Beautiful Boutique Hotel with very caring staff

Breakfast was wonderful, location was wonderful, staff was very helpful, kind, courteous and personable. The property is beautiful. We were bummed the breakfast was not being served on the rooftop when we were there, however I understand they do so in the summertime.

Our family of five — three of us in our 70s, our daughter, and our 1-year-old grandson — had a wonderful stay at Hotel Marina in Monterosso. From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm, kind, and genuinely helpful, making us feel right at home. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with comfortable, spotless rooms and thoughtful touches throughout. The highlight for all of us was the rooftop lemon garden — a peaceful oasis filled with sunshine, fresh citrus, and charm. Mornings began with a complete, delicious breakfast featuring fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and local specialties — everything prepared with care and served with a smile. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our multigenerational group, always offering assistance and making sure we had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better — quiet yet just a short stroll from the beach, shops, and restaurants. We left with full hearts and lasting memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking genuine hospitality and authentic Italian warmth in the heart of Cinque Terre.

The WiFi didn’t work in our room and you could hear when other people would wake up as the walls were very thin.

The breakfast was the highlight of this place for us. Full service breakfast served at the rooftop terrace, top notch service, surrounded by the iconic lemon trees of Cinque Terre. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were kind and informative. The hotels if perfectly located for those who want to be in the middle of it all but at the same time want space from the crowd.

I do pay attention to details and noticed some minor flaws on my room here and there like, LED lights hanging off the wall, shower knobs were confusing and the installation work looked a bit sloppy, screws for wall panels were visible.

Hotel Marina was excellent. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. The room was absolutely beautiful and came with rustic charm and everything you needed. The location was excellent. Food was delicious. I loved it all and would love to return.

The hotel was beautiful so not very much!! There wasn't a pool, but I think pools are rare in these old towns of italy, and wasps were a little bit of a problem on the terrace above the lemon garden, but im not sure the hotel could have done anything about that. So, there's not much to complain about, really.

Best hotel + restaurant combo in Monterosso

A very nice hotel suited for our family of 8. We booked 3 rooms for 3 nights 6 months in advance and wish we could have stayed longer. Conveniently located a short distance from the beach with lots of cute restaurants and shops near by. The staff here were kind, patient, friendly and helpful. The made to order breakfast in the lemon garden was just divine! Everything on the menu was fresh, delicious, it has alot of options to choose from. The hotel’s restaurant Da Eraldo was also excellent. We went there 3 nights in a row. Even though we’re a foodies family and will typically research, seek the best places to eat, try different restaurants in the town during our vacations, we enjoyed the food and pricing at Da Eraldo that much to go there multiple times. We ordered everything from fresh sea bass, grilled squid, pulpo, steak, seafood platter, pastas, all were yummy. It was also nice that the hotel staff rotate to work between the hotel and restaurant, they knew our family and treated us kindly. We had a great experience here as a family, everyone in our family loved it and we will definitely choose it again in the future. It was our best stay during our 2 weeks trip in Italy.

We loved it here! The location was close to town, up in an adorable alleyway. They have a bar inside, a lemon tree garden terrace with free American style breakfast with both scrambled eggs and omelets. Simply a great place to stay! Highly recommend!

While I would have liked my own iron in the room they have a shared access to it which was not a problem; a steamer would have been better.

The hotel was located in a charming area of monterosso. The AC was exceptional and felt so good when we came back from hiking in the heat. It was very cool in our room. We also loved the free breakfast in the lemon terrace every morning. The restaurant that the hotel owns was very good too!

The rooms were slightly small but it was fine since we didn’t spend much time in there.

Every morning waking up to a hot breakfast in a beautiful setting is a lasting memory.

Location was perfect. Close to shops and restaurants. Hotel also has a cute little restaurant / bar downstairs. Included in the room rate was an unbelievable breakfast served in the lemon garden. You don’t want to miss it. Rooms are small and quaint. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we were given a small souvenir from Monterosso when we left. So glad we found this hidden gem.

Rooms are not modern looking, a more “homespun” style. This was not an issue for us. The room was very clean and included everything we needed (including beach towels). And for the price, you couldn’t beat it.

Don't just a book by its cover. The inside is a delight.

From the first hello it was so friendly. We wish we had been able to stay our whole time in Monterosso at the Marina but it was only our last night because they were already booked out. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight.

It's got a homely feel to it, was beautiful.

We loved the welcoming helpful staff, the all you can eat breakfast was superb and the cleanliness was spot on. The location was perfect for us to do the hike.

The only thing we didn't like was the toilet placement was very close to the wall, making it very hard to fit your legs in and use. Apart from that, everythinh else was fantastic, can't fault it.

Location , v friendly staff, excellent breakfast! Hotel has restaurant Da Eraldo down the street where guests get -10% discount and the food is absolutely fantastic! and the atmosphere! Hotel also offers discounted CT Train Pass so that's helpful.

*Minor issues* -- Rooms not well insulated (so we heard other guests' noises!), interior design not that great, bathroom door v stiff

The hotel is in a great location in a quiet alleyway. The staff were lovely and helpful. The lemon terrace for breakfast was very special. Breakfast is delicious. The associated restaurant is fabulous. It’s also good that you can get the discounted CT pass from the hotel.

Although the location was quiet the walls of the hotel itself were very thin so you could hear people using bathrooms and talking. The decor is a bit dated with lace drapes around the bed-head and thin frilly curtains plus there are unnecessary ornaments in an already small space.

Lovely family run hotel

Good location - a 10 minute walk from station but it’s an easy walk on the level, no steps. Spacious bedroom with balcony. Bathroom needs updating. The sliding door to the bathroom was actually a wardrobe door which meant it only had a handle on one side. It was difficult to open and close the door when in the bathroom. Because the bathroom was small there was nowhere to hang towels. Good freshly cooked breakfast.

The breakfast was outstanding! Hot made to order omelets, scrambled eggs, waffles. The breakfast wait staff, a young man, was exceptional. The breakfast cooks were so responsive and fast with preparing all orders. The outdoor breakfast area amongst lemon trees was beautiful. The hotel is in old town Monterosso which is the least hilly of the 5 villages so rolling our luggage from the train station to hotel was not a major undertaking. The hotel also has a small elevator.

Staff person "Lina". She was so kind and helpful when we experienced a hiccup in our reservations. She was a lifesaver for our trip. She totally took care of us for 3 days! She was a joy to work with....such a lovely person. The breakfast was fantastic and in a beautiful lemon grove terrace. Location was great. Beds comfortable

How can you exceed having a breakfast freshly prepared for you while sitting in a grove of lemon trees! The food was incredible, and the staff were fantastic. The location was secluded, yet close enough to spend the day at the beach, or wander the streets.
