Lovely stay

Lovely place with private hot tube and heated swimming pool !great location

Water pressure was very slow so between 7 of us was really hard to have shower or bath !ot was advertised sauna but it wasn’t ready for use when we booked the swimming pool

Excellent stay

We had a lovely weekend stay with family. The cottage was warm, clean, comfortable and well equipped. We loved that we could all sit around the large dining table together. The hot tub was really nice and we really enjoyed being able to use the pool. Russel, the owner promptly answered any questions I had and the booking systems were all well organised. Would recommend staying here, their other 2 cottages looked lovely too. Would definitely book again. Thank you.

Fabulous family retreat

The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. All private and bookable. Very well designed barn, big kitchen table great for eating and board games. Lovely garden and lounge to chill in.

Lovely place to stay in a group. Well set up, the hosts had thought of everything.

The showers could have been more powerful and the we prefer a bigger mug for a morning brew. Very minor comments.

Excellent for families

Delightful stay with family. The accomodation was really decent, clean and very liveable. The hot tub, garden and pool were what made the stay memorable having the pool to ourselves twice a day was a real joy. Excellent pub food around the corner perfect for families

Me and my bridal party used this barn as my night before the wedding and it suited us just perfectly

The welcome pack we received had a range of goodies that were a big hit, including top crisps and fresh eggs, and some Prosecco!

My only criticism would be that the lighting wasn’t very bright, so was pretty dark

Shippon Barn Gem

This was exactly what we wanted for a low key celebratory get together with friends. Rooms spacious and equipped with everything you needed, great array of kitchen items, in a quaint yet not too secluded location. It was ideal for what we wanted, and for the price what more could you ask for, we had a great time

Hot tub appeared dated, and in need of some TLC, cushions for outdoor furniture appeared well used, and sofa bed was very tired with an awful smell especially once the doors to the lounge were shut, which made it unbearable to sit in that room come morning. It was very very hot! And when 9 people sharing a house with no cooling facilities it made sleeping uncomfortable. Despite this we were overall pleased

Beautiful holiday cottage

It was beautiful cozy and had everything you could possibly need for a stay at a holiday cottage.

The fact check in was 4pm and the pool was only open 9 till 5 and check out was 10am and we was only staying 1 night so wasn't able to use the pool facilities.

Stunning.

The house was absolutely beautiful! Amazing history and original features but renovated into a modern, fully equipped home. Very comfortable living room and beds. The garden is gorgeous and the hot tub was nice and big, and hot upon arrival! 😍 We had a wonderful night for a quiet 40th birthday get together. The facilities were great - lots of glasses for different drinks! The swimming pool was the perfect temperature with lovely views and floaties provided! Lots of stuff for kids though we were all adults. Might bring the kids next time!

We booked for eight people but there were only seven beds?! The hot tub in the garden and the one in the pool house could have been cleaner, and some hand towels in the bathroom, and more cookware like baking trays for the oven, would have been nice. There weren't any signposts for the pool house so we got a little lost but it was perfect when we found it! Overall a fabulous stay, these are just a few constructive criticisms! Sadly disappointed

Communication with host was good but would have preferred not to of had to contact at all. The place was warm with underfloor heating and radiators. We were approved a later check out so we didn’t have to rush on leaving, although we did find the 4pm check in a bit to late. Restaurant recommendations were good.

Outdoor area wasn’t well lit, lack of bulbs and lights, bedding was smelly and beds noisy and filthy underneath the kids bed. No wood for fire, rectified upon contact. Pool was a huge disappointment, freezing, funny colour and not comfortable at all, kids went in but didn’t last very long and adults just decided we really didn’t want to get in, also it’s not signposted and is quite a distance from the house, So difficult to find. Sauna was out of action. Shower leaked through the ceiling into the living room, rain leaked down the log burner pipe that went through the bedroom, no door pockets in the fridge, broken bin, dishwasher tipped on use, we could also hear scratching in walls or ceiling so either mouse or rat which we also informed host who said it’s the time of year or birds due to the shape of the roof but we were sure it was something else. no aerial for tv. Hot tub would have been fab but did smell bad on the second evening which was sorted by the host quickly with extra chorine and also told we could use the one next door. Quite unclean and cobwebs everywhere. Could have been so much better than it was, especially for the money we paid.

Lovely!

It was very cosy and clean. The pictures don’t do it justice! The owners have a great attention to detail, providing even little things like tea and coffee.

Not being able to use the pool past 5, as we checked in at 4pm by the time we’d all settled in it was 6pm so wouldn’t have had time to use the pool. Would be nice if it was extended by a few hours!

It was nice and clean

bathroom lights were extremly dark.. could not use swimming pool, if you are doing 1 night, it is impossible to use. Swimming pool and play area was far and felt uncomrftable looking round like we are not allowed or something.

Lovely family stay

Lovely period barn with spacious main bedroom, excellent kitchen and lounge, and large garden with hot tub. fantastic to have access to pool and playground 5 minute walk away for kids.

Nothing - a few creaky floor boards and doors but as you’d expect from a period property. Did mean the baby woke a few times when walking past rooms etc, so maybe one to note for parents

lovely overall but a few minor disappointments

loved the character and hot tub lovely place to stay

check in was too late to get value for pool as closes at 5 and couldn’t check in till 4. by the time we got changed and upto to the pool we didn’t have long. also the check out time is too early. The pull out bed in the front room was also a disappointment as uncomfortable and the sheet seemed like it wasn’t clean as there were crumbs left from previous guests.

Comfortable place but could be cleaner

Comfortable place, location fairly central for exploring

Cleanliness. Crockery some were chipped, some not clean. Cobwebs and dirty floor. Paid £40.00 for cleaning towards property. Dishwasher was still full dishes which I had to wash again and empty. Wood burner not cleaned out from previous as was the bbq. Some cig buts outside.

Fantastic value, the perfect place for a family getaway.

This is a great hidden gem. Lovely barn nicely decorated with everything you could need inside. Plenty of living space for eating/socialising together. Very comfy beds and bed linen. The hot tub was switched on and ready when we got there. The kids absolutely loved the pool and the play area outside. It’s also a really peaceful location. We all loved our stay.

We were really happy, I can’t think of anything significant to put here.

30mins from home great place for a break. Pub next door fantastic meals, pool to ourselves hot tub, recommend to anyone to go. Well definitely be back again soon
