Perfect base for exploring Brittany

The hotel is very close to Rennes central train station, 3 minutes really, and to Musee de Bretagne, too. It is a perfect base for one day trips around Brittany (I stayed three days there). Nice good creperie, perfect for breakfast or dinner, 2 minutes away. Nevertheless, downstairs in the hotel there is self-service kitchen as well. The room was spacious, with comfortable bed and desk, good lightning, and good sound isolation too. The window has an electric jalousie; however, with the steering buttons close to the entrance to the room, not to the window.

The reception is in other hotel, Le Sevigne, on other street, which means there is some delay if you must contact them in person. Repeted wifi logging in is a bit troublesome.

Quite basic, like a hostel room

The location is very central. Reception at the hotel Le Sevigne is always available. The common kitchen is tidy and everyone has designated space. Drinking water dispenser is available next to the kitchen.

The bedlinen and towels were not very clean. My body was itchy after using the shower towel. The pillows stink (probably come from inside). Sound isolation is minor, I can hear everything from the neighbors and from the street. Every night I had to wait until 12 or 1 in the midnight so that people on the street were quiet. Bathroom was stinky, the sink had leakage. On the day of check out, I was using the bathroom around 10 o’clock (check-out is 11 o’clock), the cleaning staff already came into my room. This should not happen at a 3-star level hotel organization.

It is near the station. Room charge is affordable.

TV was broken, and nothing was done during three nights stay. The room was not maintained for the first day. The lobby kitchen smelled spoiled.

Right stay

Perfect place, nearby trains and buses. Friendly staff. Simple but comfortable and clean room with everything you need. There is common kitchen with all equipment - clean and good organized: in the kitchen for every room is its own fridge and box for food. Thank for hospitality!

For the fridge an the box it must be a key in the room. The manager informed me. But there was no key - probably a former guest took it with him. So, I was not able to use a fridge and a box. I think it would be better to keep keys at the receiption.

Comfortable and pratical hotel room

Clean comfortable little room, well situated 10 minutes walk from Rennes rail station, quiet at night, possibility to cook your meal in the common kitchen downstairs. The internet was quite fast.

On arrival, there was no reception and I could not enter because this is a small extension of the Sevigne Hotel with automatic functioning. I had to call reception and go there, which was ten minutes walk to get the code. Apparently, I missed the email where all this was explained, and it was not clearly stated when booking.

Room was clean and spacious, well set out + Great facilities. Reception also very helpful.

My check in was delayed by 1.5 hours and no real compensation offered. Room also had a very weird smell. There was also no proper curtain, so the street light come inside

Seriously overpriced with trick pricing. They tripled the price for my last night because they said there was a convention in town. But the place was still empty. I would not pay a premium price to stay here again.

It is a detachment of the hotel. So there is no receptionist and need to go to main hotel is you need anything else (breakfast, room access, baggage deposit)

Access to the hotel using a code was very difficult as they gave me the wrong code and I had to walk back twice to try and sort it out. The wifi kept cutting off after about one minute and then you had to reopen it and put the password in again. No one on site to help with problems. The place felt it was run without care. More like a centre for refugees than a hotel

Bathroom wasn't the cleanest. The windows did not have curtains only a net which let in all the light and made sleeping difficult. The room was also noisy due to being on a main street which added to the difficulty
