Everything was great, we really enjoyed our time. The team makes a clear effort to be kind and welcoming.

Close to perfection

Absolutely gorgeous little hotel in Wengen, with fantastic views of the mountains out our window and from the balcony The rooms themselves are nothing fancy but perfectly functional. Fantastic staff who were very helpful at every step. Also had dinner here which was fantastic, and our room included breakfast which was great for setting us up for a day of exploring.

Welcomed in wonderfully, view from room beautiful, breakfast was excellent, Dinner was very good, service was exceptional, pingpong was fun and the sauna was complimentary and relaxing. We had our laundry done and they did a fantastic job- much appreciated

Exceptional Stay... highly recommend

Our experience was made very personal. The staff went out of their way to make us feel like we were part of the Edelweiss Family. Highly recommend. Having an in house restaurant for dinner was an added bonus. Exceptional chef, with great schnapps.

We would gladly stay here again.

The staff were congenial, very knowledgable of the area, culture, history and activities. The food in the restaurant was local home cooked and super fresh ingredients. A great value. The breakfast was fresh and delisious with great variety it seemed a step up from your usual "continental breakfast". Free coffee all day...what a treat!

I can't blame the hotel for the very small room and with only bunk beds because at booking it was rhe only room left. We were quite sarisfied. It did include a really nice mountain view and a nice patio for sipping wine and enjoying sunset.

My Mom and I LOVED staying at The Edelweiss! The Edelweiss Hotel is such a lovely location in Wengen. The Hotel facilities were beautiful and rustic, just as we expected them to be; and you awake to the most breathtakingly beautiful views of the Top of Europe and the valley below; words cannot fully describe the beauty of Wengen and this location. Even better than the gorgeous views, the staff are amazing. They are professional, caring, and extremely helpful. They provided directions and guidance on how best to travel around their village and the general area. Truly remarkable staff! In particular, we would light to acknowledge Tomas and Sarah for going above and beyond in every aspect of our stay; they were exceptional. The food was delicious, healthy, and hearty! Just outstanding service. They also have the biggest pet rabbits we have ever seen in our lives; the most adorable, soft and sweet; they had trekking poles for us, maps, and several other amenities, including coffee, teas, treats, and fun games for the evening hours. For children, the hotel is located near a small, little park with a jungle gym for them; there was room for them to explore and enjoy Wengen as well. Really minor -- It would have been nice to have direct washer/dryer access on-site (coin-pay system), but we did have the option to send our laundry off-site to be done, so there was an option for us for sure; not a big deal at all! I mean, it is a stretch for us to think of anything that we didn't like at this location. Truly a wonderful and absolutely lovely place to visit in Switzerland!

We really enjoyed our stay, and the best part of the hotel was the staff.

The breakfast buffet selection is superb, and during breakfast you will have a chance to tell the hotel you would like to join for dinner (with a la cart selection) Dinner is also excellent with reasonable prices. Staff is exceptional and made you feel welcomed even before arriving with welcoming emails etc. Staff will recommend hiking trails, things to do, and you can also borrow hiking sticks and umbrellas from the hotel. Shouts out to Tomas for a great stay!

I can't think of anything substantial, if I had to nitpick, in the downstairs sauna room there's a cold shower room in the same area - if there's a rack for eyeglasses and such near the shower that would have been really helpful. Again, it's a really minor detail.

The staff, comfy beds and prepaid meals made this a welcome place to return after an active day in the mountains.

Staff members Monica Thomas and Shelley were absolutely wonderful to us! Thomas shared great tips and info on sights and activities. Monica ran the place with friendliness and enthusiasm. Shelley was very engaging and kept our fresh coffees coming every breakfast. Food was ample and tasty. Beds were quite comfy. Very clean. Cleaning staff made up room very nicely every day. We had a very nice view of the Jungfrau from room 204. Balcony fit two chairs, a small table and a recliner.

Menu offerings were the same every day. Having said that, the steak, lamb and salmon with fettuccine were always really good. The soups were delicious! Desserts were so-so other than the one day it was an ice cream selection that was really delicious.

Absolutely loved staying in Wengen and the access we had to the entire village from our hotel.

Loved the location - and the wonderful interaction with the hosts. They were very knowledgeable & helpful with making our plans. We thoroughly enjoyed eating in the hotel. Great food and was perfect to have breakfast included.

Fantastic experience

Fantastic place and staff, we stayed over 2 nights and had a blast! The rooms were super clean and beautiful, including the garden and the kids room. We were welcomed by the amazing staff who treated us so nicely: It was the first time for us "trying" a weekend out with a toddler and a newborn , so having received such a great welcome and support during our stay was extremely appreciated. We will surely come back! A huge plus: there's a kids playground just in front of the hotel, so toddlers and kids can spend their last energies before sleeping!

Fantastic staff and great location!

Perfect location in an idyllic setting! Not far from the train station and easy to find (although downhill, so just be prepared to bring your luggage uphill at the end of your stay!). The staff was incredible - very knowledgeable about hiking in the area and helpful in all respects. Loved that they had hiking poles to borrow, as I found that essential for my days out in the area! :)

Amazing views, nice rooms, and helpful/smart staff made this maybe best stay ever.

We loved everything about this hotel! I would give it the maximum number of stars in every category. The staff, especially Tomas and Monica, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our view was wonderful. The breakfasts were delicious! The dinners were very well prepared. The daily housekeeping was a treat for Americans. The coffee machine, loaner umbrellas and hiking poles, and round-the-clock snack tray all added to the relaxing family feeling. Tomas and Monica were super-helpful with daily itinerary options based on weather. Both are well-traveled and very knowledgeable. Hard to imagine a better stay.

Great! stay in Wengen

Situated just a few minutes downhill from the Wengen train station, the hotel offers you a marvelous view of Jungfrau as you walk into in its lane. The check-in and check-out process was quick and although I arrived early, I was super grateful that my room was ready. Complimentary coffee/ tea was offered.Monica was most helpful in providing all the best options I could consider for a short visit. (Mannlichen is definitely worth the visit and you can see live video feed in the reception). My room was clean, warm and comfortable, complete with facilities needed and English tv channels. The hotel also offered an option for you to order dinner in advance should you wish it. The hotel also has its own common room with a children play room connected.

It would be nice if there was a little bit more option for breakfast.

Peaceful, friendly, and very Swiss

Stayed with my wife 4 nights in August and hopped all over the Jungfrau area with the travel passes. This is a nice smaller hotel among many in Wengen. Totally did not feel like summer tourism season here. Peaceful, we say on the porch and stared at the mountains. Same view from the room. There are two large wardrobe cabinets and ample room to store luggage etc. beside and on top of them. So don't let the small appearance of the rooms in pictures scare you. Staff is very helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area, really felt at home here. Basic Swiss breakfast buffet - breads are incredible! Staff will take your dinner order at breakfast if you're interested in dining there that night. Chef came out and explained his ingredient choices and offered a sample while he was still cooking.

Stunnng Location

Staff is great, extremely friendly and welcoming. Wengen itself is among the most beautiful location I have ever visited.

A couple of nights have been disrupted by noisy and disrespectful guests. One night in particular, I had to listen to loud chanting prayers and I had to deal with cigarette smoke because guest were smoking on the balcony even if not allowed. People like that are bad for your business in my opinion.

Wonderful 2 night stay with our family

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Location was great. The staff was extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. Everything was spotless, super clean. They had a well equipped play room for our 2 boys. Free available coffee & tea. Food in the restaurant was delicious.

The location of the hotel was perfect, walking distance to the train station. Beautiful scenery around. The breakfast buffet had lot of options. Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious. Beautiful place tucked away in the mountains with perfect place to stay with kids and the best hotel staff I’ve ever exp

The property was slightly tucked away from the main strip, which was great and made for an even better atmosphere, however, it was very easy to walk to the trains (less than five minutes). There was a great playground for the kids to hang out and an indoor playroom, which was a big plus for us. Overall, the best part about this property was the people that work in it. They were extremely nice and accommodating to us offering advice and fun casual conversation. They were very friendly towards kids even letting our kids feed the rabbits on the property. We plan on visiting Switzerland again and will absolutely stay here.

Beautiful place to stay

The views were spectacular, the building itself had lots of charm and character. I liked that there was onsite dining available (the breakfast was amazing) It was very clean and welcoming. The staff were amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

Family run with amazing staff

The staff do everything to make the stay fantastic. They advise on walking routes, and ask about the day you’ve had. They make sure you are comfortable in every way. Breakfast and the fondue dinner was excellent.

Our room was a little cold due to an unusually cold night for summer. But I was given a blanket and a fan heater and the room warmed up quickly.

Heaven on earth

Wengen is an incredibly special little town and I am so happy my friend chose Hotel Edelweiss for our stay there. Tom and staff were super helpful with recommendations for the town and surrounding areas. It was nice and easy with breakfast there in the morning and we did dinner there two nights as well (especially convenient and appreciated when you're tired from hiking/exploring the mountains all day). One night was a summer bbq outside which was awesome! Best pork I've ever eaten, and a great wine cocktail as well. My room had the most magical view...it was hard to stop looking out the window when I was in there, especially in the morning and around sunset. I appreciated the TV with endless channel options and the desk too. Nice to have it all there in your little mountain retreat! Highly recommend.

Leaving this place was heartbreaking! If I could have stayed forever, didn't have to leave...it would have been perfect! Note that there is a steep walk down from the train (we took the stairs, but it's easier to just walk on the street down) and a steep walk back up. I know this isn't for everyone/not everyone is able to do that. But the hotel can help arrange transport if needed I believe.

A welcoming cliffside retreat overlooking the real world Valley of Rivendell. Paradise!

Dining room was superb. Plenty of freshly-prepared choices for breakfast and authentic Swiss dishes for dinner. Anytime you walked into the dining room, the service was flawless and the food memorable. Rooms had lots of windows, mountain views, and plenty of space. There are plenty of common spaces on the entry-level floor for coffees, snacks, games, or reading. The staff was warm, attentive, and amazingly helpful.

The adjacent twin beds take a little getting used, but were plenty supportive and comfortable. The road from the train station to the Edelweiss is steep and can be slippery when wet. Although it is a very short trip, consider the local taxi if you've got heavy luggage to wrangle.

A very warm welcome on Arrival and excellent hospitality from Thomas and Sarah. Genuine engagement and helpful communication.

The Room was very small and especially the bathroom. Fortunately my wife and I are not big people so we managed.

Special shout out to Thomas at the front desk concierge!! He was so friendly, helpful, and attentive. He was extremely hard working and fast getting things done or answering any questions. The staff was extremely friendly and made all the difference. We also had an exceptional view from the 1st floor towards the Lauterbrunnen valley which we spent so much time staring at. Played cards on the balcony with my wife every night. The beds were supportive and comfortable. There were adorable bunnies in front of the hotel. Can't wait to comeback!
