Hotel Alpenrose Wengen - a family affair since 1881

This hotel was very clean, organized, and well run. The breakfast was excellent and consisted of a variety of fresh breads, eggs made to order, as well as cheeses, meats, yogurts, and cereal. The hotel offered a daily 4 course dinner which was excellent and very economical. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and professional.

It is an uphill hike to the train station and the main street. Once we made it back to the hotel after our daily activities, it wasn't worth going out again. The hotel does provide a complimentary ride upon your arrival. A room with a view would have been a plus.

Beautiful views and nice staff. We ate dinner there one night and it was phenomenal.

WiFi in the rooms didn’t work well. The hotel was a little dated. The shower head was movable but couldn’t get it to sit still.

A remarkable family hotel with style and tradition. The location and views are amazing - you sit in the balcony and the whole range of mountains (Jungfrau, Munch and Eiger are in front of you saying hello. The room was pretty nice very clean and nicely provisioned. A great advantage of this hotel is the dinner for guests only - it was a great experience and value in the lovely dining hall - not to miss.

Our room was in an annex building and it seems that it was less robust in that there was noise from the floor above. The bed mattress was soft to our taste but overall the room was good. I would recommend staying in the main building.

We loved everything about the hotel: the location , the views the food and the friendly service. It was an aboslutely perfect stay for us. We travelled with our teenage granddaughter and as soon as we saw our studio (which had a separate bedroom for her ), with a spectacular view from all rooms and a refreshing cross breeze, we knew we would have an amazing time there. The rooms were clean, everything worked well and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our balcony with comfortable chairs where we had our after dinner tea and enjoyed watching the sunsets and the clouds below. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and we loved the many varieties of breads and cheese that came with our meals as well, as very tasty dinners with well planned menus and home made food. We stayed 4 nights and were very sorry to leave. It was haven on earth ! Thank you, Hotel Alpenrose !
