Monarchs Quay Arena Apartments by Happy Days

The location was amazing as it is close to the ACC Liverpool experience campus (conference venue). It is located at the Albert Dock which was amazing too.

The lift doesn't work and the property is on the second floor, so we had to use the stairs up and down multiple times in a day. We had to pay security deposit of 100 pound before getting information to check in, which I only noticed few days before check-in and I cannot cancel anymore at that point. The option was to give my credit card details including security code to do it over the phone, or to go to the office in person. I chose to do it in person for confidential reason so it is quite a detour from a smooth check-in.

The apartment was really comfortable,clean and spacious and the location is amazing easy access to the city center.

I didn’t like the fact that the elevator was out of order at the time of my visit was really quiet a bit of a stress using the stairs to the fifth floor and I was assured they were working on it and will get it fixed soon. It was just a coincidence maintenance issue during visit.

Location is great. Apartment is clean.

Some of the supplies were inadequate for a 6 night stay. No Air conditioning during the Liverpool heatwaves. Although a standing fan was provided.

Called to find out how to find the property & collect keys- was told to travel to an address at a different postcode & called ‘boutique 56’ which was very confusing. Found out this was actually the office away from property. Called again to clarify and it’s because they wanted a holding fee of £150 (more than booking total) before collecting keys which was not mentioned in booking description! They said it wasn’t mentioned as some people pay in advance but I’ve never had this with booking.com. Paid over the phone as didn’t have a choice and then was given code to get keys. Property door has a different company name on. That company is round the corner & have no clue how to assist. Sofa very unstable. Also, I find it weird being asked to submit a review before my holding fee is refunded! - Also - we were lucky! Two girls checked in after us, they had paid deposit & received code for lockbox to find no keys in there and were unable to contact the office at that time of the day.
