Beautiful old building, feels like you're in a movie.
Beautiful mountain view at breakfast.
Our room's door to the corridor wasn't very sound proof. That should be fixed by making sure it sits in the frame perfectly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is a historic building so do not expect modern conveniences. Breakfast included was adequate to start your day. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant. Our room faced the mountains which gave us an incredible view- the highlight of our stay.
Did not like the shared bathroom and shower on the floor. But we expected this and it wasn't so bad. Never had to wait to use the facilities. The showers were clean.

From Stechelberg catch the cableway get to Murren (this is the mega Cable way which goes to Birg and all the way up to Shilthorn). Or a smaller cableway car which takes you to Stechelberg - Gimmelwald - Murren, you need to switch cable cars at Gimmelwald). Murren has two cableway stations, Murren BLM and Murren(the Shilthorn line). I got the Berner Oberland 10 day pass and rode the cableways/trains many times. My room has great views of the mountains when the skies cleared. Breakfast is good. Fantastic baked bread from local area. Staff is helpful. You can ask the kitchen for hot water if you want to make some hot drinks or for your cup noodles.
Eating out is expensive at Murren. The room we booked don't have microwave and kettle. Apparently the hotel removed kettles because some foolish customer boiled instant noodles in the kettle, thus causing a mess and damaging it. I recommend buying some food at Coop, Lauterbrunnen. Or just find a cheap food in Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald, maybe Wengen. There is one shared toilet for men and one for women. The shower area is combined which makes it awkward. Toilet and showers are clean all the time. Just have to make sure your number 2 isn't done during peak time.

Absolutely loved our magical stay here! It is a beautiful old hotel, stunning views, with cozy beds and bedding. Shared bathrooms were clean and easy. Breakfast was delicious! Mürren is a wonderful for exploring - and we really enjoyed the pass to the local pool as well!
No down sides from my perspective- I loved it so much!

Perfect location in Mürren with incredible views from the breakfast room and also the terrace bar. Indoor lounge area was large, comfortable, quiet and classy. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Where there were communal facilities (toilet/showers) these were clean and never busy

The building was what you would expect as a hotel/hostel. Shared bathroom and showers were fine. Rooms with a bed were fine and do the job
The staff that worked here either didn't know what they were doing or didn’t care.
When asked about laundry nearby to wash clothes we were given a vague response of somewhere to wash clothes but that they had no dryer. No effort to really help out.
At breakfast the coffee machine was broken every morning. The response was to go to the other room to get one but none of the guests knew where he was referring to and once again little care was given.
The next morning a fellow staff member was taking orders. After about 5 minutes she disappeared and never came back. The other team member kept telling guests someone was coming to take orders but nobody ever returned.
No follow up or effort on anyones part.
We also came home after a hike and decided to sit outside on the empty terrace as it was the only place to sit that wasnt in a cramped room. Despite no other guests around the staff came out to tell us we had to order food or drink to stay there. This seemed pretty petty seeing as we were guests at the hotel and we had nowhere else to sit besides our room.

Actually everything was just perfect. We loved everything about the hotel, location and convenience.

Super beautiful view, fun to be able to spend time in Murren.
That we had to pay to go up and down the gondola each time we left to go to our car.

The staff were friendly and professional.
The breakfast room/restaurant was adequate and had great views.
The breakfast and coffee were fine.
The hotel was rundown. Weeds grew in the broken pavement in the front yard. The hallway carpets were ragged and musty. The parquet floors in the room were badly worn and coming apart. The main light source in the room was a naked bulb sticking out of the wall. Same in the bathroom. The view that we were promised consisted of a grocery store on one side and a hotel on the other. The hotel exuded a sneering disregard for guests that bordered on fraud.

Murren was fantastic!
I was disappointed there weren't more lunch and dinner options at the restaurant.
They had a very large restaurant sitting area to include multiple rooms, lounge area, and outside area. I was very disappointed we couldn't enjoy the sitting areas with our own food and drinks while staying at the hotel. I understand not allowing outside food and drink in the main restaurant but the other areas really should have been a available for guest to use.
The staff wasn't overly helpful or friendly. They were adequate. The hotel was not staffed beyond around 7:00. Very unusual.
The hotel had a cart to haul things in. It would have been nice to offer it to guests for use to haul luggage to and from the train station as it was quite a distance for those with notable luggage.

Lovely old hotel in a great location in Murren with the best views of the mountains! Clean and tidy, including the shared bathrooms. Really liked the vintage style decor in the rooms. Great breakfast, lots of variety. We had the Panorama Room with a balcony which had amazing views, as does the main hotel terrace and dining area. Great location at the other end of Murren meant the location was quiet - the only sound was cow bells on the upper meadows!
Only one toilet per floor made it quite busy at peak times. Dining was limited at the hotel, although the set menu was great value, it did not really cater for kids or teens and a number of other hotels and restaurants were closed. That meant we had to eat out or get food from the supermarket (it's got a great selection btw) - quite limited without jug, microwave of fridge. However, it is a hotel and so did not expect that to be provided - just a word of caution if you are travelling with kids. Staff were friendly but pretty casual. Outside the hotel and terraces could use a bit of tidy up.

Hotel in general was very clean; particularly the lounge and restaurant areas which were normally busy with large groups of tourists. The common shared bathrooms and shower facilities were well laid out and serviced. Although the hotel felt more like a hostel for large groups, it was well kept. The lounge was equipped with board games and lounge chairs with a small bar to the side with a good assortment of beverages.
We were very happy that we only booked breakfast and not the half-board including supper, The quality of the restaurant food service was less than what we expected. The breakfast buffet and supper buffet offered the absolute bare minimum and it seemed like an inconvenience for the hotel staff. This was a daily theme. Specifically, the small breakfast buffet fruit and vegetable trays were not replenished, and once the coffee cups at the coffee machine and the food plates ran out, they were not replaced and you were out of luck. The supper buffet was well over-priced for the lack of variety and lack of quantity at the buffet table.

Bathroom is common and is not in the room, as the hotel is historic 130 years old.

Breakfast was great.
The walls are very thin, you can hear everything, I mean everything. The bed was not comfortable. We wanted to eat dinner at the hotel when we arrived, but there was no meat left, so they did not let us in to the restaurant.

Incredible views from the room and excellent location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had a nice balcony. Solid breakfast with a variety of options.
We knew about the shared bathrooms, but there is only one toilet per gender per floor which is not enough, and we often had to wait for the bathroom. The rooms were pretty utilitarian, and the beds weren't very comfortable. No turndown service. They room keys were fiddly and annoying to use.

The view from the hotel and room, and balcony is gorgeous! The hotel was conveniently close to the Stechelberg cable car station, making it easy to access.
The shared toilet system would have been okay if there were more than one toilet per floor (people would get annoyed and start standing there and knocking), and if the light wasn't turning off after one minute, and you'd need to wave your arms up like a maniac. My kids were scared of staying in the darkness on the toilet, and the sensor wasn't catching kids' movements, so anytime one child wanted to use the bathroom, I had to go with them.
Another big con was that the walls and floors were insanely thin. You could hear everyone talking or snoring in the room, not only next to you, but even two rooms away or underneath you. This caused some couple on our floor banging on everyone's door at night and yelling to sh*t up, because they couldn't tell who it was.
My child was also fascinated that parts of the floor in our room were coming off (it needs some maintenance), and that to reach the elevator, you still needed to go up one floor. Wish there were more choices than just one meat choice for dinner - and for kids, it was between chicken nuggets or pasta (we took pasta, and one portion arrived overcooked, and the second portion didn't arrive until we finished eating and ended up splitting the first between two kids).
Nothing we couldn't handle, but considering paying so much per night, I would expect it to be slightly better.

The stay was pleasant and enjoyable. The view from the hotel lobby to the mountains is magnificent, and the breakfast is very good.
The hotel is very old and charming, but it needs some maintenance. In both rooms I stayed in, the bed slats broke and I fell through — the beds are of poor quality and should be replaced. Still, the hotel offers good value for Swiss standards and I recommend it with some reservations.

Cannot beat the views from the dining room. Great location in Murren as a base camp for day hikes.
Shared bathroom! Many places in the area have this, really just a minor inconvenience considering where you are. Also the dinner was reservations only because they have to know how many people to cook for. Tough when you arrive in the evening… options in town are very limited!

An unforgettable night at Mirren. Very friendly staff, fast check-in. My room was located next to the elevator, luckily it didn't bother me. There is a mountain view outside the window. The room is small, but clean and tidy. The breakfast is hearty and most importantly the view is unbeatable. Next to the coop, the cable car to the Schilthorn can be reached in a few minutes.
The floor can make a lot of noise. Bathrooms are shared by men and women, so it can be uncomfortable.

nothing bad, the place is really good for a short stay and the location is very convenient. Just don’t expect something very luxurious since the place feels a little old and crowded but nothing too bad!

Hotel Regina would have been fabulous in its day.
It is an old hotel which has not been luxuriously renovated, this makes it interesting with creaky floorboards which need to be sanded and polished.
We had to carry our heavy suitcases through the snow from the cable car and later found out that you can get something to carry them for 20 CHF which you return.
The location is glorious but the building itself is more like a great youth hostel than a luxury hotel, which is fine if you know that beforehand.
The staff are very nice and helpful.
There is no kettle or tea and coffee in the room, but you can get hot water from the bar.
The wooden tables and beds may have been there originally but somehow they are too puritanical and some more comfort, colour and sparkle is required.
