Hands down best hostel experience of my life.

Deborah was an absolute gem. She truly has a vision for this hostel and i support it. Her love/ passion for the area is undeniable. She cares so much about everyone's individual experience and had so many great suggestions on what to do day in and day out. She values safety above all and I cant stress what a relief it was to feel totally taken care while visiting switzerland for the first time. The facilities were clean! The bar and all the bartenders were amazing. This is truthfully my favorite hostel ive ever stayed at in my life. Im only sad I couldnt stay longer. Lauterburren is a magical fairy land. The hostel is so close to the bus station ( free ) which made taking public transportation a breeze. Thank you for being so sweet to us travelers and for having affordable rates. It makes our time away from home so much better when we can truly relax and enjoy and not have to worry ♡ I also accidently booked a train ticket to depart before check out began and she came in early to the office just for me. I felt so bad but I also was just so grateful for her helping me out.

Do NOT stay here

Lauterbrunnen heavenly atmosphere

Ignored messages, told me “don’t contact us again” on Instagram, forced me through Hostelworld even though they take direct bookings. Three failed bookings later, I finally got in via Booking.com. Tiny rooms, bad beds, rude staff. Worst hostel experience I’ve had.

There was some disturbance from some neighbouring room teenagers crying and talking all night.

Nice enough

The view from the rooms is beautiful, and there’s a large open space for sitting outside. The room was clean and comfortable.

I don’t agree with paying for a towel tax when you don’t use their towel. There’s also no stove in the kitchen.

Lovely staff and very accommodating! We had our own private bathroom which was a plus! Great location and only a short walk to shops and restaurants.

I loved nearly everything, rooms are pretty basic but clean, comfortable and private. It's easy to meet people and have a great time. I like the age bracket because it allows you to meet people your age. Also great location and price!

I only disliked having to share a bathroom, but I knew that beforehand.

EXCEPTIONAL!!

I could not have been happier with my stay! The staff were incredibly friendly — HUGE shoutout to Gigi the bartender, truly the sweetest soul I have ever met. I met some of the loveliest people there and my room was perfect - best blanket I’ve EVER been given at a hostel, clean room, great roommates, incredible view. Could not asked for a better stay. Thank you!

Excellent location and stay

I liked the location. It is very close to the bus station. We got a good room that had a very great view of the valley and the waterfalls. Rooms were clean. We got the upgraded twin bed room. The staff were very friendly and provided great recommendations for nearby things to do.

The bathrooms did not have any essentials like shampoo, body wash or conditioner although mentioned in the description. Bed needs to have anti slippery pads.

It was so fun, I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

It was clean and I liked how close it is to the river to go for a walk. Also the beds were pretty comfortable. And I liked that there’s a bar on site, it made it easy to meet other travelers. Also I loved the view! I also liked how helpful reception was with suggestions on what to do/where to go around that area!

I thankfully got a room with a bathroom/shower so it worked out well for me, but I know if I had to pay to shower and walk a bit to use the bathroom I wouldn’t have liked that. I also wish there was some sort of locker to lock my belongings in. There should also be a separate trash can in the bathroom itself not just in the bedroom (especially for women).

Not just accommodation, but an unforgettable experience

From walking in, the reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They offered activity suggestions and also would do research for you if needing to know what’s open. I was supposed to only spend 3 nights there but I extended it to 6 because I had such a great experience. Gigi at the bar is one of a kind and facilitates a great night.

the place is clean and very very well maintained. they even provide us plug extensions, extra blankets. not to forget that deborah, the hostel owner borrowed me an adapter. she is very kind and lovely, i feel like a family when i talk with her 🥺i had a great time throughout my stay. would definitely come again!

Value for money for a luxurious (silence & away from city hustle) kind of stay !

Debrah owner is super thoughtful, supportive and extremely helpful. She is sincere in caring for my stay, genuinely recommends me of places and activities to go depending on weather. Location is superb for people who value calmness and less touristy places like me. I stayed during the last week of January and it was the most silence I can find in my life. The silence is amazing, you can hear birds chirping, river flowing, wind howling and the bell from church makes the whole tiny town super interesting. I love it.

Location is absolutely stunning. The staff were fantastic and so helpful. I was in a twin room and it was cute and cosy. Comfy bed. Bathroom was two mins walk away. Fun bar with great atmosphere Very convenient place to stay - bus stop located just outside of hostel, ATM, well priced laundry, good kitchen

Not sure how great it would be for solo travellers looking to socialise as the communal area is quiet, and most of the people that we saw staying there were in organised tour groups.

The location is really good. The view is great! And I really like the kitchen. They also offer free towel. The bed was comfy. It was clean in general

Had to pay 1 or 2 CHF coins if you want hot water. No elevator or lift but it was just 2or 3 floors anyway . But other than that it was all good.
