This hotel was atmospheric and utterly charming. Highly recommended.

This is quite possibly the nicest hotel in which I have ever stayed. Ever. Comms with staff regarding booking were polite, efficient, friendly, obliging. Awesome location, with jaw-dropping views. AMAZING. Upon arrival, we were offered a drink, such a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Fantastic customer service. Fresh flowers in the public areas, a nice touch. Comfortable, well-appointed room, with everything thought of.

It was uncomfortable, poorly maintained, and disappointing overall.

Let me start by saying this is a historic hotel as stated on the site, alot of old furnishings and quirky meeting room, the bed linen and sheets were clean Our room looked across to the main area into the centre of the little town, visibility was extremely bad in Late sept, mist n very dull, i imagine on sunnier days it would be very pleasant view.

Our room was totally shabby, wall paper filthy worn & torn, bits hanging, the creeks as you moved were extremely difficult & annoying, very dark, yes i know it clearly states its historic but no excuse for the lack of maintenance & repairs , a-lot of room for improvements, our room was next to the lift which made it even more noisy, you can hear everything from the hall area and the bedroom across the hall, so close in fact doors met when open at the same time, also the breakfast was awful, nothing topped up or fresh, the waiting staff all young men were not at all forthcoming, a cup of coffee seemed like hard work to get, no communication what so ever, having said this alot of giggle and conversation just off the dining area where staff seemed to collide

A unique hotel in a beautiful setting!

When I walked into this hotel, I felt like I was transported back in time to the 1950’s or even beyond that. I loved the furnishings and decor, it was all very charming. The staff were thoroughly professional, always courteous and helpful. I looked forward to breakfast each morning, walking into the elegant dining room area and being greeted with a friendly smile and having a wide array of food to choose from all while listening to French music! I loved my little room (I was traveling solo) up on the 4th floor with a balcony that opened up to the most amazing view of Jungfrau….how impressive! My bed was very comfortable and the necessary updates have been made to the hotel to insure a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing stay. Thanks to everyone!

I liked everything if anything perhaps that the dining room had recently stopped serving dinner as the summer season was winding down. But I just went to the local coop and got my dinner!

Relaxing and quiet stay in a lovely cosy olde hotel

The hotel is full of character and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a lovely surprise to have a welcome drink on arrival. Loved the ambiance. Very peaceful

Wonderful Hotel, Wonderful Stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our five-night stay at the Historic Falken Hotel in Wengen. The property exudes old-world charm that perfectly complements its picturesque Swiss alpine setting. Our room, located on the third floor, featured an outdoor balcony with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys—truly a highlight of our stay. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always accommodating, which made us feel at home throughout our visit. The included breakfast was a delightful, traditional Swiss-style spread, a perfect start to each day of exploring the region. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our choice of the Historic Falken Hotel. Its charm, location, and hospitality made our stay unforgettable, and we would gladly return on a future trip to Wengen.

Amazing!

Everything! The staff were very friendly and wonderful, the atmosphere was very good and the interior was authentic, the room was cozy and comfortable, there were many pleasant common areas to spend time in, and the outdoor atmosphere was very cozy.

Great hotel to come back to & relax after a day of activities/ exploring

Breakfast was good - plenty of variety for the 4 of us. Location of hotel was stunning with views of town & mountains. Decor was dated but with Falken being a historic hotel we felt it added to its charm. Staff at hotel were very kind.

It was good but not excellent for the amountwe paid

It had a nice rustic feeling

The beds were really uncomfortable - very low and the mattress were extremely soft - there is no option for teenagers to eat dinner - they don’t want a four course meal every night and we also not - there are no alternative for those that doesn’t want a four course meal - so we needed to go to another hotel to eat in the evening where we could just sit in the bar and eat pizza ordered from the hotel restaurant. The Falken need some alternatives for those who doesn’t want to eat a four course expensive meal - the meal is without wine or drinks so it’s another 10 Swiss franks just for a drink - for a family of four it’s quite an expensive dinner if you really only wanted a burger or pasta or a pizza

The front office staff was good. Both the ladies made our stay comfortable and addressed all issues

The 3rd floor corridor was stinky. Had to ask for chairs to be puti the balcony, there were none. Didn't get my requested room. Breakfast was extremely basic

Great choice of breakfast, staff unobtrusive attentive. Lovely setting in sun filled room. There were a number of children and several dogs, all well- behaved.

Sometimes food became short but it was promptly 'topped up'.

We loved our stay at the Historic Falken Inn. The views were amazing and the location was perfect!

The view and location of the room was absolutely amazing. I loved how historic the hotel was. We were a 10 min train ride from Lauterbrunnen. We were able to also easily go up to Murren and Gimmewald.

The air conditioning was not the best (it is a historic inn!!) Luckily you are high enough on the mountain that you can open the window at night to help cool off during the summer.

the bed, pillow & blanket gave me such a good sleep :) inside the room the temperature is very comforable with fresh air from window yet cosy and nicely warm at night (heater was turn off)

the shower area is a bit tiny. no hanger in the room for hat, coat, towers … at all

I appreciated the attentive and friendly staff, the unexpected welcome drink, the morning’s freshly baked breads, eggs, and coffee, the room’s view of the village - getting to sleep with the windows open and fresh air in the room, and the abundance of additional toilettes, seating areas throughout the hotel and its restaurant, and picnic spaces under the covered patio, We also enjoyed the unique furniture, artwork, and family-focused business from 4+ generations of collectors.

My husband is 6’5”, and we asked for a bed without a footboard or sloped roof; unfortunately, we were put in a room with a bed with footboard and a dormer windows. I took the dormer side and at 5’6” hit my head the last morning. The bathroom was almost entirely clean, but there was mold around the inside of the shower door - most visible when it is closed, some around the tile lines, and the venting fan did not turn on or provide airflow during our stay.
