Braunbär Hotel & Spa

Great location, very central, 4 mins walk from Wengen station on the main street; good views from the balcony; efficient friendly staff at reception; decor is warm and thoughtfully done; you're right in the heart of the action.

The family room is very small for four people if the children are any older than 7 years or so (ours were 20 & 17 !); there's minimal storage space so you end up living out of suitcases; the power sockets are maddeningly recessed so you cannot insert a travel adapter; our bathroom extractor was broken so very steamy & a bit smelly with 4 people using and no exterior window); there is only one lift for the building so you spend ages waiting at busy times and often end up walking - not ideal to the 4th floor; breakfast was reasonable but some things not great that could be better with a little effort EG real rather than powdered scrambled eggs, properly cooked bacon with some crisp, rather than fatty under cooked swimming in liquid.

This was a charming hotel right on the main drag of Wengen. We loved being able to get off the train and walk only a few minutes to our loggings. Our room was small but comfortable. We loved the pool and sauna and breakfast was good as well. We did not get to try the restaurant at the hotel but it is very close to another pasta restaurant that was delicious so food is a win/win no matter what.

Good location and overall good and helpful staff...! Premise offered some great views of the valley and was very centrally located in Wengen with all good spots at a short walk

Better breakfast spread and some variety in that and rooms could also do with some sound proofing (especially ones on the first floor)

Sauna and steam room were great after a long day of walking. Aperol Spritz’s were some of the best I’ve ever had!

Room was small. Unbelievably expensive for what it was. The balcony was almost as big as the room itself. Poor availability of teas and coffee in the room.
