Excellent overnight stay

This is an excellent choice for a family if you choose the two bed apartment. We had an overnight stay in Rennes and this was perfect for us. Beds very comfortable and a lovely continental breakfast. Very easy central location Street parking or easy car park access

Spacious, quaint, well-equipped and well located.

This is a cute, comfortable apartment in an older wing of the Hotel Lanjuinais. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would describe the decor of the apartment as 'shabby chic'. It retains some of the historic features of the building - including high ceilings , fireplace and original, uneven timber floors, which creak when you walk on them. This quaintness is combined with modern features in the kitchen and bathroom. It also has a good washing machine. The Hotel is very well located in the city centre, in easy walking distance to Sainte Anne and other historic locations.

The apartment is on the first floor of the older wing of the building and doesn't have a lift. It is accessed by an old winding wooden staircase. A hotel staff member offered to carry our luggage up the stairs but we managed the task ourselves without too much difficulty.

A lovely friendly hotel in a great location

We had a very warm welcome and a lovely comfortable and quiet room. The staff were always helpful, cheerful and efficient. The hotel is very close to the centre of Rennes and also not far from the railway station. It definitely deserves more than the '2-star' rating it currently has. We will definitely stay here again.

Charming, Cute, but with Challenges

Charming, cute, clean, well-run hotel with kind cheerful staff.

I had a comfort double and it was cute but really too small. Nowhere to put a suitcase, much less two. Feet hanging off the end of the otherwise comfy bed. Shortage of outlets, and neither could the double-paned windows defeat the noise from Chez Paul around the corner nor could the blackout drapes arrest the light from the streetlight mounted on the exterior wall of the hotel. There was always a tradeoff between noise/light and fresh air. One had to choose. It’s not bad but because of these structural challenges I’ll probably look elsewhere next time I’m in Rennes.

Enough to be in downtown

Very central location, and very friendly staff.

There is a small problem with the bathroom ventilation, when you get to the room, if you open the door, there is a strong smell of plumbing. So you have to put up with the smell in the room. Also there was no power outlet nearby. Only on a table. I would have liked a better room, but I guess that was what was available.

The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were super comfortable. It was easy to warm the place up on the cold days. Wonderful to have a washer dryer in the room. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and took care of all of our needs promptly and with a smile.

Just might be a good idea to be sure. People know there are stairs when you stay in the unit outside of the hotel. It is a great unit and very quiet but if you have trouble with stairs, maybe not for you.

The breakfast was good, and the location very convenient. The bathroom was very big! Rooms were spacious.

We missed having a table for two inside the room (a room for 4), so that the kids could sit and draw/read/play. Or a sofa. Besides a lonely chair, the only places to sit down were the beds.

The stairway for the 4th floor is too dangerous to climb with heavy suitcases. This should be advised to guests prior to arrival.

the location was good. it was warm and I had my own heater at room

the room was really small under the roof even I could not walk. the bathroom was for a person with 150 cm height! for 110 euros per night it’s not reasonable at all!

Room was super hot. No fan or A/C. Coolness was totally dependent on the air flow coming from the window. For the same price, you can get a hotel with at least a table fan in Paris.

Nice rooms and well presented hotel. Staff friendly and helpful Breakfast was lovely.

No parking. I realise we were aware but we couldn't find a space for the free period so had to pay overnight. Really inflates the cost of staying by anoutm£20.

Rooms were tiny and breakfast was served also in a very small hall which was full and you had to wait for tables to be freed

Really good place to stay for less money

The Hotel is minimalistic. They managed to do a lot with a tiny space. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although everyone thing there is tight, it still manages to be confortable. And I am 1,87m tall, I know what I am talking about. It is near to the old city and many nice Creperies. And just on the other side of the street you can hang out with locals in a nice bar.

A great hotel in a really central location.

The location was good. Only a 5-10 minute walk to the old town. The family room was huge with a really comfortable large bed.

It would have been good to have air con in the room as it was hot. There were no tea / coffee facilities in the room.
