Hotel Alpenruhe - Vintage Design Hotel

I fell in love with Wengen - and the hotel stay was certainly a part of it. The design of the hotel was exquisite and created a calming atmosphere that complemented the tranquility of the mountainous backdrop… everything is placed with intention. The minimalist nature of the rooms worked well and let the mountains speak for themselves. The location was excellent - a short walk from the main stretch of the town, creating a sense of quiet tranquility. Views from the balcony were breath taking. And most notably, the staff were warm and welcoming. Strong recommendation… I will be back!

Room is small but ok but bathroom too small

Excellent view from the place of the Lauterbrunnen valley and countless peaks - a mesmerising view that is unbeatable. The room was really spacious as well - and we got the extra balcony space as we were on the lowest floor - which compensated a bit for not getting the room with the valley view from balcony. The room, the facilities were all superbly maintained, staff was really kind and breakfast was good too. Nothing to complain at all, totally worth the money despite the high price point.

Prompt pick-up and drop-off from Wengen railway station, as the hotel is quite a hike with luggage. Helpful staff. Breakfast was nice

No additional facilities such as spa, pool, etc., like we later saw at several other hotels, many priced in the same range too. Rooms were small, but I assume that's the case with all properties in Wengen. Our room had a balcony, but it was not mountain-facing. It was up to us to double-check, of course, but I wish it had been mentioned a little more explicitly. There wasn't an opportunity to upgrade later.
