Weekend getaway

Very central, walking distance from places to visit. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, and the staff was very nice and helpful.

The taps and shower are outdated, and also the window has barely any insulation (we were expecting noise from the pub downstairs, but you can hear the road as if you’re standing outside). We went prepared with earplugs and I’d advise everyone to take them if they want to get any sleep.

Stellar location and excellent value for money.

Clean and had everything we needed. Couldn’t have asked for a better location. Breakfast was exceptional. Excellent value for money all round.

We knew about the noise prior to staying and, while it was very noisy up until 3am, the ear plugs provided with the room helped enormously.

Centre of town. Extremely Noisy

It’s in the centre of town. Receptionist very nice.

As described it is noisy. You might as well be out on the street in person after the nightclub. The noise settles down at around 5am, then the extractor fan comes on in the middle of the night and remains on for the day. Suitable for anyone in their late teens early twenties .

Very very good, very very nice

Central Location & welcoming. As always, a warm welcome when staying here. Lovely double room. Bed very comfortable. Nice Samsung tv with lots of channels and options. The breakfast is top class. Given it was last Saturday before Xmas it was more expensive than usual but still better value than other hotels.

A shelf near basin would be good for toiletries etc.

Uncomfortable stay due to noise and heating issues

The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed.

Noise from the street and from the bar couldn’t be blocked even with earplugs. I had to change rooms because the first one was cold and the heaters didn’t work. You really need to replace the windows — they don’t block either noise or cold. I had a horrible night. The shower water was not hot, so I couldn’t even warm myself. I was informed about the noise only after booking a non-refundable room for €170. Stupid me. Lesson learned: always check Google Maps reviews first — the rating there is 3.9.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in.

Not a whole lot, except the girl on reception was nice. Bed was comfy too.

No hot water when I arrived, so a freezing cold shower. Was told it would be fixed later on (it was). TV channels didnt work, staff came to fix but couldnt. They did offer to move me to a different room due to the tv but I explained the hot water was a bigger issue and I stayed where I was. Top of the cold tap in the sink came off every time I touched it. The noise was bad (top floor room 16, but the worst was at 7am in the morning a truck came possibly to drain tanks or something, the noise was unbelievable. No such thing as a lie in

What a cool quirky hotel, love the old style of everything and the classic feel to the whole place, great staff, room 7 was really quiet despite all the warnings about noise, best sleep I've had in some time, would highly recomend this hotel, gutted I didin't get to try the breakfast, maybe next time.

The location of Kelly's Hotel was perfect. So close to restaurants, shops and major tourist attractions. The breakfast provided in the French restaurant next door was exceptional. The room was clean, comfortable and charming. The bed was very comfortable. We were warned about the noise that could disrupt sleep, however, this was not an issue for us - perhaps this was because we weren't there over the weekend

The blinds covering the window have seen better days. A few of the blades were broken which just made the overall feel for the room a little bit worn-out/dated. Other than that, we were pretty happy with everything.

A hotel with a big heart

First and foremost, the staff were exceptional: from the great reception girls to the fantastic and hardworking bar staff to our lovely breakfast waiter. Couldn't fault the welcome or their efforts to make us delighted, which they did. Secondly, the location is brilliant - just minutes from the Gaiety Theatre, the reason for our visit. Thirdly, but not least, breakfast at le Gueuleton was absolutely outstanding. A tip: reserve a table at reception and it's €15 a head, whatever you choose. Just turn up and it's à la carte!

Nothing, really. The shower was a little small and the pillows a little soft, but there were nice towels, plenty of hot water, tea and coffee AND milk (!), and wooden shutters ensured a peaceful night. We also loved the toiletries provided. Add a bit more clothes storage and a couple of extra power sockets next to the bed, and it'd be perfect.

Amazing locat, staff, and breakfast! But also loud party street at night.

The reviews were mixed about how loud it is. The property is very forthcoming about the loud bar downstairs. I realized that the noise depends on which side Of the building you are on which is very random and you won’t find out until you check in. We were on the loud side. I didn’t realize that it’s more than just a bar. The entire street below is full of people partying until all hours of the night. But we did have earplugs and we were able to sleep. The other challenge was that the room was hot, but if we open the windows, it was too loud to sleep. The location was amazing (with the exception that it was one of the most crowded party streets at night), the staff were very helpful and the breakfast also amazing!!

A good place to stay if you want a reasonably priced hotel near the action and don’t mind climbing stairs.

The location was good, near bars and restaurants. The staff was very pleasant and helped us get our bags up and down the stairs. Also, they placed us on the top floor to minimize the noise, as this is a busy area, especially on weekends as it was when we were there. We were forewarned about the noise, so no surprises.

There is no lift and our room was up four flights of stairs. The hotel is above a bar, so some noise and a bit difficult to find.

Good location but not worth the price.

It was interesting. The location offers easy walking to all the tourist locations. The breakfast was awesome!

The staff put about zero effort into welcoming us. We stayed in a penthouse which had plenty of room, but it was not comfortable. The bed upstairs sunk down in the middle. The chairs were all shabby. There was a huge bean bag with a rip in it. The table and chairs look like they were picked up on the street corner. The shower was right next to the sink and toilet behind a glass wall, so there was zero privacy. There was a heavy wooden accordion door that was broken and half of it helped block the toilet but it was difficult. The window shades were ripped or missing and in June when it stays light so late at night it was hard to sleep. Not to mention the noise, but at least we were prepared for that.
