Central to city centre clean, staff very professional. Will book this venue again
My friend and I struggled with the stairs.
4.0 / 10.0
The restaurant that the reception recommended.
The bed was uncomfortable with only a small pillow
Parking was difficult as the allotted garage was too narrow and the receptionist was unhappy about us parking in another bay. She actually said the outside secure parking bays were for larger cars. Ours is a Berlingo so not a small car and once in the garage unable to get out of the doors. The hotel overall is dated.

The hotel was close to the station and the town centre. It was easy to find and had a lift and good breakfast options. I would use it again for short stays in transit. The bed was comfortable and clean.
The room was cramped and scruffy. Evidence of wear and tear predominates. Not enough space for a long stay. Tea/coffee provisions were inadequate and poorly presented.

There was a very small balcony overlooking the street with stools and a tray table but far too small really to sit out on
First appearance of front of hotel looks shabby. Room was much smaller than anticipated very hot and claustrophobic. Bathroom was exceptionally small. Positioned in older part of the hotel on the second floor with narrow staircases. The lift is very small. Communal hallways carpets appear to have seen better days. Bedding made me itch! So I did not get a restful nights sleep this may have been the detergent the bedding is washed in or at least I hope it was this. There do appear to be some newer renovated rooms/ studios that look nice on the website unfortunately we did not have one of these. The paid parking is very tight to manoeuvre and round the corner from the hotel. We booked for 2 nights and did not stay for a second night we were not offered even a partial refund other than days parking and tax. It was disappointing the older rooms certainly should not be rated 3*. There was a fire alarm going off at 4am no member of staff to reassure us what was happening so we decided to evacuate there were lots of older guests staying who had to be advised and helped down the stairs but no staff about to advise us what was happening and no apology in the morning! It felt unsafe and concerning. I watched the staff pack away the breakfast items at the end of service food is recycled for next day even the hot food!!

The small patio is lovely
Sound isolation of rooms could be better

Great location, comfortable room, pretty little courtyard garden, helpful staff, tasty breakfast
9.0 / 10.0
Comfortable small appartment equipped with all you need. Close to city center, public transportation and eating/drinking option around the corner or practically across the street. Even though the window is facing the street (and Bretone restaurant), it was not noisy, so I could leave it open.
Door at the entrance could use a handle for easier opening when exiting. Breakfast lacked more vegetables. Apartment location is around the corner 100m from the main entrance, what might be a nuisance if the weather is bad.

Breakfast was great as we're the very friendly staff.
We had 3 motorbikes and we were given a garage to keep them overnight for the duration of our stay which we were very grateful for.
The lift was very small

The room was nice, a bit old, but the bed was comfy. The location is very good, you can walk anywhere from the hotel.
We chose this place because of the private parking and it turned out that we needed to book the parking beforehand. It was not communicated to us or written anywhere

Nice little hotel in a good location within walking distance of the heart of Rennes. Friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Staff seemed stretched at breakfast trying to manage breakfast and reception

Very helpful and friendly staff and thank you for speaking good English for us. Great to have somewhere secure to store our bicycles too.

We stayed in the Eucalyptus apartment just around the corner from the main hotel and opposite a fantastic Creperie located in a house that once belonged to a famous mosaic artist Olerico. The room was self catering, modern and bright with an ergonomic layout. Despite being relatively small, it was very comfortable for myself, my sister and my teen son.
We were travelling by bicycle, and there was a separate secure garage where we could safely leave our bikes.
The location is very central, and it was a pleasant 10 minute walk to the old City centre.
The hotel emphasizes operating sustainably which I appreciated.
We had the breakfast and I definitely recommend choosing this option. There was an excellent selection, all high quality products and mostly locally sourced. Delicious!
I'd definitely return to the Garden Hotel when I visit Rennes again.
It was a warm night when we were there, and the provided duvets were heavier than needed. It would have been nice to have a light sheet on the bed to sleep under instead. But that was a very minor issue.

The room wasn't the biggest but it was comfortable and clean and pretty. The shower was good and it has a shaving mirror too. The staff were very helpful.

Breakfast
I booked a room and ended up with an 'apartment' up two long and steep flights of stairs in a separate building with no lift (unlike the main hotel). With a partner who finds stairs difficult and a heavy suitcase, this was not ideal and was a great disappointment.
The information on the Booking.com website gave an inaccurate address as far as our Garmin sat-nav was concerned and we drove round Rennes for 50 minutes before finding the hotel

The location was very good for our needs. Our hostess on the last morning was exceptionally pleasant. Her name was Cecile
Really nothing except the elevator was out of service

Ignored the boarded up front (thankfully!). Once we got inside it was a really pleasant place with helpful staff with a lovely urban rear where we could leave our bikes safe overnight.

We were surprised that we had an apartment and not actually a room in the hotel. Overall everything was fine, location was not super central, but definitely walkable to the city center. Staff was super friendly.
6.0 / 10.0
The staff were friendly and the room was clean and the bed comfy. The location of the hotel is close to the centre of town which was handy. The parking was nice and secure although quite tight if you have a big car.
The room is starting to show some signs of age and the wifi was non existent in the Magnolia room we stayed in. For me this is quite poor in this day and age as people rely on wifi for connectivity.

Staff were very friendly. Bed very comfortable
Room for family with pets was small. And not shown properly. We expected a bigger room.

The staff.
The lack of options in the breakfast buffet. No alternative to cow’s milk and not a lot of options for food restrictions event though I had mention that I was vegan prior to our arrival.

The location is excellent, right in the centre of Rennes! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel has its own private, secure parking. The decor is fresh and pretty and the breakfast was perfectly adequate.
Our garden room onto the internal garden patio was sweet but quite small, we were only here for one night so this was not a problem. There is no air conditioning but a there was a fan in the room, which we needed as it was 30 degrees!

The location. . The room was a little small, but quiet. I liked the parking. Very safe. The room was serviced very well each of the four days we stayed
Nothing major.
