Rinn Shijo Takasegawa

Rinn Shijo Takasegawa is simply one of the most magical places I have ever stayed in my life. Tucked along the historic Takasegawa Canal, a 400-year-old waterway once used to transport rice and sake through Kyoto, this beautifully restored Kyo-Machiya townhouse feels like stepping directly into a Studio Ghibli film. The narrow wooden structure, steep traditional staircases, and canal-side setting create an atmosphere no hotel could ever replicate. From the moment we arrived, bold gray herons patrolled the water just feet away, wandering over curiously to see if we'd share scraps, while the aromas of Kyoto's finest surrounding restaurants drifted through the air constantly. Yakitori smoke, simmering broths, grilling fish, and sweet mochi layered together into something truly intoxicating. Five minutes in any direction the Golden Week crowds were impenetrable, but here beside the canal it was peaceful, timeless, and utterly alive. If you ever have the chance to stay here, don't hesitate for a single second.

Geleneksel bir Japon evi konseptinde olması, pencerelerinin ve kapılarının çok hoş bir dereye ve Sakura ağacına açılması, her türlü imkanın sağlanması ve merkezî olması harikaydı.

Çok geç giriş ve çok erken çıkış saati olması maalesef olumsuz yanı.

Jeśli masz więcej niż 20 lat to noszę chcieć się wyspać w nocy - nie w totalnym hałasie ulicy i nie na skrzypiącym łóżku. Możesz też chcieć się wykąpać nie w letniej, ale w gorącej wodzie, albo skorzystać z klimatyzatora… tylko musi naprawdę działać a nie jedynie hałasować. Ten obiekt to moje wielkie rozczarowanie. Stary dom ma swoje prawa, ale podstawowy komfort powinien być zachowany.
