Loved everything about this place.

The staff and room were amazing! Beautiful view from our balcony of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. One of the best places to stay in Wengen. We ate dinner every night in the restaurant where the food was really good, the wait staff impeccably attentive, and the prices very reasonable. Also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning, which was outstanding!

A warm, welcoming, hotel.

The dinners were very good as were the breakfasts. The living room areas were quite comfortable.

The size of our room was quite small. There wasn't any room for our suitcases (as in a stand)for them.

Wengeng itself is already beautiful, and we got a room with view to see a corner of this beautiful village. Staffs are exceptional helpful and nice. The included breakfast is outstanding. We paid for dinners when booking the room, and have different 4-course meal every day during our stay.

There is nothing we dislike. Everything is perfect.

The place to go!!! Lovely!

The hotel is situated in a beautiful part of the village and with a stunning view of the valley. It is a 5 minute walk to the train station. They picked us up and dropped us off with our luggage. We opted for the half board so we had dinner every night in their fabulous dining room. The meals were a highlight of our trip and we loved seeing what was on the menu each day. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The owner is exceptionally kind and helpful.

We can’t rate Hotel Alpenrose highly enough. The hosts were so welcoming and couldn’t have been more accommodating. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the evening meals were superb value for money. Location was great, a short stroll from the station and beautiful views. We also loved the history and the pride taken in this being a family run hotel over so many generations.

Perfection! Amazing in every way!

We felt like we were living in a Hallmark movie while at Hotel Alpenrose! It’s such a beautiful place, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the decor is exactly what you’d dream an alpine guesthouse would be made of! It was one of my favorite places I’ve EVER stayed! The views from the balconies are unreal! Beds are comfortable, and heavy curtains block all the light for a perfect night’s sleep.

Can’t wait to come back!

We can’t say enough good things about our stay at Hotel Alpenrose. The property is situated beautifully with a view of the valley and a 5 minute walk to the train station. They picked us up and dropped us off with our luggage. We opted for the half board so we had dinner every night in their fabulous dining room. The meals were a highlight of our whole trip and we loved seeing what was on the menu each day. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The owner even stopped by to check on us at dinner. Their lovely lobby was so cozy-it made you feel like family when you relaxed there with a cup of tea and a book. We met people who come back to this hotel every year-that really tells you how wonderful it is. We found Wengen to be an easy location for the activities in the region and liked that it was a small town-but had everything you might need including bike rentals, bakery, grocery store, and Alpia Sport (beautiful clothing). Crystal Bar was fun for a drink.

A true alpine gem

Our stay at Hotel Alpenrose was literally spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the breathtaking location and the stunning views. Honestly, we could spend days just sitting on the balcony, enjoying the amazing view and the quietness. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. But what truly set this hotel apart was the staff, who are exceptionally skilled, attentive and prompt in every way. Every detail was taken care of, making us feel genuinely cared for our entire stay. Dinner is an absolute delight. Breakfasts were delicious, but dinner was pure fine dining magic. Each evening we had a unique selection of dishes with flavors that complemented each other perfectly. We also appreciated the early check-in, the pick-up from the train station and the beautiful gesture of a packed breakfast on our early departure day. The lounge area itself is wonderful, cozy and full of charm. In short, everything was superb, at the highest level, nothing to criticize. We miss this place and can only offer our heartfelt congratulations to Ursula and Daniel for carrying forward the wonderful tradition of this historic hotel and for combining personality with impeccable service.

Superb Stay in Wonderful Wengen

The hotel provides a very welcoming, relaxing experience. Our room had a balcony with a wonderful view of the Lauterbrunnen valley. We hadn't purchased the dinner option but ended up eating all of our meals at the hotel as it offered great food at a very reasonable price. Communication with the hotel prior to our trip was exceptional and the taxi ride to and from the train station was a welcome bonus.

Beautiful traditional Swiss chalet in a beautiful setting in Wengen. Minutes to downtown and a very quiet setting with breathtaking views. The family and staff are most welcoming. The food is exceptional and a great value! You feel like home in Hotel Alpenrose.

Welcoming friendly staff. Stunning mountain view from the balcony of our room (see photo). Well-fitted-out bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable and spacious lounges and outdoor sitting area. Excellent breakfast with good choice. Good value and quality 4 course set menu evening meal. No-fuss pickup and drop off at the railway station. Free maps of the town, the lifts and hiking trails and reception staff always willing to provide advice about the area. The hotel is down a short but steep hill from the main street and station. We enjoyed the exercise, but it could be a problem for those with limited mobility.

The Wi -fi in our bedroom was unreliable .. but it was easy to find a quiet corner in one of the lounges where the signal was good.

Authentic Swiss experience hotel, average breakfast and wifi

Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Overall cannot find any faults with the service we received.

Wifi wasn't great and we weren't able to stream any programs. Breakfast was sub par to be honest. When trays emptied it wasn't restocked and that was with an hour left of service.

Great stay in Wengen

Our stay was wonderful — it felt like stepping into a tranquil bygone era. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating from before our arrival right through to after we left. The property offers breathtaking views, and the town and its surroundings have plenty to explore. I highly recommend the half-board option — the menu may be limited, but it’s well worth it.

The views from the front of the property. They provide a porter to pick you up and take you to the train station. The meal plan was perfect. The staff were very helpful with planning hikes.

Excellent experience!

It was an amazing experience. The hotel is just at the foot of the Jungfrau, you can see the top of the mountain on the balcony. The view outside the hotel is also amazing. The staff are super friendly. The breakfast and dinner are super delicious (and cheap). The hotel also provides driving to the Wengen station.

A couple of nights we had some very loud birds outside the room wake us up around 5:30 am; the tub/shower combo is a little awkward; and it's about a 10 minute walk uphill back to the train station/main part of town.

Dinner and Breakfast were provided. Breakfast was better than Dinner in my opinion. The hotel is on conservative side of food supply. Quality is average. One plus aspect of food and beverages to be pointed out, this hotel provides all day long complimentary variety of tea and coffe, free of charge. Other hotels I stayed did not offer such free drinks. Some orovided afew drinks in the room.

This hotel is awesome! The views from the room were great. The town of lauterbrunnen was lower than us so in the morning we could see the town in the clouds while we were up enjoying the views! They offered breakfast and dinner was $20 if you chose. I would absolutely stay here again. This place truly is family owned and they are all very nice. If you are wondering where to stay in the lauterbrunnen area consider Wengen!

Perfect!

Simply a wonderful place - out of the hub of the main street making it serene and a great place to simply sit and enjoy the mountain views! A wonderful contemporary version of tradition. Great breakfasts and as we discovered too late in our stay, fantastic dinners for unbelievably great price!. Can’t rate highly enough for our beautiful 4 night relaxing stay. Porter service to and from train tops this off.

110% worth the visit on your trip to Switzerland

I could not recommend this hotel enough to anyone visiting the region. We just had the most wonderful stay here. It's so relaxing and peaceful. We paid for a mountain view room and TBH I could have spent all three days just sitting on the balcony watching the view. Even on rainy days it was stunning. The hotel is so comfortable and the staff were brilliant, polite, helpful, efficient and above all friendly. We also enjoyed meeting the owners and it was lovely to have that family run feeling. The set dinners were delicious and so cosy in the dining room plus amazing value for the meal. Wengen is an amazing place to spend a few days with so many stunning walks and places to visit. I used the local Wengen Lido a couple of times too. We really just loved our stay at this hotel
