The location, cleanliness, and friendly staff.
The coffee machine in the lobby didn’t work properly when I tried to use it. Also, after cleaning the room one day, the staff placed only decaf coffee tablets for the coffee machine.

Great breakfast, very comfy beds. Really helpful staff.
There wasn’t a restaurant but we knew that and were happy to eat out.

The location was perfect and the front desk staff was very helpful
The building is aging, particularly the tile warming compliance in the bathroom. The drywall was loose and it almost fell.

Breakfast was very good. The location on the middle of the city was excellent. A good starting point for shopping and walking.
We were happy with everything.

I was able to check in early as my room was ready which I really appreciated. The room was very clean and it was great to have a kettle in the room. The shower was also very good. The hotel was only 13 to 15 minutes from the train station and about 5 from the historic centre .Very close to the art museum.

Right in the center of the city, so many eating options nearby. We were in town for a wedding and it fulfilled everything we needed for the wedding activities. Very stress free with staff available whenever needed!
There were 2 situations that weren't 100% ideal. The first was we got coffee from the cafe in the lobby delivered to our room, my girlfriend ordered a cappuccino and the staff said there was no milk and brought her an espresso. This was hard to believe as they do breakfast service. The second was the room service after the first night. They left us with 1 towel and left a dirty cleaning rag in the room - these were very minor issues and I personally would stay there again.

A great hotel, with an amazing breakfast in the heart if beautiful Rennes
We thought the breakfast was included and it wasn't and was rather expensive, but it was delicious

Nice welcome.
Nice hotel, great location.
Easy to access garage
We felt it was a little overpriced
Air-conditioning wasn't working very well. It was on but not effective. We forgot to let reception know on checkout 🤦♀️

The person at reception was very friendly and helpful, the beds were soft and comfy.
There are 3 Mercure hotels in Rennes with very similar names, that is very confusing when you try to find the hotel in Google maps, and even for local taxi drivers. Probably, Mercure should reconsider their naming convention for cases like this. Despite my express request to provide the room with 2 separated beds, which was confirmed by the property, we were given the room with one big bed. The room was quite OK; but after I requested to change the room, I was indeed given the room with 2 separated beds, but it was smaller and like 20 years without renovation. 19 EUR for breakfast for person is far too much for the site - we had a nice breakfast for 2 people at a local cafe for 16.50

Lovely hotel in great location clean and very nice staff
Well I could not believe that a night porter had no access to giving me a bottle of wine around 11pm as I had to go back to room while others stayed out this was the first time this ever happened to me in France

Central situation with underground parking. Excellent breakfast which was free as we were all over 60
Bit difficult to find.

This is a hotel we have used before....and will use again. The location is perfect for meandering5 around the city centre. The rooms are a good size and there is a good choice at breakfast. The added bonus is the underground parking on site.
we were completely satisfied.

Staff except for the lady in charge of breakfast were unpleasant

The location is ideal, and easy to walk from straight into the streets of Rennes. I walked from the train station easily, although the pavements are quite bumpy. The breakfast was exceptional, plenty of choice , buffet style. Lots of drink options, loose leaf teas, and lovely coffee. The staff were really nice, young, hard working and helpful if need be.
The bed was comfortable , nice sheets, pillows a bit soft but there were four. The shower was powerful and hot.
The carpet had dog hair on it when I arrived and also the bed spread, which upset me , seeing as it was a pricey room. I asked for a very good clean the next day , and this was done, so all was well. It does beg the question how a hotel can allow dogs in expensive carpeted rooms , it just isn’t nice!
The bathroom was a bit on the small side considering the spacious bedroom, and the towels rather small and thin.
8.0 / 10.0
The hotel's primary strengths lie in its excellent location and its exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.
Unfortunately, the hotel falls short of the expectations one might have for a four-star establishment. While it maintains cleanliness, the rooms appear outdated, with walls and bathrooms showing signs of wear and inadequately maintained cleanliness standards. Moreover, the absence of an on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner is a limitation, as guests are only offered breakfast, which doesn't quite meet the standards of a typical four-star experience, especially in cities like Paris or other major capitals. The limited variety of fruits, occasionally even lacking basics like bananas, is disappointing.
The towels also emit an aging odor, suggesting prolonged use, and amenities like irons and slippers are absent in the rooms, although they can be requested. Overall, it's a decent hotel, but it doesn't quite measure up to a four-star rating; it might align more closely with the standards of a two-star hotel in cities like Paris, Berlin, or New York.

The main strength of the hotel is the location - quite central, so you can reach any sights on foot. Our room faced the inner courtyard garden, which features a fountain - quite pleasant to listen to. The beds were quite comfortable. The breakfast was quite good, but pricey.
Our room, though called deluxe, was quite small. Since the sofa was open, we could clearly see the floor underneath hadn't been cleaned in months, there was dust and objects lying around - in stark contrast to the rest of the room.

Excellent location and nice property
garage pedestrian door was broken so accessable by outsiders.

Ideally placed for the centre of Rennes...nice buzz abut the area with local bars and restaurants
Perhaps more certainty about booking a parking space (which we got...thanks but) Most hotels are able to book the space ahead which is important to us.

GREAT STAFF! Comfortable beds, great location near lots of restaurants and shops. Be sure to go beyond the few streets around the hotel as there is so much to see. Very nice breakfast choices. My favorite hotel stay in France on this trip. Big fluffy towels too. Shout out to pharmacy just around the corner. They were so helpful!
A plus would have been laundry facilities on-site but found a clean laundromat not far.

Good location near restaurants and the saturday market.
Rooms are slightly dated and the carpets did not feel very clean.
Booked carpark under another app ( onepark.fr) because hotel doesn't allow booking but was told the app does not liaise with hotel so there was no lot.
