Cozy Hotel with Stunning Views

A small and cozy family-run hotel that provides everything one could wish for in such a beautiful village. The staff at both the reception and restaurant were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our balcony offered a breathtaking view of the valley and surrounding peaks, truly the highlight of our stay. Even if there had been something to complain about (which there wasn’t), the view alone and that single sunrise would make this hotel a solid 10/10. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, making it an easy place to relax after exploring the area.

Amazing Mountain View hotel in Murren

Amazing balcony view!

Small room but fine for sleeping. We were visiting to hike so we only slept in room. You can hang out on the balcony for great views.

Very dated. In desperate need for renovation. More like a hostel.

Location and view

The hotel is extremely dated. Everything smells and feels old and needs urgent renovation to even be considered a hotel. Bathrooms are very old and small with odd appliances and setups for shower. Rooms are decorated with carpets that should have been ripped off a few decades ago. Plenty of stains. Beds are on a small side with uncomfortable mattresses. The hotel is not dirty but due to its dated decor it just feels bad to be inside. There is no elevator so be ready to bring your luggage to the 3rd floor via stairs. Breakfast was quite mediocre with very basic or even cheap ingredients (cheese, hams) where you have such a great variety of locally produced and fresh food. Overall I would only recommend to stay here if you need to spend 1 night in Murren to see this beautiful place but other than that it feels like a cheap hostel. I hope this building/location gets much needed renovation since the view is stunning. Staff was kind but they have very little to work with.

Modern mountain getaway that felt like a 3 star hotel. Def would stay again!

The location and views, the balcony, modern room - didn't look like the pictures here but compact, friendly staff - fully accommodating to my needs, full body towels, mini fridge in room.

No elevator but staff was willing to help bring luggage to room. Bed comfort issues. High tub wall. Low shower water pressure. Shower head - no gentle rain shower head. No AC but not needed with cool mountain air.

We booked a room with a balcony mountain view. The room was comfortable, the view sublime!

We booked a room for one night, just to enjoy the balcony view of the mountains. It was amazing! We were up there with the paragliders and looking down at Stechelberg far below. The room came with breakfast and as an early riser I was pleased that the lady in charge of the kitchen sent me back upstairs with a pot of coffee. There was a fridge in the room, and a little sitting area. A really fine room and a memorable stay. Breakfast was included, simple but adequate.

Well Located, Friendly, Just Watch the View

For my particular purpose in Mürren, as a participant in a weeklong sports camp, the location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. In general, it is about midway to anywhere in Mürren, which makes it quite convenient. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room had everything I needed, except for a bar of soap, which I had to get elsewhere. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of fresh bread and a popular egg cooker. Coffee and tea are freshly prepared to order for each guest, which is truly excellent. The view from the breakfast room is also a highlight. The only shortcomings at breakfast were the lack of fresh fruit (the single bowl of apples did not quite suffice) and the juice, which was just not very good. Still, I appreciated other details, such as the daily fresh-cut slices of cucumber and tomato, which paired nicely with a boiled egg.

My room had no view, and this was not immediately clear from my reservation, which was silent about that. I wish the hotel's description of the room would include details about whether one ends up on the spectacular side (towards the Eiger mountain) or on the dull side (facing nothing much).

Absolutely unforgettable stay – the best mountain views on earth

This hotel took our breath away. The views alone are reason enough to stay here—truly some of the most stunning mountain scenery we’ve ever seen, anywhere in the world. But what made it even more special was the warmth and kindness of the staff. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our stay comfortable. It felt like a small-town, family-run place where hospitality still means something—they were flexible, thoughtful, and always willing to go the extra mile. We left feeling so grateful and already dreaming about coming back.

Best mountains view ever, fantastic view and quiet location, best place to relax. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. The food was excellent also. (Thanks to everyone at Hotel Alpina, we really enjoy our staying.)

Rooms are too small but okay. No elevator to get to the top floor. The location is a little complicated to find but once you there, the effort was worth it. Other than, all good. This city and hotel are 100% recommended in my opinion.

Warm hospitality, stunning views, cleanliness and a perfect location near Mürren BLM train station

Exceptional location, very close to the Mürren BLM station. Generous and varied breakfast served in a lounge with spectacular panoramic views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the three peaks: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. The staff were very kind and empathetic in the face of an unexpected and very difficult health issue for us: from the receptionists to the waiters, everyone was very attentive and supportive. We hope to return to Mürren, and if rooms are available, we will stay at Hotel Alpina again. Thank you for everything.

You can’t pick a better view!! We loved staying up in Murren where it was a little quieter. The cablecar and connecting train make it easy to get up and down from the valley. Staff was so so friendly, room very comfortable.
