Wonderful stay in Sea Point!

We are so glad to have chosen Melanie's wonderful property for our last nights in Cape Town. The atmosphere was incredibly homey and welcoming, making it feel more like a comfortable home than a hotel. Everything was spotless and well maintained, which really added to the overall experience. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. It felt like we were staying at a family member's home, honestly. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean, cozy place to stay in Cape Town.

Just perfect!

The staff is super friendly and service minded! The location is great, on a quiet street but really close to the beautiful beach walk along Clifton beaches and Camps Bay. The building is charming with its old character, it offers a large swimming pool and a super cosy breakfast terrace. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The Walden Suites was gorgeous and very welcoming. My family and I stayed in the terrace seaview suite, which was beyond spacious. Breakfast was delicious. The property iteslf was very relaxing - you could enjoy tea outside, read in the garden, sit by the pool. It's a place you want to sit and enjoy, rather than just a place to lay your head at night. Would definitely stay here again. Zo, Melanie and James were the best!!! also - I was worried about parking, but it wasn't an issue. They have spots on the driveway, which was never full, but it is also safe and convenient to street park.

Super nice stay in Sea Point!

Friendly staff, perfect location in Sea Point, parking place, comfortable room with en suite bathroom.

Nothing! Things to bear in mind (we didn’t check before so our bad) - no air conditioning (not too bad in early December, but we were warm one night) - some rooms have bathrooms outside, so you would have to walk in the shared corridor (ours had ensuite instead)

Big, comfortable, quiet, kinda like a very nice home away from home!

We loved our stay at The Walden Suites. Having travelled around 28 hours from New Zealand it was so nice to arrive somewhere friendly, comfortable, quiet and not a huge faceless hotel. Fresnaye is beautiful and close to some great restaurants and the room was light, airy and tastefully decorated. We spent loads of time on the balcony with a stunning seaward view and the breakfasts were great. Melanie and the rest of the team were all helpful and lovely to deal with. We braved the pool, which was refreshing! It was September...

Absolutely fabulous

This was such a lovely homely small hotel. The rooms are comfy with thoughtful touches. We had a lovely sea view. The staff are incredible and the breakfast was delicious. Small touches like an honesty bar & snack bowl just added to the homely feel. Also loved the location at the top of a quieter street but close enough to everything to walk.

Beautiful and peaceful.

This is a beautiful guest house in a quiet street but still within walking distance of Sea Point. Our room was lovely and spacious with a stunning view from the balcony. Melanie and her staff are gracious hosts who make you feel really welcome. Breakfast is super and the coffee is so good. A really good salt water pool and very pretty gardens just round it all off. This will be my go to venue in CT from now on.

Excellent place to wind down our visit to Cape Town.

Breakfast was very good with a good variety of food. Staff were friendly and helpful. We really appreciated being able to leave our luggage on site while we explored the neighbourhood before flying out later that evening. Grounds are nicely shaded and you do get a nice view down to the sea and back to Lion's Head. Easy to get an Uber and a safe walk to the bars restaurants, and shops close by. Pool was refreshing! Our friends enjoyed their walk from the Walden to the V & A waterfront along the coastal promenade (during the day).

There are steep hills in the neighbourhood and the walk up to the Walden can be taxing, especially when it is warm. There is an elevator in the building but not sure if we could access it or not to move our luggage upstairs. There is construction behind the building which was noisy first thing in the morning. Unfortunately it will also degrade the view back to Lion's Head. They did advise us before hand about the construction which was appreciated.

It's a beautiful older building but the walls are thin, you definetly hear what up in the house. Pack up earplugs!

Breakfast was offered in generous quantities and with numerous options, suitable also for vegetarian/vegan diet. Wonderful fruits, veggies, pickles and sweets. Coffee was great. Everything was served by very polite staff.

I recently stayed at The Walden Suites and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The host, Melanie, was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. The staff was also incredibly friendly and made me feel at home. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious and healthy breakfast that was served every morning. It was a great start to my day and set me up for a productive day ahead. Last but not least, the pool was simply amazing. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day. Overall, I would highly recommend The Walden Suites to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The vibe is very nice, the staff is super friendly and helpful. It’s great to chill near the pool or on the balcony. The building and room are well maintained, it’s a homey environment.

Can not recommend as an up class residence.

Everything was basically ok, but!! The staff were friendly, helpful but inexperienced. See below.

We expected a 5 Star hotel from the info on their website, but the hotel is definitely not. Our room was disappointing, especially after what we had seen on the internet, and not one we wished to spend much time in. An example, the TV set did not work, was eventually replaced but the reception was still terrible, unwatchable. The comfort around the pool was definitely sub-standard, e.g. no cushions for the deck chairs. As said above, the staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be but so inexperienced. The Walden Suites should be classified as a "guest house" with limited facilities and not as a Star rated hotel, too many things are missing. Our second week we spent at the Vineyard Hotel, a genuine 5 star hotel with every comfort, it was like chalk and cheese.
