusted our breakfast plans. We didn’t have breakfast there anymore, but then, on the last day at check out, they were charging us 345R$ for breakfast (for the one day that we were told it was included). Granted, the guy at the reception dropped the charge, but if I hadn’t paid attention I was about to pay it! It just felt like we were getting scammed.
Next, in our room, we had a drip from the bath tub faucet that, when in shower mode, would drip down from the lip of the tub onto the floor, so we had to put towels down to catch it, otherwise our bathroom floor would be flooded!

Great location with spectacular views and a beautiful beach.
Everything in the hotel worked well, and was child friendly.
Slightly too big to feel cozy, but with no major issues.
