Unfortunate timing i think !!

We stayed before it was great . This time we arrived late and taken to our room . Immediately we left the lift this terrible smell hit us . In our room it still smelt so we opened the window in the hope it would go away . It did not unfortunately. So not a good night . ! Thought about trying to move in the middle of the night but decided it was so late for an up heavil.

A fantastic place to stay while visiting Rio and the beaches of Ipanema!

The Arena Ipanema Hotel truly had it all! Clean, modern rooms, a convenient location, and a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Rio.

Our room overlooked the park and the alley used by pedestrians heading to and from the beach. Through no fault of the hotel, the area was unusually noisy in the evenings and early mornings, with occasional bursts of loud music. As a result, it was difficult to get a restful night’s sleep. During our stay, the elevator button on the 4th floor was not functioning and we had to take the service elevator every time we wanted to go downstairs.

Great location. Felt safe walking around neighbourhood. Loved the rooftop bar and pool setting and views with colorful sunsets. Very generous and varied breakfast buffet. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Quality and comfortable

Perfect location , steps away from the beach , super convenient to explore Ipanema , Copacabana and Leblon in waking distance. The staff were always friendly and efficient. I truly enjoyed my stay there and strongly recommended it

Overall, it's a good hotel

The treatment we got from the staff was beyond our expectations. They changed the room for us since fhe first one was smelly and they assisted us with all our requests.

With all generosity, this is not a four-star hotel; at best, it can be considered a three-star property.

The location is excellent, and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Breakfast requires waiting in line for a table, which is not ideal. The room had only one power outlet, which was very inconvenient. There is no complimentary water—bottles are placed in the fridge in a way that suggests they are free, but you are charged at checkout. The hotel itself feels outdated and lacks basic amenities, such as a coffee machine in the room for a simple morning coffee.

Perfect location between Copacabana and Ipanema . Very kind staff

Best location if you want to be between copacabana and ipanema - perfect also for iconic sunset and sunrise . The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A delight.

Beds a little too soft for my taste, but that is very much a personal preference. Also worth noting that the pool appears bigger on the photos .

Fun getaway in a good location but disappointed for the price

The pictures created unfair expectations -- the rooftop was not as nice as it looked, the pool was very small, and the rooms itself were nothing special. For one thousand reais a night, or more, I expected something better, Next time I will pay more to stay at a place worth the money, or spend less to have the same amount of comfort. also -- restaurant food and drinks were expensive and bad.

Rooms a bit small but the bed was too soft, very poor lighting in the room (nice if you want it cosy, but you can't turn more lights on to find things), no non-slip mat in the shower (and it needed one)

Bad and dangerous hotel

Let's start with the fact that everything you see in the pictures is different. I don't recommend going near there. Antichy hostile place. I didn't reserve places, I was supposed to stay there for 10 days, I left there after on the third day. Rude manager who refused to return the money. They let me leave at night. Antshimi place, an unsafe place, I advise you not to go near there. Even Booking did not service my complaints. Do not approach or book a very dangerous place. do not recommend

Lovely hotel, good food, poor gym.

The Staff were great and really helpful, and having the pool was a blessing when the beach was so full, being a weekend! Breakfast and the food in the restaurant was wonderful (although I am not sure what was in the bolognese on the kids menu...it didn't taste right).

The gym was near on useless for a couple to work out. You can't use more than 1 piece of the weights equipment at the same time. I booked this hotel because it had a gym, and paid for that privilege, so it was very disappointing that it was really a home gym for 1 person! And no free weights, which would have made it more user friendly.
