    Our stay was perfect. The view and balcony terrace was exceptional and we loved the open air cinema set up to watch the FIGA World Cup with the mountain back drop. The hotel is perfectly located in this beautiful town with access to the moat amazing hikes. Thank you!

    Such a wonderful location, but the room let it down. The bathroom had a persistently stale smell—why not add air fresheners like the ones in the public toilets at your on-site pasta restaurant? The balcony looked dirty and needed a proper clean, and the plastic chairs felt cheap. The WiFi was embarrassingly slow (Download: 5.75 Mbps / Upload: 3.94 Mbps) and needs an urgent upgrade. Food at the breakfast buffet and on-site pasta restaurant was okay, but at our first dinner there, even with a reservation, we waited around 15 minutes before staff showed up at the desk where you have to wait until you're seated. In summary: not up to the world-famous Swiss hospitality quality you'd expect as a guest there. Management needs to take better care of this property.

    The hotel looks lovely from the outside. It’s been redecorated recently outside. The room was only ok. It was in serious need of a facelift. The carpets throughout were old, the shower door was flimsy, the silicone in the shower was moldy and needed redoing. The quilts could do with a refresh as well as the pillow protectors. For the price paid, even though it was a basic room, you would still expect high quality fixtures and fittings. No mirror at the dressing table. The hairdryer cut out after 2 mins and wouldn’t reset itself for a further 5 mins. On asking at reception for a new one we were told they are all the same and we need to run it on a slower setting. There was no kettle in the room so I couldn’t make a cup of tea. There wasn’t anywhere to make a cup of tea in the hotel. The bar was closed for the summer season. Very disappointing. The spa was the reason we booked this hotel. It was closed and being refurbished. We didn’t know this when we booked as the website didn’t alert us to the fact. Later, on looking, it had been added and said the spa would be ready on our second day at the hotel. Well it was running late and will be closed for another 2 weeks. No workmen were seen working on the renovations the 3 days we were there. We were given access to another hotels spa but it was not to the same standard. We used it once for an hour. The positives:- close to the station, good views, comfy beds, towels changed daily if requested, 11am check out, room was ready for us early on check in, very good breakfast with loads of choice and help yourself, so all was not lost. We would probably use the hotel again once it is fully refurbed.
