Great neighborhood/location.
It was strange to have to go up one elevator, cross the bridge across the street in the cool walkway, then go up in another elevator. Not a big deal.

The location of the hotel was ideal for our purposes. Everything worth seeing was within walking distance. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Rooms were clean and cozy.
The breakfast menu options weren't as varied as I would have hoped (especially at this price point).

The location and breakfast. And Joe Ballance the hotel's Guest Relations Manager. He did his absolute best to address the issues the hotel itself had presented. In reality monetary compensation was the only appropriate type of compensation that would have been acceptable for the issues we encountered. However couldn't offer this on his own. That would have taken more time and effort on our part to make our case to NYX corporate. But we had had enough. Joe offered complimentary drinks...we had one. And complimentary dinner...we passed, because we were in Dublin to go out and experience venues outside of the hotel.
A number of things. We were in Dublin for only 3 nights in early January 2026. They were 3 relatively clear but cold days and evenings. We had booked a Junior Suite over the bar & restaurant in the attached building overlooking Dame St. The heating system wasn't capable of keeping this room warm. No matter what we tried. Closing the curtains, etc. And as a result, the bathroom was very uncomfortably cold. We mentioned this to the front desk a number of times, but no one ever came to the room to try and fix it. The TV could not hold a singal. You would start watching and after a minute or two it would lose it's signal and go black. Again, this was mentioned to the front desk, and again no action at all. However the worst was the horrible sewer odours in the room. The first the odours were strong but we thought temporary. So we toughed it out over night. The next morning we mentioned the front desk...and again nothing! When we returned to the room on day two after being out, the sewer odours were so strong they were unbearable and I'm sure unhealthy. The odours were stasrting to make us ill. We called the front desk and that's where Joe got involved and camne to our room to inspect. He fully agreed with the issue and was looking to move us to the same room on the floor below...but the same issue. Uninhabitable was the word. So Joe offered us another smaller but nice room on the floor above but across the hall facing away from the street to sleep in or move to. We didn't want to move or sleep in another room over night because it was so disruptive for a 3 night stay. But it was impossible to stay or sleep in our room. So we agreed to take our pyjamas and tooth brushes to the other room to sleep and left our things in the Junior Suite. Jpe said the sewer odours we out of the hotel's control and it was the city's responsibility. Did I agree...kind of, but not really. My wife and I were incredibly frustrated.
