Lovely oasis away from the hustle and bustle

The hotel is lovely. The staff are excellent and are very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much and they made our stay top notch! Johan, in particular, was great and very helpful.

Nothing about the hotel! The crane obstructing the view was unfortunate but that is out of the hotel’s control. For full disclosure, we may not have booked this location had we known in advance, but weren’t made aware until after we booked and paid. (It was non-refundable.). Having said that, the stay was really enjoyable nonetheless and we would definitely return.

Beautiful sea view

I love the sea view in my room, it was stunning. The bed quality was good too. The room was lovely.

A strong smell was coming from the bathroom ... it was very noisy I could hear all the kitchen noise, and people talk. The lady at the reception is really not friendly, helping and smiling... However Albert the driver and some people at the breakfast have been wonderful

Excellent, staff and facilities

Breakfast was excellent with good food and plenty of choice. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, all of them ,but especially Johan. Pool area nice and calm. Staff looked after us following check out until we left at 5pm

Nothing could be better, except I was disappointed that the Spa facility was temporarily closed, something I had been looking forward to. For 5 * we would have expected a restaurant in the evenings, would have been nice, although staff recommendations were good.

I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. It was very clean and the breakfast was really good with lots of fresh fruit.

The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Johann was particularly attentive and helpful.

Unfortunately there is a large crane a short while away blocking some of the view of the sea .. which is obviously not the fault of the hotel.

A perfect base for visiting Cape Town in style

A wonderful boutique hotel where you're treated like royalty! We loved our honeymoon stay at Compass House. From the moment you arrive, they take good care of you - never over-bearing, but always attentive and kind. The hotel is small, so you're one of only a dozen or so guests, which is relaxing and intimate but totally on your terms as a guest, and the staff know who you are and what you need at all times. We stayed in Room 8 - just down below the pool area, which is tucked away amongst gorgeous-smelling Jasmine plants, and nice and quiet (although you can't see the sea view as clearly, the privacy is worth it). We particularly loved: The attentive staff who were fun, charming, informative and caring throughout our stay The breakfast, which is delicious and has a little bit of whatever you need The views of the sea from the pool and breakfast terrace The pool area is lovely, peaceful and calming The little extras like honesty-policy drinks whenever you need, snacks and filtered water on tap The gorgeous poolside garden surrounded by Jasmine The building feels safe and secure, like a peaceful home in Cape Town The location is great - the City Centre & Waterfront are 10-15 mins taxi away, Camps Bay is 5-10 mins down the road, and you can easily head down to the Peninsula without having to go through the city centre. All-in-all, highly recommended!

The only minor issue was that the room 8 front door had a large gap under it, which allowed leaves to blow into the room during a particularly windy night. But this is hardly a big issue and we popped a towel down to stop it! :)

A place for connoisseurs of luxury small hotels.

Compass House is run by people who really understand 5-star comfort for their clients. The place is perfectly located in bantry Bay, with a beautiful sea view. It is absolutely serene; even the selected music adds to the 'zen' kind of atmosphere. The whole 'house', the staff's politeness and service reminded me of the top boutique hotels in Switzerland or Italy, excellent! Rooms like luxury cabanas, out of a 60s Hollywood movie but with the most modern facilities. Big inviting pool with super view of the ocean. Breakfast: Both selections offered and service immaculate. Ready to stay there again, when in Cape Town. Would recommend it unconditionally, to the connoisseurs of luxury small hotels.

There is no gym at the moment. However, one is being created, as I was informed, and will be ready early next year. Not much else to complain about.

Amazing staff, breakfast, and views... so long as there is another deal, we'll be back!

The staff were incredible. So kind, thoughtful, accommodating, and provided exceptional service. The breakfast was also delicious! The views were wonderful, especially when considering the comparable prices for the area, sadly a huge crane blocked the sunset, but that wasn't their fault. If there was another deal, I would happily stay here again for the people, view, and breakfast.

While we loved the view from the room and it was overall nicely appointed, it was long and narrow, which made it hard to sometimes maneuver. And there were some quirks like the lighting / switches, or for instance, the shower head was at chest height, meaning you had to always hold it to wash, and a few other things, but nothing that wouldn't have us come back. We did get a good deal, but if we stayed here at the full rate I may have been a little more disappointed.

Wonderful stay at boutiwue hotel with magnificient sunsets over the sea.

The cottage had a wonderful view of the sea from the private terrace. It was a nice touch to have canapes and drinks every evening. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The morning and evening managers were super pleasant and welcoming.

Delightful quiet and spacious boutique hotel 5 mins drive from Camps Bay and Seapoint. The room was extremely comfortable, and the pool deck fantastic for a day soaking up the sun and admiring the ocean view. Johan, Gerhard and the staff were superb and couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommended !

This hotel was amazing. The views were great, it’s in a great location (near Clifton beach and Camps Bay) and also near the city, the staff were brilliant… honestly could not fault it. Oh, and the breakfast… wow! Starting every day on the balcony with that breakfast was something special. Just awesome!

Great hotel and marvellous staff.

The buffet breakfast was very good, with the option of choosing a cooked breakfast from the menu. Staff were very helpful and pleasant and made our stay very relaxing and a pleasure. The view from the hotel is superb, you simply cannot ask for better.

The absence of being able to dine at the hotel in the evening was a minor inconvenience, but it did force us to go out in the evenings, which was also a pleasure.

Perfect luxury relaxing location for Cape Town!

We stayed for 4 nights in the cottage room and it was a 10/10 experience, better than we had hoped for. Highlights were the staff (helped with bookings for restaurants etc) the hotel itself was in a stunning location , very calm and serene, could have lounged by the pool forever! I would both return to again , and recommend to anyone!

Not close/walkable to anything but this isn't a problem, we used uber Black to get around with no issues.
