We loved the place. It was right in the heart of Gion where everything was walkable. The place itself was clean, quaint and gave us a feel for what it would be like to live there. Would highly recommend staying in a Machiya, such a cool experience.

Location and experience of Machiya was amazing. Having a washer was a super nice bonus.
The beds were Ok but not great but it's a little nitpicking as they were acceptable.
