Lovely hotel, good breakfast and friendly staff

A slightly bigger duvet on the double bed would have been nice.

A wonderful and relaxing stay in a beautiful environment

First, its location is less than 10 minutes’ walk from train station, and it’s very close to the iconic waterfall. Second, it looks newly refurbished, so cosy and comfortable. It’s in a small, peaceful and beautiful town. Finally, breakfast is served fresh and warm.

Great little place in a very convenient location

The location was very good to get around the Lauterbrunnen valley, Murren, Schilthorn, Wengen, Interlaken and beyond. The room was warm and cozy, and a very quiet night's sleep every night. Free parking was great, but sadly other guests parked badly one night and we couldn't find a space. Mila on reception sorted it out for us, so all was ok. Mila was excellent, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was a budget room, so the smallest available, other reviews note the sink in the room and tiny bathroom, and this was the case. However my husband and I didn't find this a problem at all, as we still had a king size bed, and it was never cold. Full size wardrobe, lots of storage and plenty big enough to have a restful night's sleep at the end of a busy day.

Lauterbrunnen was pretty much dead after 1800, no bars very few places to eat, and no service anywhere after 2000. Probably the time of year we visited perhaps, and not a reflection on the hotel, maybe our ignorance of Swiss culture? In any case, something to be aware of.

Beautiful views, comfortable room, would return

The location of this hotel is absolutely outstanding. From the room window, you see the beautiful mountains facing you. It's just a 5 minute walk from the stunning Staubbach Waterfall as well. The views are just breathtaking. The hotel restaurant seems to be the only reliable place that's always open for non guests as well. They have an outdoor sitting area with firepits to keep you warm in the winter. The breakfast spread was also excellent. My vegetarian sister ate her belly full and she usually struggles for food options. The staff were also very lovely. I would return in a heartbeat.

The morning our keycard wasn't working around 9am, and we had to wait until the receptionist got to work around 10am to open for us, they need to have other staff who is there be able to sort these things out. The bathroom is extremely small. We were fine but for bigger persons, it would be an issue.

Excellent value; friendly staff

The hotel accommodations were wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very generous each morning. The room was large (for European std) and bed comfortable. The restaurant served excellent local food. The free parking was a bonus. The location is perfect. A six minute walk to the train station.

Amazing view, cozy experience

I really enjoyed my stay here – the location is amazing, and I had a room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the waterfall. The breakfast was very good, and overall the place was clean, with just a few small details that could be improved, but nothing that affected my experience.

One thing I didn’t like was that streaming apps were restricted. Since it gets dark early this time of year and most places close quite soon in the evening, it would be nice to relax in the room with a movie.

It’s great for location but the bed made it really hard to enjoy our stay there.

Location was great. Front desk was helpful when we got there and gave us a map of the area and told us things we could do in the surrounding area.

The bed was uncomfortable and the room smelled like smoke and cucumber which was an interesting combo. The room had no A/C so it got really hot at night which made sleeping quite uncomfortable

Perfect spot in Jungfrou region.

Loved the view, multiple beds for families and the wonderful breakfast in the morning! Staying here, and then also in Murren was a nice retreat/break from the longer travel trip we took.

Breath taking

The view from our balcony was like something right out of a storybook. This was the most enjoyable and relaxing part of our 14-day 4 city vacation.

Great location for GenZ experience.

Good location, not too far from the train and located on the path to local activities. Staff were pleasant. Attached restaurant had tasty offerings.

I booked a two night stay, I fled the hotel after the first night, I didn’t bother trying for a partial refund on the second night. The decorations were fun, it was like staying in a cabin. The bed and pillows were not overly comfortable and the sheets were scratchy with a low thread count, this was the real fault. The hotel was affordable, I just expected a little more. Also, the town was absolutely dripping with GenZ taking pictures for clout, this is a great place for them but not for Millennials or GenX.

Great location in Lauterbrunnen

The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was comfortable, but a little on the small side. The breakfast was very good, with a selection of hot and cold items that were all delicious. We also ate dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. The location was excellent - less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and also close to the famous Staubbachfalz.

The radiator in either our room or another room close to ours made noise off and on during the night.

Perfect location, great breakfast. I was just a bit disappointed for the coffee machine. But nothing that could ruined the great meal we had.

We loved Hotel Schutzen! Perfect location.

The location was perfect in the center of town. The restaurant was delicious and had a very nice patio. Breakfast was great. Although it is very lively during the day the hotel was very quiet at night. The rooms are small but very quaint.

Amazing stay!

Our room was super cute! So close to everything!!!! The restaurant was also amazing! The best part, Mike at the front desk! He gave us a ton of recommendations and we listened and was not disappointed once. Thanks Mike for making our trip perfect.

Loved everything!

The location is amazing. Short walk from train station and easy access for everything. The room was big, clean, and comfortable and included a refrigerator and coffee maker. The restaurant was delicious. Will absolutely stay here again if/when we come back.

The view of the waterfall was unreal! It was walking distance from the train station too and pretty much walkable to most viewpoints. Staff were nice and they have a storage room to store our luggages before or after our stays.

We loved everything!! The room was lovely, the view from all windows was a joy! Plenty of towels, a coffee maker, a fridge, excellent storage in room and bathroom. a writing table. Helpful staff. A wonderful breakfast included. Great Wifi. An elevator. What a terrific value! And a great location, too.

Maybe a few more well placed clothing hooks. Hardly a deal breaker!
