Probably the best view in Noordhoek from the room.

Fantastic view from the room, good breakfast and friendly staff.

The rooms and gardens could do with a bit of TLC. There was only a bath and no shower.

Needs a lot of TLC and safety upgrades.

The website. Food was good.

No railing on some stairs. No lights at night in some areas so walking to the room was dangerous. My husband, 82 years old , fell down steps that did not have a railing one night in the dark. He was injured and ed spent the next day at a hospital having X-rays and MRI scan, cost a bit, but the trauma was much worst. My daughter’s fridge in her room didn’t work, my bedside lamp didn’t work, we had no hand towel and my daughter had a dirty towel in her room.

The view

The room "Elephant". Saturday night the wind was blowing and branches were banging on the roof so much so that we could not sleep. We recorded it on our cellphone. At 23h30 no one was on duty, so we packed up and left to find a place where we could sleep. The following morning I phone and spoke to Mr Africa and the general manager and explained the problem. I DO EXPECT A REFUND FOR ONE NIGHT STAY.

Bed not great. Taps on gorgeous basin in bathroom not practical at all for functioning correctly. Balcony could be cleaned better as there were cigarette butts still laying around 🫤

Beautiful home from home in a canopy of trees.

Very relaxed home from home - this isn’t a luxury 5 star resort but I can assure you you will absolutely love it. The relaxed but professional vibe is such a win. Staff were absolutely incredible. Hospitality at its best. The food at the restaurant was fabulous. I don’t think you can get a better steak in Cape Town. Loved it here. The setting is magnificent.

Can’t add much here. Our room was quite cold but I don’t think that can be said of all the rooms. There are conferences going on so sometimes these “work” conversations flow into your mealtimes etc. Can’t really fault anything. Place was fab.

Cute accommodation with a beautiful breakfast terrace

Location was amazing with a beautiful view on Nordhoek beach from the breakfast terrace! Cute little room with a chimney, felt like a special experience.

Unfortunately, we only had a bathtub. That was quite annoying because it was impossible to shower without flooding the whole bathroom.

The Breakfast Buffet was a little let down, it was cold and no more plates or cutlery was available. The Sauces and Salt and Pepper could do with a good wipe, and the little basket on the table was tacky

Our Buffet Breakfast was ok Not quite up to the Hotels standard, it was already cold by the time we went to eat, and just in general the cleanliness of the salt and pepper pots was a little shabby.

Not suitable for us two in our eighties.

Food was very acceptable, tasty dishes cooked to our liking. Very nice breakfast choice. The hotel has a great team of staff in all departments and always available to help with a smile. It was a busy time (Christmas) with lots of pressure including a wedding. Hats off to all the staff who helped to make our visit far more memorable during some uncomfortable times.

Rough terrain, two many steps and little support rails on the steps.we do not believe this is wheel chair friendly and it's not suitable for the elderly who suffer with aches and pains. One shouldn't have to get on the floor to access the poorly equipped wardrobe to access the safe at the bottom of the very small wardrobe.This room requires a lot of maintenance. Victorian style bath and handset shower head. Limited us to restricted washing apart from the water that managed to saturate the room when the shower head was turned on. Curtains didn't do much to protect ones privacy from outside. Door locks are faulty along with windows catches. No views just milk wood trees and decaying bush. We believe there are nicer views and rooms on the premises. We booked through Booking .com and we ended up paying a bank charge of 380 for exchange charges. Due to the fact that our costs of payment was in Rand but when paid to Booking.com head office abroad. Which is a first for us so bonuses where depleted.

Would not go again. Very expensive for a subpar hotel

The location is beautiful. Room is nice and big but outdated and old.

The staff were not helpful, and the restaurant staff were disappointing. Not friendly or helpful. Would not recommend the "spa" option as they make use of independent contractors and the massage was horrible. The place requires maintenance.

The cottage and view of the beach was amazing. The cottage itself was beautiful and well maintained. The rooms with views were stunning! Appreciated the fully equipped kitchen - with fridge, stove, cutlery, crockery and glasses.

Main receptionist on 30th dec and 1st jan wasn't very friendly. We were not given clear instruction on check out time and had been previously informed it was 11am not 10am so she when she informed us we were late to check out - she was a bit rude and condescending!

😁 On the positive side is the location with the fantastic Noordhoek beach and also the view over the beach, charming wooden houses, Chapmans peak trail, the charming staff and the somewhat bohemian ambience.

☹️ We didnt get the room we booked. There was no open fire place, one room instead of two, no refrigerator, no TV and the room looked clearly different, better and larger on the pictures in the booking. This was admitted by the reception staff. The balcony was shared with four or five rooms. The explaination given was that they didnt have other free rooms :(. The check out time is at 10 AM which is way to early when you are on vaccation. It was possible to hear almost everything said, music etc from neughbouring rooms. The breakfast was ok, very basic.

Terrible and poor management

The location was good

I came for two days to relax with my husband but we didn’t enjoy it at all as we didn’t have any water for the whole stay ; we couldn’t shower nor cook or have a coffee. When I called the staff members , they said there is nothing we could do because the municipality is working on the area Is that my problem ?? And why you didn’t have a plan b for such issue?? I was extremely disappointed for paying a lot of money for such a terrible stay I will never go back there again

WE WILL BE BACK FOR A LONGER PERIOD

Loved the area, the look and feel, the view and the breakfast was good. We had lunch as well and it was really awesome. Would have stayed longer if we could and we will be back.

The rooms/furniture is a little dated and could do with a bit of modernization but everything else made up for that.

Apart from the room being cold, forcing me outside for much of the day, it was nice and relaxing.

Tranquility during the week. Easy access to the vast beach. Close enough to the Nordhoek Village Market for a nice walk.

The cottage was cold as it is in the shade when the sun is up. With the fireplace, the wood provided would not light (no combination of fire starters and kindling worked) so it was difficult to stay in except for sleeping.

Cosy and spectacular

The room felt like a tree house with the leaves brushing on the windows. It was super cosy with a fireplace. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the live music they had at the restaurant.

Weekend away for 50th birthdays and our 26th anniversary

Thankyou to the manager for organising me a braai grill area and for the wood and starter kit to have the braai.The food and the scenery and staff were amazing...thankyou.

It brought us so much peace and quiet...it was breathtakingly surreal and enjoyable loved every minute..no complaints .

Beautiful and Special.

The setting is so beautiful, and the milkwoods really stunning. The rooms are beautiful and quaint. Monkey Valley is a very special place.

Everyone is very friendly and lovely. At times it feels like there is a lack of attention to detail though which is a bit of a shame.
