Unclear how this is allowed on booking.com - no door signage to state they are cozy room - you have to book to find out more about the Property and I had booked without a free cancellation option. - Nothing on the page about there being a 5pm to 9pm check in. - No info about there being a 10pm curfew if you stay at the property - No info that quiet time is from 10pm onwards - No info that there is no access to the kitchen Other cons - Fridge doesnt work - the food I had made had gone off by the 2nd day I had stayed. - no lock on door - towel is like cardboard

Nice and quite room to stay with a family.

Nice clean and well kept room living with the landlord. The place was well maintained and clean. Conveniently placed at Botley with access tot he A34 and also towards the city centre. If you are looking for a quite place to stay in the area with a home like feeling this is definitely a good choice. Street parking around the property is ample. Very nice location to live.

It was a bit difficult to identify at the beginning since it is simply a house between others but with a quick phone call this was sorted out.

Excellent value for money for a short simple stay

Lovely and clean. Room a bit small but good facilities (for the price it was excellent). Bathroom brilliant. Quiet. Biscuits could have been a bit fresher(obviously a minor oversight). I am used to a king size bed at home so the perfectly adequate single bed felt strange but comfortable. Host was pleasant but I didn’t see him much( not a problem just a comment). Gods convenient arrangements for key etc.

Nice little room

The room is nice and simple with a quite a few amenities. Dave was really helpful. It was very clean and the bathroom was also uncluttered and tidy.

I read plenty of reviews before booking but did not think it will be this bad... Unfortunately, I have to say that the place is not clean at all. The room needs hoovering, dusting and airing. The bed size and mattress are passable. No toiletries offered. The complimentary water bottle offered was opened so I had to ask for another one. Dave, the host, seems to be quite chatty and accommodating otherwise. I understand that this is a room in a family home, even more so I expected the above to have been slightly better than they were... The way the place is at the minute should not even be on this platform.

Onestly, I chose this location because it was the cheappest

First,the host,I had to beg him to let me check in around 9pm,wich I really don't understand why he insisted on because the check in was by a key left in a box outside the house, so it was self check in,the bathroom that was shared one with the family, the fact that he asked to keep my belongings in my room all the time although there is no lock on the door and you don’t have a key to lock it,the interdiction to talk on the phone after 10pm,to keep quiet all the time specially after 10pm,wich he did not do when she shouted at the TV after 11pm(I'm guessing it was a football match),and someone else was in the house aswell slaming the doors, the distance from the city,the house has some neighbors with small children wich they scream from the top of their lungs in the back yard and overall the feeling that you have staying in the house knowing that you are not allowed to do much,the fridge wasn't working and the towel was a used one,so,before you even think of booking this one,think again and really read all the reviews,I don't even know how this one is on Booking .

ideal overnight stop

as described a lovely Cozy Room on a peaceful estate in a nice quiet area with a short walk to the shops. Complimentary water and coffee was a nice touch much appreciated. Dave and Ming were great hosts, sharing local recommendations and directions. Nice clean room, comfortable bed, ideal for my overnight stop.

Just as advertised, but you really should read the reviews before booking

Fairly quiet and comfortable room. There was a bathroom just across the hall and though it was shared with the host family, that was never a problem. My rate was $35 a night, which is quite a bargain for a private room. I ran out of room on "What didn't you like?" so let me continue here.... Finally, I didn't find the host or the environment very welcoming. The host was relatively humorless and a down-to-business type, which is fine, but not the kind of hospitality I've been accustomed to in my Britain travels. He made it clear that I was to only have access from the front door to the room to the toilet, and given his demeanor I dared not challenge any of it nor the curfew. All of the rooms other than the bathroom or my "Cozy Room", all the other doors had "PRIVATE" signs posted. After the rather dry introduction, however, I never heard from him or his family again, although his daughter occupied the room next door and I could occasionally hear her talking on the phone or singing to herself, but that was not a bother.

The room and stay was mostly as described, but there were a few things that I found bothersome. Most importantly, it is not very convenient to Oxford city center. Some of this may be due to construction around the train station and the buses did not run all the way through. Although there is a bus stop just around the corner, the buses mostly seem to run toward Oxford from there and it was challenging to find a bus that stopped there on my return. In fact, the three nights I stayed there, I could only get one bus to take me to the Lime Street stop. Otherwise, the 400 bus stopped at Raleigh Park Drive, which is about a half-mile or more walk UPHILL to Turner Drive, which wasn't bad the second night, but the first night I had my heavy backpack, so it was quite the hike. In the morning, however, buses left from Lime Street every half hour, but they dropped you a half-mile from the train station. This had profound implications on my traveling style. Normally, I like to have breakfast, sightsee from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., then return to my room for a shower and a quick lie-down before doing any evening activities. But being so remote from Oxford proper, it was at least 40 minutes to a good breakfast spot and the late afternoon break was impossible so I had to plow through until after dinner. Also, the strict 10 p.m. curfew made any theatre outings or other evening activities impossible. Not many complaints about the room itself, but it's clear that they are just trying to earn some extra money from the spare room with as little effort as possible. The towel they provided was seriously threadbare. I have fairly long hair and by the time I wrung that mop out, the towel was sopping and pretty useless for the rest of me. The listing said the room had a desk, but that turned out to be a folding TV tray table, and given the small size of the room, it was rather difficult to work with as I had to keep moving it around to make a cup of tea or open a window.

Cozy room more than cozy

Cleaning and general comfort were way above value for money.

Maybe one small thing...the window was locked and I wanted to open it just a bit in the morning. For this reason I let the door open for fresh air when I left to visit the city centre. Distance to the city was not a big deal because you are going through a nice forest.

The room had everything I could possibly need for a 1 night stay. Minimal noise in a quiet neighbourhood and clear signs as to what I could access and what I could not. Very nicely decorated throughout.

It is a small but cozy room (Hey that is the name!). The owner was kind and welcoming. You also get some coffee/tea, fruits, and cookies in the room so it is nice. Location was less than 3 mins walking to the closest bus stop.

Very friendly people, and the place cosy and nicely decorated! Warm room, great showering facilities, and complementary tea / porridge. Great value for price.

Only thing that wasn't comfortable was the bed, which was a little hard, and the blanket not breathable. But I'm a very sensitive sleeper - might be fine for most.
