below the hotel is a bar, it is very noisy. Even with closed windows you can't sleep before 1 AM. I will never come back to this hotel again.

Nice hotel, well situated for centre of Rennes but difficult to find parking because of one way systems and 3 Mercure hotels in the city. Limited parking for high vehicles, most parking underground, max height 1.80m. Very helpful receptionist. Comfortable double bedroom but tight space, one chair for a couple. Large shower unit.

The location is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Tom was comfortable. We didn't try the breakfast. It seemed expensive. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived even though it was an hour after check-in began. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for our room. Other than that it was a very nice stay.

The room was good and the hotel was not far from the central area. We picked it mainly because it had free car parking. The parking is free but access to the small underground car park is very tight & steep, not easy if you don't have a small car. Also we did struggle to find our way to the hotel due to the one way system

The staff could not be have been more patient, friendly and helpful - but the rooms are 2 star at best, tiny and cramped, I've stayed in larger rooms in hostels. My room was not ready when I entered it, I had to ask for it to be completed. I'd booked a twin/double, but was assigned a 'single' with a single bed, twice - when asked to be moved I got an even smaller room with no desk. I checked out again immediately for a different hotel, and was refused a refund. It's usual to have smaller hotel rooms in France, but this was ridiculous. Not a 4 star hotel.

The room was was great, but there was very loud music that kept us up until it stopped, a bit after midnight. We tried running the air conditioner to drown out the noise, but the fan didnt work.

Paid in advance for 2 rooms - hotel had only received notice for 1room. Lucky to be another available but 2 floors apart - not convenient. Room not refreshed on 1 of 3 days. Lift painfully slow, wifi had to be reconnected multiple times… all in all not worth the money!

This hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a good breakfast. The staff were kind and helpful. One piece of advice: don't park in the large lot across from the hotel overnight, when street parking is free. My parking fee was 36 Euros for overnight.

Rooms are spartan and very small, less than a foot between the bed and the wall. Bathroom is fine, but we got only ONE towel for two people. Very very noisy with a restaurant right outside where people partied until late. The parking is a disaster down a vertiginous ramp, only possible with a small car. Find another place to stay.

My major complaint about this hotel that they failed to provide me with an adequate parking space for my car, even though I gave a call to the hotel before making a booking of the room. I explained that I am driving a relatively big car (Volvo XC90) and I need a parking space that could accommodate it. I was assured that this shouldn't be a problem. On my arrival I was told that there is no space to park my car in the backyard, but I can try to park it in the underground parking. An entrance to the underground parking is not designed for passing bigger than average cars and after several unsuccesful attempts I was told to try my lack and find a parking in the city. I was assured by the staff that it's Saturday evening and it should be free. Eventually I managed to find parking not too far from the hotel; however, it turned out that it is not free at all and I had to pay c.15 EUR for the overnight parking. Had I been honestly told that hotel is not able to accommodate my car I would consider a different hotel and would've avoided a one hour hassle to find a parking space for my car. That was a very disappointing experience!

I was over-ambitious getting into the *extremely* tight and awkward parking garage, so I warn anyone else doing it with their steering wheel on the wrong side to take it wide and easy, and if you can't get through in one try *do not* try to reposition - just reverse all the way back out and try again! The Hotel is lovely, they were extremely thoughtful and changed me to a family room with 2 singles and a double when I'd booked a double and a single, they were friendly and kind, and have a lift that is *definitely* not haunted :D

This is a perfect hotel at a reasonable price near to the centre of Rennes. I think it would be better if there were more power points in the room but this is a small thing. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful.

The hotel was excellent. Only one point: the hotel occupies a large area and my room was sort of on the very end of the building and there is a bar under. My room was on 1st floor, so I had music going on and voices of people going outside to smoke all night long. Im sure if a different room, I wouldnt be having this problem. Totally worth staying there. Excellent service, and the nice gentlemen at front desk got me on a renovated room - which was very nice.

A disappointing experience. The hotel was in the city centre so was good for shopping, restaurants etc. The staff were friendly and efficient but we had very little sleep as the room was like an oven. We were there for 2 nights during a heat wave, the temperature was 36° & 35° and although the hotel advertised the fact that they had air conditioning, it wasnt working. The bathroom had a sliding door which was was on rails and was difficult to open & close and on one occasion the door came off the rails, trapping one of us inside, so we had to send for someone to open it!We often stay in Mercure Hotels but this one wasnt up to the usual standard.

Freindly staff, she knew who I was before I even mentioned my name, suspect it was my bad French and her really good English, my only concern was the parking with a car slightly wider than the norm it wasnt easy getting down the slope and around the corner, thankfully a lot easier getting out, breakfast in the morning was good if little limited on selection have stayed at the Mercure in Rubaix and that was better, but all in all a good quite place to stay.

Hotel desperately needs refreshing. Bathrooms are old and lacking quality products. Breakfast is so-so. Surroundings are fine. Price outrageous for the experience.
