The view from our room, the view from the breakfast area. The location was on point. What a place!!!!

An Unforgettable Stay – Truly Exceptional!

From the moment we arrived, our experience at this hotel was absolutely incredible. What truly sets this place apart is the people — the staff are, without a doubt, the best I have encountered in all my travels. It’s rare to find a team that genuinely cares so much about their guests, but here, it shines through in every detail. A special mention goes to Adam, Adrian, and Krystian (hope I didn't mixed up the name), who made each of our days so special. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness turned a great stay into an unforgettable one. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, the view was breathtaking, and our room was spotless, bright, and very comfortable. Every part of our stay exceeded expectations. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel truly cared for and where every detail is handled with heart, this is it. I can’t recommend it enough!!!

our room with a view of the waterfalls, it’s amazing! best accommodation in Lauterbrunnen! the beautiful views, the super friendly staff especially Adam 👍, breakfast with a view of the falls, i also love their “picnic room” ♥️ where you get to mingle with other guests, with different nationalities, that’s pretty cool😍 over all, we had an excellent stay in Lauterbrunnen‼️

A perfect stay with the best views of Lauterbrunnen

This was one of the best experiences and definitely one of the best stays we have ever had. Starting with the staff, they are amazing and super friendly, always ready to help with anything. Hotel Staubach undoubtedly offers the best hotel views in Lauterbrunnen, and they were truly priceless. The great breakfast, a comfortable lounge, and everything else about the hotel makes you feel at home. I highly recommend it and will certainly stay here again next time. Note: Huge thanks to Adam, who was really helpful from the beginning.

Beautiful view of the valley from our balcony, extremely accommodating and friendly staff, and good breakfast. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable.

Lovely hotel with incredible views

Loved the cosy aesthetic of the building and the surrounding area was absolutely surreal! All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and so polite! We loved our stay here, perfectly positioned for convenience to the train station as well as a lot of lovely restaurants/bars around Lauterbrunnen too! We would definitely stay here again

It’s an old hotel and shows its age in some ways. Very small bathroom. The old fashion door key was cumbersome and difficult to work at times.

Memorable stay in character hotel…

Staff so welcoming and friendly… access to basic kitchen facilities to help yourself 24/7… amazing views (seriously spectacular)… historic hotel (I believe first in the valley)… family owned feel… breakfast was superb… bed was incredibly comfortable… everyone has access to the patios to view the falls…

Worried about the church bells next door but with all the hiking we did, slept solidly and wasn’t disturbed… older Victorian era fixtures, but this added to the character… shower a little small but great pressure…

The hotel was excellent. Amazing location and the most beautiful view possible. The staff were truly outstanding — incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, going above and beyond in every interaction. The rooms were good, only the water pressure in the shower wasn’t the strongest. I highly recommend the hotel in every way. If I were to return, it would only be there.

Perfect launch pad for the inferno 1/2 marathon

Center of Lauterbrunnen and walkable to the camp site that is the start location for the Inferno 1/2 marathon. Staff provided congratulations via a personal note & champagne. Super friendly and fun

Absolute best time at this hotel and amazing staff made our stay memorable

We loved the location in the heart of Lauterbrunnen and the staff was amazing! So kind and responsive and made us feel right at home. I can’t say enough good things about them. They have facilities to accommodate guests with a kitchen with coffee, and places to hang out. Bathroom was remodeled and clean. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Charming old-fashioned hotel, with a beautiful view of the famous Staubbach waterfall. Breakfast was excellent, staff was great. There is lovley lounge area where refreshments are available for free till 10pm. The attic room we booked was small, but very clean, cozy and cute. We really enjoyed it! Wish I could have stayed longer.

A lovely stay in a quaint hotel with beautiful views and fantastic service.

The hotel is old and quaint and in a lovely location. For me the stand out part of our stay was Adam who is by far the most welcoming and helpful person I have ever met in the hotel industry. He goes the extra mile to accommodate guest requests and to make guests feel at home.

Hotel is close to train station. The hill side view from the balcony is great. Passenger lift is provided in the hotel. The buffet breakfast is great. It is a convenient location from the hotel to travel to Murren, Wengen and Interlaken.

Loved almost everything about this hotel. It is a historic hotel where you feel as if you are actually visiting in a long-lost era. Perfect if you are appreciative of the historic and traditional aspects of Lauterbrunnen, which we were; probably not so good if you would be more appreciative of more modern accommodations. The staff were wonderful and very helpful with suggestions for walks and wanderings and directions. The breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. The setting and views from our balcony rooms superb. Accommodations for extras, such as a cute little kitchen area with everything you could need to make a meal for yourself or share time with friends, to an "extra" guest balcony to sit and enjoy a view of the falls, if your room was on the other side of the building. The hotel is also toward the quieter end of the valley, very nice!

Our only complaints would be about the rooms. They are very clean, comfortable beds, good shower, etc. However, they could be updated a bit without detracting from the historic feel, by adding a couple of places to put things down, such as small table by the beds, maybe a luggage rack, and a few hooks around for hanging things. Especially in the bathroom the only place to hang a towel, or anything else, is a towel rack INSIDE the shower! No other hooks at all! Also, another electrical outlet or two are truly needed. We had to juggle using one outlet for charging ALL of our plug-ins. We needed the other outlet, which was up over the sink for shaving, to plug in the fan, which we needed because of the heat. As the cord was not long enough to reach, we had to prop the fan up on some folded blankets so it could be plugged in - nothing else to set it on!

Unbelivable Location, Staff and Breakfast!!!

To be so close to such an iconic piece of grandeur is an opportunity most travelers will never have, yet if one is lucky and fortunate enough to plan many months ahead (9 months in my case), your might secure a multiple night reservation. But be aware that multiple tour companies book this facility because of their location, wonderful staff and superb breakfast buffet. We stayed an unheard of ten nights in June and stayed in one of the of fourth floor rooms with shared baths and it was an unbelievable stay!

Yes not having our own bathroom was a slight sacrifice, but the benefits far outweighed any little inconvenience. But remember that all rooms have sinks.

Wonderful!

We loved our stay here. Perfect location easy walking distance from the train station. The view was just incredible! We were in a frontal falls view room #9. It was perfect. Waking up to the view of the falls and alps is something I will never forget. And drinking champagne on the balcony at night. Everything was spotless, room and bathroom nice size. Plenty of room for our luggage. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of variety. And the dining room has views of the falls and mountains. The staff here were incredibly kind and helpful! Would just bend over backwards to make you happy. Especially the young woman at reception. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name.
